I loved the design, but it was not right for my feet. The only shoe I can wear comfortably is Brooks Ghost 14.

Shoe was very uncomfortable and hot. Not at all like the other 3 pair of Hokas that I own. Return was super easy.

The shoes are really comfortable. I bought them to run in the rain along with some waterproof socks. I thought the goretex feature would keep the water out but it didn't. Some white foam started comming out of the fabric on the top and they leaked shortly after that on mile 5 out of 12. Not sure if the shoes have a defect or if they just aren't expected to be water proof.

I bought these for my husband. He loved the style. However, the arch support was too much for his foot. After wearing them in the house for a couple hours his foot started to cramp and ache. He put his Brooks on and felt immediate relief.

While I thought that these shoes did well by me, being waterproof and comfortable during my games as a soccer referee, I found that after 7 months of light use (for games only, with jogging and some sprinting) that the Gor Tex uppers ripped on both shoes at the same time where my little toe rubs. The sizing is about 1/2 US size small. I am a 9 1/2 but had to re-order size 10. I have very wide feet, but these shoes were comfortable, except for the tears. This should be a great shoe, once the durability issues are worked out. My understanding is that these are a new product from Hoka One One.

I was excited to use these new shoes for my hikes, but after the first two miles, I had hot spots that formed. I put some pads on those spots and that helped, but I continued to have hot spots form and some blisters form later on in the hike.

A little disappointed. Shoe looked great right out of the box. It's extremely narrow and tight. With the tong sewed in the shoe there's no room to spread the shoe and adjust the laces. I wear an 11 and ordered a 11-1/2 and it was still so tight. The 11-1/2 was the right size to get but getting your foot in the shoe was a challenge. The heal was also an issue. My heal did not stay grounded in the back part of the shoe. This is a shoe that will take some time to break in. Very Stiff.

I've had a lot of pain in my feet from these shoes, especially in the first 2 weeks using them. I spoke with someone in the call center, wrote a review of that, wrote a message to customer support and sent a message to Hoka on Instagram, all with no feedback. The person in the call center tried, but with no understanding of my problem. I am thankful for the 30 day return policy.

I found them like other reviewers very narrow and not easy to put on. But the real problem for me was the tongue sticks up to far and gouges my leg at the ankle bend. After only a few minutes of wear, I had "dents" in my legs from these stiff and long shoe tongues.

This would be an amazing shoe if it came in a wider version.

I was really excited about getting a Goretex version of the Speedgoats. I've been wearing the Stinson 4's and love them. Unfortunately the Speedgoat 4 GTX are very narrow and uncomfortable. These were supposed to have had an upgraded toe box to provide more room for your toes to splay when running; this is not the case. I really wanted to like these as I waterproof running shoe would have been fantastic for me in Appalachia. Maybe Hoka will make a Goretex version of the Stinson. Side Note: I do not require a wide shoe, in fact I have narrow feet. I just want room for my toes to move and not feel like I am crammed into a ballet slipper (not that I would know what that felt like... I'm just imagining). The Speedgoat is very narrow and the Stinson is just right. If you require more toe room, opt for the Stinson.

First I want to say how much I LOVE Hoka running shoes! I have a few different ones for different types of running. My favorite for long and technical trail runs is the Speedgoat. So- when I needed to get a new shoe for running in the rain, mud and snow, it was a natural to stick with my fave and just get the GTX version. I was so surprised that on my first run- just a short 10k, they rubbed by ankles absolutely raw all the way around- and my heel as well. I'm very sad to have to return them- they just come up too high and are too stiff all around- and caused a lot of pain. Otherwise, they're grippy in the snow and ice, and totally waterproof. I'm very sad that to have to return them.

I ended up ordering a different style because I thought the water proof characteristics made this style smaller. The next ordered style was too small even though I have another pair of Hokas in same size that fit. I have ordered replacement in a 1/2 size larger.

Let me start by stating that I am a big fan of HOKA shoes, where I own six different HOKA modelsall of them being size 10.5 (men). That said, I ordered the Speedgoat 4 GTX (size 10.5) and had to return it right away because it was extremely tightand sort of short. I did not have any issues in returning it to HOKA because their return-service is absolutely amazing.

I have a pair of Speedgoat 4 that fit perfectly. These new shoes have a defect that involves a hidden seam going across the top of my big toe knuckle. Would like to return them, but these is no receipt or paperwork in the shipment, and I cannot locate my e-mail receipt.

I got these shoes back in July as a birthday gift I've never owned Hokas before but immediately understood the hype. I would use them for mild terrain hiking and felt like stepping on the clouds. But, after a month of use, I started to notice a mild pain in the back of my heel. The pain gradually got worse until I couldn't even wear them any more at one point in a hike, I actually had to remove these shoes and continue barefoot. It is unfortunate, as the first impression was interstellar. But after light use, the front sole is starting to peel slightly, and the physical pain is unbearable. I couldn't justify spending $160+ on Hokas after this, it would be too risky to see if another style wouldn't have this issue, but one can only dream of shoes that were as good as those first few weeks...
