Background: I have run in the Arahi 4 three times so far for a total mileage of 17.33 miles. I am a mid-foot to fore-foot striker and I overpronate. Positives: - The J-frame is awesome, the firmer EVA keeps my feet from overpronating and my hips feeling good - It has a low heel-to-toe drop of only 5mm--I'm a mid-foot to fore-foot striker so this is very important to me. There are a lot of running stability shoes out there, but there aren't a lot of running stability shoes with a small heel-to-toe offset. A giant heel changes my running style and takes my calf muscles out of the equation to my detriment. I'm thankful that Hoka has a small heel-to-toe drop - It's lightweight Negatives: - It is hard to determine which size shoe is right for you. I ended up choosing the 10.5 when I normally run in a size 11 because the heel on my right foot was extremely loose and felt like it would come out of the shoe in the 11s. Even on the 10.5, the heel is too wide, and doesn't grab my foot. This is a major disappointment. Fit is important. I used to run in a size 11 in the Arahi 2, which I loved, but the size 11 in the Arahi 4 is too wide in the heel and mid-foot; the shoe just doesn't seem to grab my foot. While I have run almost 20 miles in the Arahi 4s, I am still not confident that I picked the right sizethis uncertainty is a major negative. Maybe at some point I'll exchange my 10.5s for the 11s and adjust the lacing on my right foot so that my heel is secure.

The shoe is quite cushy, which is great. However it has a pretty significant arch, which is also fine except that it is somewhat short. This causes an awkward fit to the foot and results in blistering at the front of the arch area. Additionally the toe box is tight which leads to blistering on pinky toe and near base of big toe.

While I enjoy wearing the Arahi 4, my walking partners as does my wife, constantly tell me the shoes squeak. These shoes are a replacement for a similar pair that also had the same problem.

I recently transitioned from Cavus to the Arahi 4 primarily because to be honest the color options for the Cavus are ugly. Thought I'd give this one a try. Unfortunately, it is a narrower shoe than the Cavu so I had to send them back and get a 9 wide. This took care of that issue, but these are not nearly as comfortable as the Cavu. There are numerous pressure points that make wearing them more than an hour daunting. I'm hoping the Cavus come out with better color schemes next time.

Shoes were comfortable for a while then a plastic ridge exposed on the heels. This seems to be a defect or mistake in how they are made. I can't wear the shoes now.

have been hearing the best thing about HOKA running shoes for the longest time. So I had really high expectations. Finally I got them (Arahi 4). I wanted to try them out first and not spend to much at first. Very disappointed. The pull in the back, ripped the second time I put them on (I didn't pull on it to hard, I'm not that strong) Fibers and tread under the shoe lasses are sticking ti the inside (could fix it) and ended up with cuts on my toes. they seem firm enough and cushion is great for me knees , I may try again with another pair.

The strap on the back of the right shoe tore off the first time I went to put them on. I am a podiatrist.

I ordered a 7.5 mens width and had to return them. Then I ordered an 8 and they are still too narrow and not comfortable. I have taken a couple of long walks in them and don't feel good in them at all.

I had done research on walking shoes with an emphasis on stability and comfort. I walk a few miles each day. My Nike’s we’re getting worn and I needed a replacement. The fit seemed fine but I almost immediately developed blisters. I can’t return these but won’t be buying Hoka in the future. Very disappointing and painful.

This shoe did not help my overpronation it actually made my foot roll too far in the opposite direction and hurt my knee. After only wearing this shoe four times I wish I could return it. So disappointed. Through another company I bought their new arahi five And they seem to have fix the problem it’s just a bummer to spend $136 to have issues with this shoe not your fault but it’s easier to buy running shoes from places that allow you to return them after using them a few times to see if they will work it’s a bummer you guys do not do this

right after 2 miles running, I feel the pain on the right side. I think it's because the edge of the tongue (inside) is slightly thick

I usually purchase size 9 for shoes. Having flat feet, I figured I'd go for the 9 wide. The shoe fit loose and didn't feel comfortable since it wasn't snug enough. Had to return.

Probably the most uncomfortable running shoe I've ever worn. I got blisters on the side of foot, so tight in the toe, and I don't have wide feet. I liked the look and feel at first, but running in these caused so many feet issues. I would get tingly toes from the pressure at my toes. Loosing the laces made no difference. I think the shoe itself runs a little bigger than I am used to but is too narrow at the toe.

The Arahi are getting worse with each generation. These 4s rub the foot, are narrower, and do not have the mid support the older ones had. I've worn Arahi shoes since the first one. Bring back Arahi 2s!

I had (4) Arahi 2's and now an Arahi 4. All have seam/stitching issue where tongue is sown to the front of the shoe. Rubs a blister on the top of my toe next to the pinky toe. Moving to another Hoka shoe.

The dorsal aspect of the left shoe had material that protruded into the foot box laterally that was very uncomfortable and worn blisters on the 4th toe. Hated them at that point. I stretched the left shoe with a baseball to expand the foot box and that has made a positive difference and now can wear them comfortably. I hope that they continue to improve.

These are nothing like the past versions that I have loved. In the past Arahi were soft and bendy with great cushion. You could run miles (13.1 to be exact) right out of the box. These shoes are now supper stiff, do not have much give, not very cushiony, and the uppers rub the tops of toes raw. It's a disappointing shame.

I just purchased a pair of Arahi 4s at my local running shop. On my first run I developed a 1.5 inch blister on my medial arch. I run 20-30- miles a week and have never experienced this with another shoe. After some research I am reading that many other people have this same problem and I am left cutting foam out and duct taping the inside of the shoe to make them smoother. I don't want to take them back to the store because their business has been hurting with the pandemic.

I have pretty flat feet and moderate pronation - these were referred to me after a ligament injury running in a lesser brand. They are comfortable, light and cushioned. I've achieved great improvement in the couple months I've picked up the paper. However, part of the left sole is separating. I only run on flat surfaces and for what I paid I don't think this should be happening so soon. I wrote customer service but did not hear back and I think during Covid they aren't responding to emails. I would be very careful look for abnormal wear when you are inside the return window.
