I bought this boot before Zappos had it in stock and I have it in both colors. I wear size 8.5 in street shoes, usually go with 9 in hiking boots and this brand's website suggested this ran big so I ordered an 8, but exchanged it for an 8.5. It was perfect with that little bit of toe room to spare for descents. So I would say it runs slightly large and you might consider ordering your regular size rather than sizing up as you normally would for hiking boots. I have problem feet, with ball-of-foot pain and a bunion by the little toe, so I need a cushy feel without compromising stability and soft but firm side support, and these deliver. I have worn them many miles and they are mostly waterproof (I say that because a few times I had wet feet but haven't figured out if the moisture got in through the top or my foot, through the tongue or if I was just sweating) but for the most part, they excel at everything. The grip is amazing. I have climbed up slick slopes with very little problem while friends were slipping and sliding in their Ariats, Merrells, and Oboz. If I have serious hiking to do, lots of terrain, mountains, or long distance, these are my trusty boots. I would totally buy more of these and try other boots from HOO. They are nice looking, lightweight, with extreme cushion and supportive (I put in my custom orthotic for my high arch) and they need little break in and easy to get on and off. Things I don't like is I wish the lacing were a bit different and the ankle support could be a bit more robust. The laces tend to come undone, so I have to double knot them. These are worth a try and see if they work for you. This brand is the only hiking boot that, for me, meets so many important expectations and is worth raving about.

Great, comfortable boot. Would recommend for build. BUT my 3 stars is for the extreme lack of color ways for women compared to men. Please introduce more neutral colors for women too, like the light tan and olive/brown. This gender branding is crazy and it makes no sense that men have 7 color ways to choose from while women have 3. Tried to just buy the men's ones in my size, and Hoka doesn't make below a men's 7, ruling most women out from doing that. These are for the trail, I need a boot that will look fine with some dirt on it, not look like I spilled a peanut butter smoothie on my bright blue shoes!

These boots have kept me safe and protected in some of the most rugged terrain - the Anza-Borrego Desert - as well as many a 10K' plus long 15-20+ mi day hike! They have been with me on Cactus to Clouds (the initial Skyline trail is 10 mi and 8000+' gain and NO water) as well as Rabbit Peak in the Anza-Borrego Santa Rosa mountains (an even harder imho and many others' opinion) 23.8 mi hike with over 8000' gain plus over 3000' gain/loss in the last 7 miles. I've taken them on shorter more local hikes too. Btw all the hikes I mention have been day hikes.
They have been cushy, comfortable and most importantly have absolutely awesome grip! This is imperative in the very slippery slidey shaley slopes of the desert peaks which have not only those but tilted slabs you have to often walk on as part of the "trail" and many boulders, dry waterfalls, some of the toughest terrain around which "eats" trail runner shoes for breakfast as the rocks can be very sharp! They even have withstood the scourge of the Mojave desert - cholla balls! I've picked up just a couple of these hitchhikers and had to pull the thin needles out with tweezers, even if I stepped on a rogue cholla ball, with no puncture of my foot whether they are on the side or bottom of my boot.
I've used them on the big mountains of So Cal - literally every legit trail on Baldy, Gorgonio, Jacinto and lots of cross-country/off trail too. Before the Kahas I took my Speedgoats up Whitney - a 22 mi day hike to the highest peak in the continental US - and my feet felt great!
The boots are not only waterproof, they don't even look wet even after full on fording a stream with my feet submerged in some cases.
I do very challenging hikes and even when I am picking so carefully down a really slippery steep slope or bouncing over rocks and in weather including snow, they have performed amazing protecting not just my joints but my safety as well. They are the best hiking boots I have ever had!

I am 65 and a farmer. I could not continue farming on my feet all day if I didn't have comfortable shoes. This is my third pair of Hoka s and I love them. I was reluctant to spend $220 but my feet are worth it.

I've had these for several months and wear them routinely to hike. They are so comfortable, waterproof, and supportive. Very helpful in dealing with plantar fasciitis issues as well. Highly recommended.

I am a long-time Hoka customer and I loved my new Sky Kaha boots while hiking this summer- so comfortable and light as well as supportive. But I went on my first hike with rain yesterday and my feet were miserably soaked. This is especially surprising since I had gators on that went up to my knee and covered the top part of the boot except for the toe area. The only way that much water could've come in I think is if the bonding between the boot and the sole failed, one boot more than the other. I've had the boots for about a month and a half, enjoyed them greatly, but they appear to just be summer sunshine boots.

The boot is extremely comfortable and I loved them until the soles started falling off both of my boots. It made it extremely hard to hike in and I was backpacking so I had to keep wearing them. I was tripping over the sole and they lost their grip so I was slipping on rocks. Extremely unhappy with these considering the price I paid, I have loved other Hokas before but this will definitely make me question about buying from them again.

I had previously heard great things about the quality of hoka and unfortunately it is just not true. My fianc and I both ordered these boots for hiking. With less than 40 miles on these boots the bottom grip is completely ripping off of them. They need to be superglued to stay together. I am so disappointed in this company and will never buy from them again.

I usually don't leave reviews ever, but what I can say is I bought the Kaha gore-Tex and I was never so happy I did! First of all I bought them for work and used them this past weekend for a 10 mile hiking trip that dropped 3 inches of rain. Let me say as soon as I put them on I didn't have to break them in, instant comfort! While hiking my feet never once hurt me at all due to the comfort and I would say shock absorber from the sole was my saving grace! These are the best boots I have ever bought and with my job i have to buy boots at least once a year so 25 years of my job I have looked and tried on many and bought many pairs, but by far these have been the best ever. Hiking with 3 inches of rain and stepping in wet creeks, my feet never got wet at all! Now with that being said I ordered same size as I did in my hoka arahi and they was a little wide in the toe area but I put a heavier sock on and that took care of that problem, so if your looking for a good comfy boot and keeps you dry these are the ones!

Love these... they are awesome. I bought my normal size 8 1/2, as well as an 8 based on reviews and the 8 fit much better. Like walking on air

Hokas have been life-changing shoes for me. I first started with a pair of Gaviotas after I had knee surgery. I was instantly hooked. Now, I have a pair of Gaviotas for road running as well as for walking, a pair of Ora recovery shoes, 6 pairs of Arahis for school (I'm a teacher and am on my feet all day.) I had tried the Toas and the Arkalis for hikers and liked them both, but they didn't have enough cushioning for me. The Tor Summits were very comfy but so wide that my heel slipped in them. These hiking boots are amazing!!! I have advanced chondromalacia in both knees and hiking has started to get downright painful. I took these boots out for the first time today and it was SO MUCH BETTER!!!! I put my orthotics in them and they feel very stable with great traction. The cushioning is amazing. Thank you, Hokas!!!! Now I'm off to find my favorite Hoka trail running/walking shoes....

It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO big! I have been wearing Hokas for years, but only the running shoes, so I decided to go for the hiking boots. These are a joke. They’re 1” bigger than my feet! I’m actually very upset because I was so excited. I don’t think I’ll get them again. Hoka One One is too inconsistent.

I broke my ankle in November 2019, and I've been wearing Hoka OneOne ever since! They're the one brand my recovering ankle could tolerate, and I prefer the shoes with the most cushion possible for previous foot injuries and fallen arches (U. S. Army Veteran in uncomfortable, not-very-cushioned combat boots). So I have numerous foot issues. I also wear hard 3/4 plastic orthotics for my fallen arches, and they work brilliantly with all of my Hokas.
These Kaha hiking booties are brilliant for giving my still-weak left ankle. I don't necessarily hike in these, I take the dog for walks and I even kick around the ball with her in the grass, which without these particular shoes would cause me to have to be ultra careful with stepping and kicking. I have enough support in these that I think I might be able to go hiking again, which I haven't been able to do for over a year. I highly recommend these, I'm very pleased with my purchase! I purchased my usual size and my orthotics fit just fine.

My dr recommended these tennis shoe after my foot and ankle reconstruction . Have a recent pair of the tennis shoes, which I can't be without. Last winter of course my feet got wet. So I decided to buy their water proof boots, which seem nice. My problem is that the surgery foot is bigger than the non surgery one. Dr says that will subside but, its been over a yr. So I'm wearing them around the house to see if I can wear them with out any rubbing. t
This is the best constructed shoe I have ever worn. My Dr recommended them after my foot and ankle reconstruction. But they have their drawbacks also. Last winter my feet got wet bc the tennis shoes have so much ventilation ( which I love ). So I decided to get a pair of waterproof boots for this winter. I'm now wearing them around the house in case I have to return them. One foot is bigger than the other now..
The other problem is I am a fashionable person and sometimes tennis shoes or boots do not go with my outfit. This is the best made shoe I have ever had. It gets expensive when you need one for gardening, and the next day you have no shoes to wear cuz they are dirty from the garden. So I really need 3 pair and I am on a fixed income. I think the company should give a discount for ppl like me who's dr has given them a script for them because of foot problems, fixed income act.

I absolutely love my KAHA GORE-TEX hiking shoes. I go hiking on rough and rocky terrain a couple times a week, and these shoes have greatly improved my performance and my recovery - no more sore feet! I can't believe I hiked all these years without this level of comfort. Highly recommend!

I have had my Hoka Kaha for close to 2 years now, I got the original ones,v.1, in dark khaki and maroon,--and they are still doing well, if not better now that they've logged a good number of miles now! Ready for another pair BUT this new batch of colors aren't appealing at all. The colorways for the men's line are way better--why is that? Hoka, women don't always need pastel, cutesy colors, that's a stereotype! We like tan, khaki and all those colors in the men's line... please broaden your colorways for women!

Replacing hiking boots I have loved for many years was more difficult than I expected. I chose these boots after first trying another brand I trust, but whose boots did not turn out to be as good as their shoes. These Hoka One One boots fit well the first time I put them on, just like my Hoka running shoes (I have several pairs). The boots are comfortable with very secure soles for good footing even in my muddy, slick, rain forest environment. The boots clean up easily. And they look great on my feet. All in all, an excellent purchase to replace "old friends."

These boots rock! I love them. Super comfortable and light weight. Love the blue colors as well.
I had to reorder a half size smaller than I usually wear, and my friend purchased the 7 1/2 from me and she loves them too. I have several pairs of Hoka Traill Runners, but these will be used specifically for hiking.

Loved the external stability in this hiking boot. I have severe plantar fasciitis and this shoe is great for minimal bells and whistles in the inside foot bed so it doesn't aggravate my condition. The wide heel width is very comfortable and perfect for support. I'm buying another pair just to keep as a spare. The cost is worth the comfort. I usually buy Eccos but this shoe is better!

I think these run slightly large. I ordered a 10, like my running shoes, but they were a bit sloppy and my heel moved too much. Exchanged for a 9 1/2 and they fit perfectly. I did a couple of miles on the treadmill before wearing outside to make sure. They are supportive and I have had no rubbing or hot spots. Easy to adjust the laces. I have foot problems (past surgery for a falling arch) and have orthotics. The KAHA has been great so far.

Now this is a Hoka hiking boot! Room in the toe box but narrow enough to hold my heel in. Amazing cushioning!! And, I can definitely feel the arch support. This model has both Gortex and a Vibram sole. It is pricier than the other Hoka hikers, but lovely Zappos let me try them all- and the quality of this shoe is definitely higher than the less expensive Hoka hikers.

So comfortable, excellent performance. Still plenty of grip after more than 400 miles of use and the waterproofing is holding up pretty well too.
