I live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on the shores of Lake Superior. I’ve been wearing the Hoka Kaha GTX for 9 months. I’ve worn them for 100’s of miles over different conditions and through different seasons - from hiking groomed trails, wet and/or rocky trails, to now - snow. I thought the Kaha’s sizing was accurate. I haven’t had any blisters and they didn’t need a break-in period. The only thing I noticed was that they seemed somewhat “bouncy” at first. That’s good sometimes, but it can be a liability depending on the trail. I’m 61 years young and I wear support stockings (I actually don’t even own any socks anymore). I haven’t had wet or cold feet even once while wearing them, despite walking through fresh snow and the occasional water. I think that the blue color is beautiful, but it would be nice to have a choice available. I have had several surgeries on one of my ankles and my feet are finicky. I used to try wearing different boots on each day of the week for my walk so that my foot could recover, but I don’t need to do that with the Kahas. I’ve worn Hoka’s almost since they were first introduced - since my podiatrist told me about them after he saw them at a conference for the first time and was intrigued. I couldn’t begin to tell you how many different models I’ve had because they’ve been great for my feet, but the Kaha’s are my favorite so far.

I have low-volume feet with small bunions and failing arches. Hokas are my lifesavers and these hiking boots are no exception. Incredible structure and support but relatively light weight and comfortable right out of the box. The "grippers" for the upper laces are great detail and keep these boots secure. My Asolos ALWAYS came untied.

I pushed the limits on my last pair of work boots and gave myself some recurrent foot pain- just a couple weeks with the new Kahas have made a great difference. If they had composite toe caps they'd be perfect! No real break-in period (some rub at the collar on day 1 but that's a lacing/sock fix) and the fit seems more true to size than my Tor Techs.

I pulled the boots out of the box, put on regular sports socks and hiked 4 miles. No "break in", no blisters, no thick socks just a perfect fit and extreme comfort. Worth every penny!

Support, comfort and fit seems to be qualities of all the different Hoka shoes we own. These work good on those early morning 'wet' hikes through grass.Socks stay dry and no backaches from lack of support. Looking forward to more adventurous hikes to test durability on rocks and uneven terrain.

This lightweight hiker is great. After foot surgery Hoka's are my go to shoe. Been curious about more soft cushioned Shoes, well, these are great! Colors too. I highly recommend. They did not disappoint!

I am returning to exchange for another of the same boot. There is something wrong with the left boot that digs into the inside of my arch when I walk.

I usually wear the Bondi and this boot is quite comparable. I'm not really planning to do any hiking due to foot issues, but I really needed a waterproof alternative to the Bondi for the snow. This waterproof boot is amazing. I've had them for a week or so and find them comfortable enough to wear all day long. They're great to walk from place to place in the snow without getting wet or cold feel...yet, they are comfortable enough to wear all day inside, too. I've shoveled snow in the driveway twice today and my feet have been perfectly dry and comfortable. Nothing beats dry and comfortable feel when traversing the snow. I'm so glad my physician told me about Hokas. They've opened up the world to me again. Thanks so much for making these!

Shoes are very comfortable. I have problem feet and needed new hiking boots that did not hurt, which is why I ordered Hoka One One specifically. My one complaint is that the shoes don't feel as sturdy as they should for hiking with a pack. I hope they last. All my previous hiking shoes (before foot problems) lasted years and years and felt sturdier. The sole on these feels substantial, and the fit of the shoe is somewhat supportive for holding my foot in place hiking with weight and on uneven surfaces, but a little flimsier than I expected for a "hiking boot" and for the price. Hoping for the best. Going on back packing trip in the next month so we'll see....

I love the brand Hoka. This purchase is my fourth pair of Hokas. Unfortunately, I did not really consider the tread of this shoe/boot and how much gravel, small rocks and dirt are easily trapped in the tread before my purchase. Now, I have to make sure that I do not walk into my home straightaway after a hike, especially now in the rainy, wet weather. In other words, these Hokas require regular cleaning or maintenance after each hike. If not, I will be inadvertently depositing a bunch of gravel and dirt from Hokas to surfaces like the floor of my car, my front porch, etc. I've gone back to wearing my previous, older pair of Hokas and saving these new ones to wear at another time.

This is a PS to the review I just submitted regarding the boots becoming very wet the first time I experienced rain while hiking in them. Lest anyone suspect that all the water got in because I was walking through a stream or through puddles, I didn't do either. But in my first hike in these boots on a typical PNW fall day, I came home with soaking socks and cold toes.

This is the second pair that I have to return, evidently these shoes are not designed for people with narrow feet. I ordered a size 8.5 for women which is my size and they swallowed my feet, so I returned them and got a size 8 and those are too big for me, so they have to go back. I wanted so bad to like them

I LOVE MY KAHAS. I wore these on a 5-day trek (12-15 miles/day) in Chilean Patagonia and I could not have asked for a better boot. I carried a ~30lb pack and the trek was full of steep up/down hill rock-traversing and since Patagonia can have all weather conditions in the span of one day, a lightweight and water-resistant boot was just what I needed. Miraculously, my feet did not hurt at the end of each long day and I had zero blisters (though I did wear silk liners with merino socks), which was not the same fate as my partner (who did not wear Kahas). Comparison to Anacapa Mid: When ordering, I tried the Kahas and Anacapa Mid. The Kahas are much more plush than the Anacapas and provide more ankle support. The Kahas are a hair more heavy, but both are incredibly lightweight. I found that the Anacapas did not feel as supportive (felt much more like a basic running shoe) and that the side of the ankle, which drops down much more than the Kaha, hit in an uncomfortable way that I am not sure I would have gotten used to. Sizing: 5.5 in Kahas / 6.0 in Anacapa Mid. I found that the Kahas run a little wider than the Anacapas. Break-in: They were comfortable right out of the box. Prior to my trek, I wore them a handful of times during rainy errands, as well as a 10-mile day hike. Break-in breeze.

I got these to wear in the winter, the snow, the rain, & the mud, hiking the trails with my dogs. I switched out Hoka's insert for my own merino wool topped one, to make the boots a bit warmer with temps in the single digits & a foot of snow on the ground. I have to say, these are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn, light & plush (even more than my Bondi 8s), yet still very supportive on uneven & rocky ground, & they keep my feet warm & dry in the snow.

This boot seems to run narrower and longer than most other boots, so it was hard to find a good fit for my foot. After trying on several sizes of both this boot and the men's equivalent, I settled on the women's size 10, although I usually wear a women's 9.5. But the women's 9.5 was so narrow, I could barely get my foot in, although the length was perfect. So I got the 10, and the width is fine (actually spacious, but I can tie it tight enough, but it's way long. But despite the imperfect fit for the shape of my personal feet, the comfort and support of this boot beats everything else I tried hands down. It's sublimely cushioned and lovely to walk in!

Most shoes I try on hurt my feet as they hit my bunions and exacerbate Hallux Rigidus but I was determined to find a super comfortable pair of hikers with great support and did not stop searching, as this summer included trips to Switzerland and Iceland. These shoes were perfectly perfect. I have never had such a comfortable pair: excellent traction and support, completely waterproof—- cannot recommend enough. BEST HIKING BOOTS EVER.

I LOVE the Hoka Kaha GTX. I wear them on suburban walks with my dog over pavement, snow, and ice. I’ve worn them with thick socks in single digit F temperatures and not felt the cold at all, and I’m extremely sensitive to cold. I paired them with a pair of gaiters for deep snow and I stayed warm and dry. They do run a bit big, but that was actually true to size for me once I put in my orthotics, I can wear them with thin or thick socks. The lacing works very well for me. They have very good traction. If you can find them in your size, go ahead, try them. You have nothing to lose with Zappos return policy.

Turns out I do! I'm one of those people who has had the same hiking shoes for 20 years. I finally had enough with the rigid upper on my last pair of a well-known outdoor brand and gifted myself these Hokas after years of running in every Hoka imaginable. I have to say I am so pleasantly surprised. Ended up wearing them not only on a day hike but also in blizzard conditions, in snow shoes, and through slushy puddles and these kept my toes warm and feet happy. Definitely an all-around great boot.

I absolutely love these boots! I've worn mine in pretty much every condition and they truly hold their own. I wish there were more colors such as the men's dune, as I'd buy multiple pairs. I also ordered half a size up!
