I ordered a half size up but the shoes are still too small. Too narrow and the toe box just isn't...right. It's such a bummer because the shoes are adorable, well made, super light, and feel like you're walking on clouds.
My friend has a pair and she loves them. I guess they're just not made for my feet.

The Speedgoat was a nice, extremely light weight shoe. I liked the color too. However, the toe box is slightly narrow, so I returned the shoe.

I was really excited to try a Hoka shoe. My "go to" brand is just not holding up, and the Hoka looked to be better made with a better sole.
I need a wide toe box, and my Google search lead me to the Speedgoat by Hoka. I went through the sizing comparison between my current brand versus a Hoka shoe, and landed on a women's size 9.
The toe box is far from wide. Thirty minutes in to my run, my toes were asleep, not having the room to splay. It was truly miserable.
The cushion and support are fabulous, the fit on my foot was perfect (so I don't need a wide width), but the toe box was deeply disappointing.
When Hoka makes a truly wide toe box shoe, I will be back!

I love the colors and the waterproof feature of these but the arch support was not enough for me and too much room in the shoe for my foot. Had to return :(

Speedgoat mid gore text 1 is the comparison. Love having a running shoe (trail run shoe) that is mid-ankle. Still great high, however some of that padding and support are GONE. Still has a Vibrum(TM) sole - but the soul is gone...yes yes, these have cushion for endurance, but they feel less structured. Did I keep them, yes - will I need to find something soon as they are not keeping-up with the road - yes. Planned obsolescence ! Just like my tech, so goes the shoe.
True to size - yes.
Colors true to the picture - yes but brighter and gaudier
Did I send an e-mail to HOKA letting them know they have let things slip - yes...TBD

The shoes fit, but they were listed as hiking shoes, which was what I wanted. On trying on, they did not feel sturdy or stable for long hikes or for hikes with back packs. Perhaps better suited for running on trails. Returning.

First off I loved Honka One One boots in general. However I feel this pair of hiking boots are difficult to get in and off. The tongue seems too short. Would you improve them? Thanks

As others noted these are hard to get on, and feel a little narrow. The gore-tex was also quite hot. Hoped to alternate wearing them with my Speedgoats but returned instead

THis shoe is way too mushy, yet very difficult to put on. It also is retaining sand inside the shoe. I can literally shake the shoe and hear sand trapped somewhere inside the shoe. It's annoying. Big disappointment.

I didn't like the lack of support for the ankles and the fact that the boots were so difficult to put on.

So, my shoe laces came with some type of sticky stuff on them that makes it hard to lace up. Also the left shoe has some thing were in the sole that makes walking or running for more than a couple mins painful.
Kinda disappointed because everyone I know loves there Hokas and brags about them all the time and o want too be part of that. Lol.
But overall it seem very well made. But it would be nice to get a new left shoes and some shoe laces.
I would still recommend to a friend because I feel like this is not the norm for you guys and overall I've heard good things :)

I had more of a hiking boot in mind. This was quite flimsy feeling. Also it was very hard to get on and off. I liked the bondi 7 so much I was hoping for a similar feel. This was a little big in the heel. I will try the Kaha.

They are comfy and a bit springy AFTER you have spent 15 minutes and worked up a sweat getting the laces unloosened to get on and retightened to be secure on rocky steep trails. Seriously, the laces are fat and much wider than the tiny little holes they punched for them. IF they have grommets for the laces and tightening loops for the ankle I would have given them FIVE stars. I have 4 other pairs of HOKAS and love them all. Lacing details need improvement on two of them.

These are waterproof and very hotfor your feet but snow still got inside the shoe around the tounge which makes them all the wrong type of waterproof. I also do not like the feel of them hiking - very bouncy and unstable. They are also incredibly difficult to get one. Will stick with Merrill and Salomon.

I really really like my Speedgoat Mids that I purchased in 2019; it was finally time to replace them. I hoped these would fit the same, but I was disappointed to find they are cut much higher around the ankle. I tried not using the top hole, but they were still uncomfortable. In addition, the fabric above the top of my foot near the toes is much stiffer and less flexible than my older pair...even when they were brand new. I tried to like them, but they are going back.

I was very excited about the potential of these shoes to open up the winter running/jogging world to me--they came recommended as a great winter running shoe--but they managed to be both too small and too large at the same time. I have a low-volume foot and the front portion of the shoe was really deep, to the point that my forefoot lifted up and down when walking. (The heel also felt wide and sloppy despite the ankle lacing.) The forefoot/metatarsal area was also weirdly narrow, even though it was too deep and despite the toe box being wide. My toes and forefoot were asleep within the five-minute try-on period, and my ankle wasn't far behind. The shoes were also longer than a standard 8--the box said 40 EUR and I'm used to an 8 being closer to a 39. Disappointed since I've heard so many raves about this brand!

I am a trail runner and am recovering from a serious right ankle injury. I ordered the Speedgoats for additional ankle support. Unfortunately, the lining in the right boot is all messed up creating a sharp raised line right across the injured part of my ankle. Also a raised bump where the tongue is attached. Both of these dig into my foot. The left boot is smooth inside like it's supposed to be. I really like the boots otherwise - would like to replace the right boot after quality control check

These are very narrow, and look absolutely ridiculous. Like an exotic wasp. I had a hard time telling the right from the left because they are such an odd shape— like a couple of potatoes on your feet. Odd shoes.

These are not hokes. Ultra narrow, no arch support, like running on cement. whoever was running the production line on this shoe dropped the ball completely. These are not hoke one one. I'm so very disappointed that they decided to put these on sale when they should have been put on clearance. These are not what this company represents. Do not buy this shoe. You will be sorely disappointed. There's no balance, there's no plushness or arch support and there is no flexibility. My feet and my knees were on fire after 1 hour walk with my dog. Normally I buy Stinson and bondi. These are a meager and miserable example of what this company can do.

I am so disappointed. This is not a cheap shoe and it is coming apart already! I Love how comfortable this shoe is and it is completely waterproof but the top toe covering is flaking off and has ugly brown spots. Looks rotten. There does not seem to be a way to return defective shoes so I guess I am stuck with them. My husband has a pair and they are fine.

I have bought many pairs of Hoka shoes, and this pair is so disappointing. It's difficult to put on, and rubs near my ankle. I wore them once, and probably can't return. It was an expensive buy.
You have to undo the shoe strings almost entirely to get the shoe on.

I tried to love them but have chalked it up to an expensive mistake. Not comfortable, hot and too bouncy of a feel for hiking or trail running.
