My first pair of Hoka shoes. I can't get over how soft they are on the soles of my feet. They are true to size as well. Great shoe!

Been wanting to try Hoka's for hiking for a while. I live in the mountains and hike daily (@citygirlgoeswild) Really like the way they look, not bland and brown like typical hiking gear. These put a smile on my face. It takes a little getting used to the cushioning, it feels a little less stable on the way up....but boy, on the way down, heaven!
First ordered 1/2 size up but that felt too unstable, so returned and went for my regular size. (Thank you for the great 30 day trial policy.) Believe these are a little more narrow in the forefoot than other Hokas so hopefully they won't aggravate a nasty little foot issue I have (Mortons neuroma) but so far so good.
They are hard to get on and off (no hooks for lacing) which might be an issue when hiking with frozen fingers in winter but I'll worry about that then:-)

Sadly I have to return them . One foot fit okay ,not great , the other too narrow at the front of the shoe. They are comfortable , but with all the padding for comfort, it would be difficult to make a good hiking sock fit . Not sure ordering next size up would fix the problem . The front is just designed too narrow. I had tried a size 6 Houka One One in another style and my feet were swimming in them . This pair are a size 5.5 , and just too small . So, not a brand sadly, designed for my foot .

This shoe is the lightest hiking boot I've ever worn, which is great for knees that are complaining. It was comfortable but my physical therapist said the sole was not stiff enough for my foot needs. It has limited flexibility in the toe box area but a lot of bend in the arch area. I was sorry this one didn't meet her requirements for me.
I'd also recommend:

Wore the Speedgoats on a trip to Utah parks. They are very comfortable and offer good support for my sore ankle. Only complaint is they are difficult to put on because of the design with eyelets instead af hooks for the laces.

I returned these as they made my feet sweat when I wore them around the house to test them. Yes, they have a very "squishy" feel, but a little too much for my liking, so I returned them.

I like them, but they squish my toe box, it'd be nice if they had an option for a wider toe box.

These are really comfortable, I ordered a half size up, as suggested by others, and it was a good idea.
They are very difficult to put on, but once on they are very comfortable, they have great traction,
and can be a bit warm, not sure if they are very breathable.
color is nice,
Also hard to get off. need a bigger opening to get your foot inl.

I've been walking in Bondi 6 for several months and wanted a shoe for winter. These fit and feel very similar to the Bondi. Nice! The upper is less ventilated so warmer. The tread is good on snow packed roads and trails. I thought provincial blue/saffron would be too bright but I like it. The only bad thing is they are difficult to get on and off; some hooks for lacing so the shoe opened up more easily would make this a 5 star shoe.

These shoes are terrific! Great tread, warm, supportive. But I wish I would have listened to the reviews that said to size up half a size. Wearing thick, warm socks is very uncomfortable.

This has been a very comfortable shoe with one caveat. It's supportive, roomy and has good grip. My one concern is the tongue on the right foot seems to rub and the bottom of my leg is pretty uncomfortable. I can fix it by loosening the laces around my ankle a lot- the show still stay on well but I lose the ankle support.
The sizing is bigger with Hoka than other brands but I'm used to that. If new to it- order 0.5-1 size smaller but the 30-day guarantee is a huge help.
Overall, I'll keep them since the issue is bearable.

I have loved my Speedgoat sneakers which fit like a glove. The Speedgoat goretex boot has a small part near the top of my foot where the tongue is sewn in which has been a bit bothersome but I am hoping it will lessen with time. The traction on these are almost suction like!

These are my first Hokas and I'm still not quite used to the (lack of) groundfeel. Bought these mostly as hikers and for long walks in possible ice and snow. I've put over 100 miles on them in less than 3 weeks and love them so far! The higher cut isn't an issue and the colors are fab.

I like that they cushiony and waterproof. The colors are not so cute, and they are pain to get on. Great for walking my dog in Minnesota winters!

Used this for hiking on the Appalachian Trail. I don't think I could have made it up Jacob's Ladder without the flex - this boot allows to dig toes into the dirt when needed, which is not something a regular boot allows for. The right boot did suddenly fill with water for no apparent reason - must have been a tiny defect, but I loved them enough to order a replacement pair which was really easy due to the return policy. Also love my Hoka sneakers to get me thru NYC trips with no foot pain.

I haven't had the Speedgoat Mid 2 GTX very long and am still working on adjusting my feet to a hiking boot. But the overall fit and quality are satisfactory. works OK with my needed arch support. Since I have high arches, some shoes are too tight across the forefoot when the support is added. These shoes are just enough room to accommodate them. I ordered a 7, the same size I need in most running shoes to allow for the arch supports.

I run-hike in my speedgoats on trails and love them. What I don't love is that the are cumbersome to put on and take off as they are lace-up all the way to the top.

I'm trying to make the switch from Altra to Hoka now that wide sizes are offered for some models. Love the regular Speedgoats, and have them in a 7W. I ordered these boots in a 7.5, hoping to accommodate for the fact that they are not offered in a wide. The fit isn't right, and I will be returning them and sticking with my Lone Peak hikers.

This Speedgoat is wide in the heal. The top mesh part is not sturdy so between the two issues my foot slides around too much and causes blisters on my heel. I had to put an insert to help which was another expense with an already expensive shoe.

I like these shoe/boots, but they are hard to pull on, especially if you have arthritis in your hands. They are water proof, but you can feel a difference on the inside of the shoe when they get wet. Still comfortable and supportive of heel.

Hoka made a hiking boot? I was so excited to try them bc I love my Hoka Cliftons. Supremely disappointed for three reasons. There is absolutely no arch support (surprise!) There are no hook and eyes like a normal boot, which makes them a pain to get on and off. The ankles are strangely and unnecessarily puffy.
I’m proud of Hoka for taking a stab at it. Maybe they can go back to the drawing board and fine tune these. I’d really like to see some legit Hoka hikers in the future, but these aren’t it.
I will say one thing good…they are light as a feather!

Kathy wrote a review in 2019 about the colors. Thank you Kathy. I know we cannot be the only women out there annoyed by the suggestive colors. We are not lil babies that you put neon and pastels on. Other women like that but it is not for all of us. For many of us those colors feel like 3rd grade in the 80s. They would have matched our parachute pants well! Ohhhhh, That's what it is... They remind me of my punky Brewster shoes! You would think that I would just love them! But I would genuinely appreciate being able to pick out red... Just plain old, red... Or blue... Maybe with small accents don't hurt my feelings... I have wanted a pair of normal colored tennis shoes that were not black for my entire adult life. It's not about gender. It's not about equality. It's about people just want what they want. Also, so many times I found a pair of your shoes and think oh that's pretty cool... Then I realized the bottom is white. Why the hell would people want White on the bottom of a pair of shoes... Or white shoes for that matter? You gon put them on your feet right? And then your feet going to touch the ground? Oh... That's not smart then. I promise you people don't want that damn light on the bottom of your shoes. It's called walking around sense.... Un less NASA is paying for it and you going to the Moon. ?
I was about to buy a pair of Asics the other day... I just couldn't make myself do it though. I just couldn't make myself do it though. I tried them on cuz they look so comfortable... And man they really were... But all I could think was do I have to put braids in my hair again to have these on my feet? I mean genuinely, I was sort of hoping shoes that wild would have a zipper pocket on the side for my lunch money and velcro straps instead of laces.
