I tried these shoes on two separate occasions and have decided to return them. The shoe runs very hot. The upper is synthetic and does not seem to breathe at all. The toe box is a little large and when I walk, you can hear the shoe flex. Finally, the upper where the laces go through the eyelets at the top dig into the top of my feet: very uncomfortable, especially when I am moving laterally on the court or digging for a ball. The shock absorption is good--better than my NB 969's, but the other issues outweigh the cushioning.

top part of shoe above toes is this cheap looking and feeling plastic stuff. for the cost, i was surprised at how cheap they looked and felt. and nowhere near comfortable enough to justify this. thumbs down.

bought and returned as too tight - I have been weating the gel resolution 6s for a while these are too tight not as wide and have the staps between the laces that are vwey uncomfortabe... sorry not for me will try babolat or k swiss apparently better for wide feet!

I do use lace loops and I still feel like my heel slips out of the shoe. Dynawrap is too tight. Laces are too thin. I prefer a little more cushioning in the tongue.

I've been using Gel Resolutions for years. However, certain issues with availability/stock of 2Es and the quality of the insoles has been a factor in looking for new shoes. it is so tough to find 2Es in good colors and stock. Also, why doesn't Asics offer different shoe laces and replacement insoles. The insoles on this shoes wear out/bottom out quickly and we're forced to look for alternatives instead of coming straight to Asics.

I tried these and found the upper material not to my liking. It felt and looked like plastic. One part was firmer and rubbed my toes and had to return.

Fit and size are fine, this would be a great shoe if not for the material on the toe box which is rigid, and clicks loudly any time you move in them. If you don't mind sounding like your shoes are popping every time you step, these are great shoes.

I love the color. I first tried the women’s 9.5 version and switched to men’s 8 when they were too narrow. The men’s were also too narrow! There is a canvas strap across the lace area that is jus too tight. I also did not like the plastic, thought they would be too hot.

the shoes are way too tight caused chiefly by the strap across the instep which cannot be adjusted. also it would be a really great idea to offer ALL your shoes with an option for a wider width.

The rubberized shoe covering is hot and uncomfortable which made the fit poor. I love ASIC for tennis and walking but starting to rethink my choices. I returned the pair because of poor fit and comfort. I am not recommending this shoe to other players.

Size 8.5 shoe was the length of a 10. Super awkward proportions. Hinged badly across arch/base of toes. Despite narrow fit, my foot slid sideways in them. Ordered size 8's in both regular and wide, and they didn't fit either. Too tight in toe area, despite the 8.5 being way too long.

I used the Asics Gel Resolution 6 Wide, this is the same but series 8 Wide. But in name only. The 6 was a single or double E width, while the 8 feels like a standard D, not wide at all. The old model was a great shoe for wide sized tennis players and I bought it three times. The new 8 model is a total fail and disappointment. Folks at Asics, do yourself and us a favor: Take an old 6 Wide, change something meaningless like colors, but leave the shoe the same. You broke a good product. That's a shame. But you know how you could fix it too. :-)

Plastic upper felt super unnatural and didn't allow for natural foot movement. Shoes felt durable...but at the loss of comfort and fit.

I have been wearing gel resolution for many years and probably have gone through 15 to 20 pairs. All have been great until this last pair. For some reason the shoe material is less flexible and bind snaps and pops as you bend your foot. Very bothersome. All pairs have been the same size FYI as well.

Thanks for asking. I had to cut off the elastic straps closest to the front of the sneaker. The strap dug into the top of feet.

I've been using Resolution tennis shoes since version 5 and they mostly improved from 5 to 6 to 7. This latest revision is a big step back to my opinion. They are heavier and top material is stiffer. I hoped they would become better after a break in but this did not happen. After several months of wearing I still get toe blisters especially when playing in hot conditions where feet get wet sooner. The toe box has become wider and while some may find it more comfortable, I don't get the like-a-glove fit I had with earlier versions of the shoe. They also lost the low-to-the-ground feel that made court movement so confident with the earlier versions. To make things worse, shoe laces are weirdly very thin now and keep untieing. Overall, Res 7 were almost perfect in my book, but now I have to look elsewhere. Interestingly, Djokovich switched to a different shoe after Res 8 came out.

This was my second pair and I'm returning them because the Ellie's our way stiffer than the first pair I got I don't know if they used two different rubber because they are Le or what but they definitely didn't fit the same as the first pair

I have worn gel resolution shoes for the last five years but the "8" model is a disaster of style over function. The addition of a hard limit for lace extension at the 3-4th hole destroys its flexibility and makes it unsuitable for anyone with a high instep. It is a zero-value "innovation" created by a company that has lost touch with its customers.
