Have had these just over one month and both toe boxes have holes in them on the outside edges. Our last pair of NB shoes lasted over a year and I’m very disappointed in these.

Fell apart after one and a half months of wearing

After two months the mesh top had a hole in it.

This sneaker was a real disappointment. I have bought many pairs of New Balance sneakers for my kids and mostly they were fine. But not sure if I got a bad pair but this one developed a rip in both shoes near the toe area in just a matter of three weeks. And my son did nothing out of the ordinary with these sneakers so not sure why this ripped so quickly where his other NB sneakers normally last 5-6 months before they begin to develop tears or scuffs.

So disappointed in these shoes. Worn barely 2 months by my 5 year old and they are completely shredded and unwearable.

Fell apart after wearing for two weeks! Never had this experience with New Balance before! Horrible! Had to buy another brand of new shoes, now having to spend money on another pair of shoes after barely using!!

The shoe itself is stylish and comfortable, however, my son has been wearing these tennis shoes less than one month and the right shoe is falling apart. There is a two inch hole in the mesh across the side of the toe area and the toe guard itself is peeling away. I'm disappointed in the quality in this particular style of New Balance. He has others that have held up really well. This pair feels like a waste of money, as we are already having to replace them.

My son has worn them for school for approximate 6 weeks and already there are holes in both shoes at the seems. Very poor quality.

We’ve been buying New Balance shoes for the past 8 years for our boys, who have very wide feet, because the durability and selection of wide and xwide can’t be beat. We have always been very pleased with the quality of the shoe and have even been able to pass a few pairs on to younger siblings. This new version of mesh is not durable compared to the previous material used. This pair lasted no more than one month, when past pairs have lasted an entire season. We were so disappointed in the product change and hope New Balance goes back to their prior, much more durable materials.

Fell apart after two months of wearing. How hard is it to use a more durable thread to stitch the front part of these shoes so it does not wear down so fast!?! Does New Balance use real kids to test these shoes?!?

I have bought the 680 v5 for my sons before. I was always impressed by the great grip on the bottom of the shoe and the durability of it. Unfortunately, I was VERY DISAPPPOINTED in the flimsy breathable material used for the newer version 680 v6 shoe around the small toe area. After wearing these shoes for less than a month, my 8 year old had a hole on both right and left shoes where his smallest toe would rub against the material. New Balance should use a more sturdy material for the uppers of the shoe like they used to.

My 8 year old had these shoes for the new school year and they last 3 whole weeks before they had holes in the same spot on both shoes. He was only allowed to wear these to school, we have different shoes for home play. Terrible quality.

They lasted only 6 weeks! We love New Balance Shoes, but these are terrible quality. Most NB shoes have lasted my boys 6 months...the quality of this model is sorely lacking the typical NB quality. My son (6 years old) wore these to school daily...that's it. They couldn't hold up to playground time and blew out in all 4 corners on the same day. Look for something else...these aren't worth the money.

At first, my son loved these shoes. They were true to size but he has a wide foot and they were a little more snug than he liked. He has worn them to school for a little over a month and this morning I discovered that both shoes have a hole on the pinky toe side. Both shoes are completely ruined. We are very disappointed in these shoes!

This is the second pair of these sneakers that fell apart in 3 months time. My son isn’t even that hard on these sneakers, as he has separate ones for sports and for going out in the yard/getting dirty etc. these are completely coming apart. He’s worn many New Balance over the years and they usually hold up well and fit him nicely. Would not recommend these though.

These shoes were great for 30 days. Then my son came home from school with a HUGE tear in the top front part. I don’t even understand how this would happen. He says he was just running. Do not buy these.

I really loved these shoes to begin with. The color way is perfect for my son and he said they were comfortable and easy to get on. After 6 weeks, the mesh has totally worn through. He has multiple hole on both shoes. I now see others have had the same problem. It’s definitely an issue with this style so please steer clear.

I ordered these shoes 2 months ago for my son. Within 30 days, part of the sole was detached from one shoe. After a couple more weeks, there are holes worn on both sides- one larger than a nickel. We have bought many pairs of New Balance and never had them wear out this quickly!

I purchased this shoe for both of my sons. I already returned them, with an exchange once and here we are 2 months later and having to return the exchanged pair. Each time the shoe has only lasted 2-3 months. This shoe is comfortable, great for kids who don't have the extra time to tie the strings but the quality on this style is terrible. Mesh top is supposed to be better flexibility for kids during play and exercise but it doesn't hold up well. I wouldn't recommend buying this shoe unless it's in toddler size because it's definitely not made for much running around.

Fit and size good. Super comfy to wear. Only issue is that the shoes came apart in less than two months.

Terrible quality! Started coming apart at the seams within two weeks of moderate use.

My kid has blown through two pair of these (returned the first hoping they were lemons). We love NB but unfortunately these are terrible quality. All those photos are accurate.

These shoes fell apart after 6 weeks of normal wear. Unbelievable! We bought these because they still had Velcro closures in my son’s size, but there are now holes on both shoes on the left sides and the Velcro closure has fallen apart on one shoe. Time to teach my son how to tie shoes and go back to ASICS!

I generally like New Balance sneakers for my daughter’s narrow foot, but these fell apart after very light use. I am so disappointed! I don’t think I will buy New Balance again after this experience.
