The fabric around the toes in both shoes started to tear within weeks of getting the shoes for my five-year old.

I BOUGHT THIS SHOE IN JULY AND MY SON WORE IT TWICE AND THE SHOE ALREADY HAD A TEAR.

I see I'm not alone in being extremely disappointed. My daughter wore these for less than a few months before the mesh on front completely disintegrated. There's no easy way to seek recourse/replacement via retailer or New Balance. I can't believe these are still on display in our favorite local store and online. Even a cheap pair of kids shoes should last longer than this--not this brand that I had come to trust and respect. I will no longer buy New Balance for my kids or myself!!!

Have always loved new balance. After these shoes I doubt I'll buy from them again. My son was upset he thought he had caught them on something when the first tear started at week 4. By week 6 both sides of each shoe have large holes in fabric.

As other reviews have saidthese shoes have a serious design/quality flaw. Both of our kids have worm NB shoes for years with zero issues with wear and tear. They have always outgrown them before they fell apart. These shoes are torn on both feet, in the exact same place, where the reinforcement for the toe is sewn into the fabric upper. Our daughter has only worn them since the end of August and they were torn by early October. We have a friend who's daughter has the same shoe and had the exact same issue. NB did issue us a credit to purchase a new style after I alerted them to the issue. I hope they pull the style from sales. Beware, these are just a horrible purchase.

I bought 2 pairs of the 680v6 (one for my son and one for my daughter). The kids have worn them barely two months and both kids' shoes have the mesh separating from the front part of the shoe on the outside of the foot. It is similar to the pictures posted from others on this site. For it to happen to both my kids and to others, it appears that the shoe design is defective. I have always purchased NB shoes for the kids and NEVER had this problem. I also never write reviews, but for these shoes to last less than 2 months and for the price I paid, it's annoying.

Bought at a New Balance store, and had to return for a replacement 28 days later due to ripping out. Within 40 days the second pair is doing the same thing. After 16 years of dedicated brand loyalty, I will be going elsewhere. I'm very disappointed.

I bought these for my daughter on sept 7, 2021 and had to go buy different, new tennis shoes last night because the New Balance just fell apart. The mesh over the toes started coming apart at the sides. Ives never seen anything like it especially after not even 2 months of wear. Really disappointed.

Bought these from a licensed NB dealer in August and there's already a tear in the mesh where my child's pinky toe is. It's only mid October. This is the second pair of this exact model that has given her this problem. We thought the first pair started to tear at the sides of her toes because she had a growth spurt after a few months. Bought her a larger size. Nope. It happened again. It's the shoe!! Do not buy. Just awful.

2 months on my 2nd grader and I will need to buy new ones. I would not recommend these!
