This is by far best light-weight hiking boot that I have ever owned. It fits perfectly, both as to length and width, and required little or no break-in. The waterproofing works superbly, and it's comfortable enough to wear all day long. After my first pair, I ended up ordering two more in other colors. They have become my everyday winter shoe of choice. This is, however, last year's model, which Cole Haan has now discontinued. The replacement model, the 4.Zerogrand, is a great looking boot as well, but the fit is VERY different. That is actually the most important thing to know about Cole Haan's boots - the fit varies, model to model. I had given up on finding a Cole Haan boot that fit me until I tried these, from last year. And the new 4.Zerogrand does not fit me at all - it swallows my foot, unlike its predecessor. Some manufacturers use the same shoe last year after year, but Cole Haan appears to change their lasts from year to year, so what fits you one year may not fit at all the next year. If you find one that fits you, however, you will want to wear it all the time. So, if your foot is on the bulky side, you may find the new 4.Zerogrand to be perfect, but, otherwise, last year's Zerogrand may be just the ticket, if you can find it anywhere in your size (they are selling out very fast everywhere).

These are totally awesome boots, and I can't wait to get them in the right size. I ordered the 10W and its too big. Will try the 9.5W or 10 regular. These boots are better looking and lighter than I was anticipating.
