These feel springy and responsive, I guess the word I might use is 'snappy'. On more technical trails I feel like I want a shoe that helps me feel enough of the ground that I won't faceplant but still rigid enough that it doesn't hurt. The Caldera is a good balance of having support but also giving enough feel and response to know what's underfoot and a bit of spring-back for every step.

A very comfortable shoe I use for walking and hiking. It lives up to the Brooks name in comfort, cushion, and fit. This is my first pair of Caldera shoes but it won't be my last.

Feels like you're walking on a cloud! I have back problems and am on my fleet all day. These shoes make that bearable. Love this bran and this style sneaker.

Great shoe. Feels like I'm running on air. Only issue is the heal rubs too hard against my ankle and causes it to blister.

I ordered these shoes because there were no wide women's trail shoes. They are extremely comfortable and have a lot of cushion. My husband and I hike trails every weekend here in Arizona and so far the Caldera is holding up quite well. We tend to mainly have rocks and dirt for our trails. The treads on these shoes have kept me from sliding and slipping as we go up and down the hills and valleys. Definitely would recommend these shoes!

Only worn them about 25 miles. Great but not near puddles or wet grass. They fit well and they have kush.

I run about 90 miles per week so comfort is important. Caldera fit the bill for me. This is my second pair and likely not my last.

These "trail" shoes are excellent for natural trails, gravel, dirt, and even paved pathways. At my local park, we have a mixture of all surface types and the Calderas keep pace as I transition from one trail to another. Brooks really paid attention to the little things on this shoe, like the lace-keepers, heel cup and sole design. The main part of the shoe is made for a sturdy material, but the shoes are very comfortable. I feel sure-footed even when going up very loose-rocked inclines, and am confident hitting all the trails. I would even use these on the street if I needed to. I think they stack up well with any road shoes out there.

These are my #1 shoe. The moment you put them on you have that comfort feeling with each step. A cushion like none other I have tried. Stable on the road or trail. I will buy Caldera over and over again.

I've always been a fan of the Caldera line, but I love the newest version! With a nearly complete over hall the Caldera 4 is almost a totally new shoe, starting with a very breathable upper that also allows for good drainage when they get wet. The tongue even feels better and the shoe lace trap still does the trick! With a slightly thicker BioMoGo DNA midsole at 33mm there is even more plushness to the ride that is very noticeable on short and long runs. Thankfully Brooks kept the 4mm heel offset, which is one of the reason I started using this shoe in the first place. The completely redesigned outsole is a dream! With the TrailTack material used from heel to toe and the increased lug depth this shoe sticks to everything that the Caldera 3 slipped and slided on. The TrailTack rubber is long lasting and accommodates a road to trail lifestyle very easily without fear of prematurely wearing out that rubber. My only complaint is that I have a problem locking the heel down, as if the heel counter isn't aggressive enough to hold the heel in place. That isn't a deal breaker though, I just use the runners knot and it seems to do the trick. Love this shoe!

Out of the box the shoes are great. The roomy toebox is nice and they are great on the trail. I do a mix of paved trail and dirt / mountain trails and these work great on both.

It's like running on clouds, even on rough uneven trails. This is my second pair. I'm between sizes, and opted for the larger one. Still, my feet are snug and kept tight. I can feel the soles grip regardless of the surface, whether pavement, dirt, or tree roots. My feet could run forever, but unfortunately my lungs give out way sooner.

Great fit & comfort. Love the glove like fit of the upper. Lace retainer is a nice touch. Excellent cushioning and stability.!! Second only to The Beast. Super grippy outsole. As a podiatrist The Beast has been my go to shoe for 20 years. It still is because I wear orthotics. But the Caldera 4 is the Next best shoe and In 2020 this it looks 10X's better than The Beast

Were there shoes on my feet? I am not a runner but was looking for a shoe that I could hike with. The Caldera 4 did not disappoint. I did a 14 mile hike today with 2500 feet of elevation gain. We topped out at almost 9800 feet. I am 5'4" and 180 pounds and I forgot I had shoes on. Yes, that comfy.

I normally run in the Glycerins, but I have been getting out on the trails more lately and needed something with better traction. The Calderas fit my feet really well and they are much better in the dirt/mud/gravel.
