I've been running in Brooks for almost 10 years experimenting with different neutral road running shoes. I fell in love with the feel, responsiveness and comfort of the Levitate 1's and have trying to find them everywhere. Levitate 2 & 3 both have the sock style ankle opening and I am not a huge fan. I appreciate the added comfort, secure fit and extra cushioning of the original Levitate 1. Please bring that back or make them available for purchase. Thank you, Jeff

I have purchased 2 versions of the Brooks Levitate 2 and now 3. I have had to return them both and get a half size smaller. In all other styles of Brooks I have worn in the past I wear an eight. I will be exchanging the shoes for a 7.5. They are good shoes with great arches and comfort.

I've really enjoyed the Levitate line for my distance running. This was the first pair that needed a little breaking in - a little tight out of the box on my first few runs. However, once I had a few miles in them, I comfortably ran a half marathon with no issues.

Ok I really do love this shoe BUT I wish the designers would have stuck with the toe area like the Bedlam. I'm not a fan of the mesh. Brooks is the best! The fit ect. is perfect!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the shoes, I just have not gotten to the point of being able to wear short socks as the back of the shoe continues to dig into my heel. The fit of the shoe is great, and they are very comfortable outside of that. Maybe my foot just isn't quite designed for the shoe.

The shoe is overall really well built. The only complaint that I have is that the heel tab digs into the skin. I enjoy running sock less, but find that this is the only pair of Brooks in which I need to wear socks. I love the overall design, but hope that future designs include a more forgiving heel tab.

I have run in all 3 generations of the levitate. Still a great energy return shoe, but I think the 2nd generation is still my favorite. Not a fan of the new laces.

The other reviewers who mentioned that these are slightly narrower than usual were correct. Additionally, these shoes tend to rub uncomfortably against the back of the heels (but ordering a half-size up might solve that problem.) Otherwise I'm a huge Brooks fan. I decided to get the ol' faithful GTS instead.

The fit is great, it breathes easily, and the cushioning is comfortable on long runs. It is a bit heavier than other models, though which detracts from possible use for any PRs

I was hesitant to go with these after reading other reviews and the comments on how the shoe was tough on people's achilles (I've torn my achilles twice), but I haven't had the same experience as others. There seems to be a little more cushioning than previous models and the fit over the top of the foot feels great. I went with the all Navy. While there's been a little shifting and stretching along some of the seams, exposing a little of the glue, they've held up well. (Average 20 miles/week on a treadmill and cross-training.)

Miss the old pair first version, I need a free moving heel, with the new style there is a pad in the heel that locks it in, starts to pull my achilles when I pick up the pace, other then that I love everything else about it. Take the pad out and I give it 10 stars

First let me say I have been really happy with this shoe. The Levitate 3 has been the most comfortable running shoes I have had. Before switching to the Levitate 3 I had been running in the Adrenaline GTS 20. The Adrenaline got me back to wearing Brooks since my last pair, the GTS 6. As good as the Adrenaline was I like the Levitate even more. The only down side I have had with the Levitate 3 is just how excessively they wear. I'm no serious runner, I do have a high arch and tend to underpronate. This has caused wear in the usual area of the shoe. After 3 months and 170 miles the Levitate 3 is showing excessive wear to the point that it is wearing in to the midsole. It took more than twice as long for the GTS 20 to get to this point.

These shoes lived up to their billing, providing a lot of "spring in my step" during my runs. They fit true to size and were extremely comfortable. I was not a fan of the heel configuration and no matter what I tried, could not get them to feel snug and secure back there. I sent them back after a few runs and exchanged for the Ghost 12. All in all a great shoe, just not a great shoe for me. Happy running!

Bought Bedlam's before this purchase, it doesn't have as much arch support and feels narrow in the toe box area.

Don't get put off by the 3/5 star rating! This just wasn't the right shoe for ME, but it may be for you. When I first put the shoe on, it felt great... but I underpronate, and my feet didn't have the structure I needed to maintain a solid gait, so by mile 1, my feet felt like they were destroyed. Overall, it's a sharp looking shoe, that breathes GREAT, and is well put together... but if you underpronate, it may not be the show for you.

The shoe cut into the back of my heel from the beginning. Once I started wearing longer socks it is ok. Love the feel of the shoe while running but someone needs to look into the design as I have read several other reviews were runners had the same problem.

So I have a pair of the Levitate 2 and I love them but the 3's don't seem as comfortable and are tight in the toes. But I will continue to buy Brooks because they are the best on the market for me just not 100% satisfied with this shoe.

Was so excited to try these and they came right out of the box with a glue spot on the toe. Not a huge deal to some but it makes the shoe look dirty.

The shoes look good but there is something wrong with the heel that cause my archiles tendon to bruise.

I run about 25 miles a week and am just finishing my third week with the shoes. Generally I like them good fit and support. But for me, there has been one huge drawback the seam at the very back of the shoe has rubbed the back of my ankles (the skin over the Achilles' tendon) raw. These are my first Brooks shoes, and initially I was intrigued by the unique elastic design at the back of the shoe. I thought I would love that feature, but it has turned out to be a nightmare. I'm still running in the shoes because they were expensive, but I'm going through the bandages. Perhaps it's just the shape of my ankle, but beware. . . .

Design of heel tends to hurt it, as it has no cushion and it is high. Need high socks to compensate. Unexpected for this type of shoe. Otherwise it is a good pair.

A great show all around. However, the cut is too rigid and digs into the achilles tendon/skin if high ankle socks aren't worn.

I feel the energy return at a fast pace. if you are just jogging, they are pretty stiff for a comfortable run. Also, they are far too heavy for a good every day running shoe.

Had to return them. The fit was big and the sock liner irritated my heel. Not for me. Going back to the Glycerin.
