they were not what I was looking for, didn't have enough cushion and seem stiff also I thought they were a bit heavy I sent them back and bought the Ghost 12. I think a much better shoe there light , has the cushion I need and was comfortable the minute I put them on no breaking in. I have serious problems with my feet and I will stick to the Ghost line.

They were nice looking, but much wider in the toe than the 2019 model. This, I had to return them.

I am in my late seventies. This shoe has the good support that I need, because I walk at least 2, and sometimes 4 miles on hilly country road daily or as often as weather allows. I do wear my arch supports in them. I have pronation and flat feet. I have recovered from plantar fasciitis and do not want to go there again.

I like 2018 or last years model better. For some reason these did not provide the support I?m used to.

They run small & narrow. I usually wear an 8M but due to recent foot surgery with swelling, I ordered an 8W. Not only were they not wide but they were also short. I reordered an 8.5W & they are the same width as an old 8.5M i had (bought the extra length when my feet began to smell at the end of the day). I guess my next pair will need to be 8.5XW for my other foot surgery next winter. Otherwise they are great shoes. Nice looking, good support, comfy insoles.

These are very comfortable. I purchased them for walking. I feel the toe is a little short, though. I am overall pleased with these shoes.

I love the way this new Ariel looks. The colors are such an improvement over prior models. I'm not so sure about the fit. This Ariel is a comparable fit to the 2018 model--right up to the toes. Across the toes, though, they are narrower (I measured both models-the 2020s are in fact narrower at the toes) and squeezes the toes.

I was looking for a wide walking shoe. I actually ordered these in a wide size hoping for a bigger toe box. They are no wider than a regular shoe. So disappointing. And my plantar fasciitis came back after walking in them for a month. It went away after wearing the old school wide Altras. Then it came back back when I switched to these.

Only wore for about 4 hours. The insole at the heel is extremely hard not cushiony at all. These will most likely set in the back of my closet. Felt a little smaller than any of my other 7 wides. Toe box was good. Would not buy another pair of brooks. I had heard good things about them so decided to give them a try. No impressed at all. They are cute but that's all.
I'd also recommend:

Have only worn a few times. I liked the way I could actually walk faster and felt stable, as I'm 79 and a walker. I wore them to an all day event walking about 5 miles and my feet did hurt and sting especial under toe area. Rested for a little while and feet felt a little better so I could walk to train. I will continue to try them out.

I ordered these as everyday shoes for walking and errands. My feet are a hot mess with high arches, Morton's Neuroma, and autoimmune disorders that continually cause inflammation where my body takes a beating. So, my normal size is a 10, wide if necessary in a shoe that doesn't stretch well. These were fabric, so went with a 10 and it turned out to be a perfect size. I compared these with Sketchers Archfit (size 10) and Fitflop F-mode (size 10). Overall, the feel of the Brooks Ariel 20 was similar to the other two shoes. However, it did not have the pull-strap on the back of the shoe, which made putting them on more difficult as I had to bend further to put them on. The back of the shoe actually got tucked into the shoe when I put them on, so had to stick my hand in to pull it out. With back issues, this was not ideal. Also, I did not feel enough arch support for my high arches. For those two reasons and two other additional better options, I returned this pair. I hope this helps for those looking for support and comfort for everyday shoes for painful feet.

Loved the look of the shoe, but even though I sized up a half size it was still too short. Bought the wide, which I normally wear, but it was very tight. Didn't get a chance to try em out because they did not fit. Returned.

Fit pretty good, comfortable, breathable, but became damaged really easily. I'm not even sure what happened to tear them as I don't think there were any traumatic incidents, but within two weeks of owning them they were torn.

So far the shoes have been alright as far as fit and support. I think they were a little too cushioned for my feet and I had to add extra support for my toes but I really like how they don't crowd my toes and that has helped some with my toe pain. What really disappointed me with these shoes is that about a month in I had somehow already worn the outside to the point they almost have a home on the big toe. I'm not sure how I did it but the fabric just hasn't held up. For the price I would have liked them to last longer than a couple months.

Did not really like how the front did not have a lot of support. Feel like my toes were hitting the front all the time. Returning it.

I've had Brooks before and I wanted to like these but the short tongue on these shoes was disappointing for me. It's just hard to pull out a short tongue when you want to slide your feet in quickly. Have to return them.

Returned. Ordered 9M which is size I have worn for Adrenaline GTS 19, 20, 21. The wider toe bed was good. The heel was too big, so heel slipped no matter how laced or tightened. Not good for narrow heel; however, the cushioning for heel area was good. Shoe laces too short. Mid section definitely not good for my lack of arch and pronation. Use orthotics with shoes. Use for walking.

I have been buying Ariel shoes for a number of years. For the past two years, the left shoe has developed an odd slash on the top right. This year, the upper right of the right shoe has also separated from the sole. Not the whole thing, just the rigid blue.

I have always loved my Brook Ariel's. But the last few years you have made them with a wide toe box instead of the Regular toe box which was not so wide. It is just too big and your foot slops around in the shoes. I have now had to go to a different shoe that is not as supportive for my crippled foot. I need the heel and ankle support that Ariel give. I started wearing Ariel's when it was Beast for women.

The back should be a bit stiffer so it doesn't crumple when I am putting on my shoes. You should use some kind of Scotch Guard like protection to keep them from getting stained so easily. They are too expensive. Could use more room in the toe box area.
