This was my sixth and last pair of beasts. They are very comfortable shoes, but I scuffed the fabric on the toe, and it ripped. I thought they should be able to stand a little rubbing without hurting the material. I will keep wearing them because functionally they are great, unfortunately they don't look too good.

Had to return. Not the same quality as the earlier "Beast" models. A real disappointment. I've owned several "Beast" models in the past, and always found them to be exceptionally comfortable and supportive. Not so with the Beast 20.

I feel like the Brooks quality has gone way way way down. We will see how long this pair lasts compared to the pair I have been wearing since 2017.

I've been running in the Brooks Beast for years. Still using my Brooks Beast 18's and whatever version came before that in triathlons and training runs. Since both are probably long past due for replacement, I ordered the Beast 20s. On my FIRST run (and second wearing) of 5 miles I got a blister on the back of my right foot. Keep in mind I have never had a blister from the two previous models. I suppose I will have to find another shoe that provides maximum support (for over-pronation), since the Beast no longer appears to be an option.

I love this shoe... I really do. However, there seems to be an issue with quality, on this, and the last two Beast 20s, I've owned. Although the shoe offers great support (why I bought it) the fabric on the inside right cuff always seems to begin to break apart and split open after about only a week's wear! Again, this has happened with my last two pairs of Brooks Beast 20s, as well as with three different sets of new 20s that I just purchased! And this is not strong wear either, just day to day wear. While this does not affect the shoe's performance (at least I don't think it does), it does make the shoe cosmetically unpleasant and old/busted up well before it should. It looks like my shoes have been worn for a year after only a week! Plus, nothing on a new shoe should be failing/coming apart after only one week. I hope Brooks considers fixes this quality issue or else I'm going to have to look for another brand for my next pair of shoes.

I have worn the breast model over the pass several years and these have been a disappointment. They don't seem to be as supportive as all my pass models and comfortable as pass shoes

I love the support. With my extreme arches and deep pronation the Beast has always been a shoe of choice for me. But something is different with the '20 model. The tongue is not a wide and the edging and stitch digs into the top of my foot and I can't tighten the laces properly because of how uncomfortable and down right painful it is during the work day.

Sub par quality. I've had my shoes for only a few weeks and they're already showing signs of extreme wear and tear - even though I only run three times a week on a treadmill. Not sure if the quality is overall down or if I just got a pair of Lemons. Extremely dissatisfied in these and I've been wearing Brooks for years.

My Brooks Beast 18s were one of the greatest sneakers I have ever owned. Extremely comfortable, supportive, airy, wide toe box, and bullet-proof both inside and out. (I am 6'3", 215 lbs, wear 14 4Es, and do not care about sneaker weight.) But after more than FOUR YEARS of daily use (walking, hiking, gym) I grudgingly had to replace my worn-out Beast 18s. Buying the Beast 20s seemed like a no-brainer. Like the 18s, the Beast 20s gave a good first impression: they fit me well, and seemed both airy and comfortable. However, after ONE MONTH my 20s now give me blisters on my right heel because of one of the two seams in the heel (my blister-free Beast 18s had zero heel seams). To date, the one word that best describes the Brooks Beast 20s is: Detroitish. Exterior of the Beast 18 vs. Beast 20: The armored toe of the 18 is far superior protection-wise to the easily-crushed/dented toe of the 20. The armored heel of the 18 is also far superior to the 20s heel. I miss how the laces of the 18 extended further towards my toes vs. the more compact lacing of the 20s. My big wide feet feel much more secure in the Beast 18s. I am also unsure how well the different laces on the 20s will hold up, To my surprise, I also miss the little toe reflectors that the 18s had. Interior of the Beast 18 vs. Beast 20. I wear orthotics for pronation, and I also employ lacing techniques to keep my heels seated. For decades I have destroyed the inner liners of sneakers long before wearing the whole sneaker out. I am still STUNNED that after four years the interiors of the Beast 18s are still in brand-new condition. Amazing!!! But then (sigh) there is the Beast 20. The 20s appear to use the same bullet-proof liner in the 18s, but there is one major difference: coverage. In the 18s, the amazing liner basically wraps around the entire back half of my foot, but in the 20s, this liner barely covers my Achilles area. Brooks decided to use a second type of liner in the Beast 20s, and because of this, there are now two seams in the heel area. So far, three of the four seams have been off my radar, but the outer seam in my right sneaker is literally a constant source of blistering irritation. Summary of Beast 18 vs. Beast 20. Obviously I think that the Beast 18s are totally superior to the Beast 20s. However, I did manage to identify one feature of the Beast 20s that actually improves upon the Beast 18s: unlike the Beast 18s, the Beast 20s have a little loop in the center of the sneaker down by my toes to thread a shoelace through. I intend to return my Beast 20s to Brooks. PS - I would love Brooks to build an all-weather sneaker (in size 14 4E) that slots between a Beast 18 and a hiking boot...a Beast 18 on steroids. Comfortable, supportive, bullet-proof...but with a breathable rainproof liner and exterior heel loops. Instead of following in the footsteps of the Detroit automakers by cheapening Brooks' product and relying heavily on your reputation to generate future repeat sales, please build what I want...versus what Brooks thinks I will accept.

I am giving a two at best, the reason why is they do work well on gravel. Other then that not much good to say about the Beast 20. Makes my feet hurt and very uncomfortable. I bought them because I have been using the Beast shoes for years my first pair was the Beast 16, if I could find any of the older models I would buy them all up. But no such luck. Hopefully they will go back to the older style.

Very, very disappointing shoe. I have tried 5 different models and settled upon the beast 20. I am new to Brooks and tried them after a long time Brooks fanatic suggested to do so. I overpronate and need extra cushion for my 2 mile daily walks. The description was perfect. At first the shoe was impressive but at the 10 mile mark both of my feet started ache, especially my right heel. I then tried 4 different pairs of the beast 20 with the same result, right around the 10 mile mark. One good thing I will say is that customer service is excellent.

I bought these shoes on recommendation of my podiatrist, due to several foot issues. The fit and comfort are excellent as is, and even better after being fit with orthotics. I'm moderately active, with walking and tai chi as my main routines. However, I'm very disappointed in the sturdiness of the shoes, especially the rubber pads on the bottom. Many of them have lifted and I've had to gorilla glue them back in place. It seems like the quality assurance of the construction is subpar. It's unfortunate because my foot problems have largely cleared up and I love the comfort of these shoes. I just wish they were built better.

There is a stretchy collar around the top of this shoe and it has a thick fold stitched down in the back. It hits my heal above my sock and I bleed.

I've been a long-time Brooks enthusiast but the Beast was a let-down. I ordered my usual size but the shoe felt small and narrow. Also, compared to my other Brooks shoes, these are a bit too clunky to be good for running. (I guess the name "Beast" should have been a tip-off.) However, this is definitely a good looking shoe. Maybe order a half-size up and get the wider width for a comfortable (but pricey) walking shoe.

I'm normally an 8.5. I vary between normal and wide width depending on the brand. I've got flat feet and overpronation. Tired these in 8.5 and they were too small. Ended up in a 9 wide. They fit great, but the toe guard thing collapses and rubs against my big toe. I can't fathom the purpose of it. They're otherwise comfortable, but I can't deal with the toe guard thing.

Zappos sent the wrong width Brooks Beast shoe. The size I ordered was 10.5 4X wide. The size sent was 10.5 Width 2x wide. I will request a refund.
