in my opinion these aren't even comparable to the beast 18. It really seems like the quality went down. The beast 18 I could do everything from hiking to going on a casual walk. The beast 20 on the other hand, my feet slide out in them, I can only walk in them because being active while wearing them hurts.

I have been buying a pair of Brooks Beasts every six months for about 20 years. These shoes were recommended by my Podiatrist because of their extraordinary support (I have flat feet and wear arch supports). I wear them every day, alternating between three pairs, and generally have been extremely satisfied. Over the past few years or so I have been experiencing very premature failure of the cloth area around where you put your foot into the shoe. This failure was not a problem prior to about 2017. It appears these new Brooks Beasts are designed somewhat differently and I hope they last longer. I am as you can tell a very loyal customer, but have been looking for a replacement that does not wear out as quickly.

They're great if you have flat feet, very roomy and I'm able to step down without landing on the guides or grippers built into most shoes. Very light but honestly not much cushion or a soft landing for your feet. If you're walking maybe it would be better but not good for my 13 hour nursing shifts.

New beast does not have the center support, and heel support of the 2019 model. But it is lighter that is a positive. It is more fashionable and slightly less practical in terms of foot support. The 10 had little less room in front than 2019 modal. I had to buy a 10 and a 10.5.
Not sure if I will keep both.

Feels different than Beast 18. I've been running on Beasts for over 16 years and the Beast 20 is still a good shoe, but I'm giving it 3 stars because it feels noticeably different that the earlier Beast in that it feels noticeably less "cushiony" than the Beast 18. I can put my old 18's on and feel it side-by-side..it feels like there is less cushion and that the cushioning used is stiffer. Feels like it took one step toward being a "connect" shoe. The Beast 20 is noticeably lighter than the 18 and the fit is still consistent with earlier Beasts, but I'm disappointing in that I don't feel the same running on soft clouds feel I was use to and expecting.

Not the Beast of old. I bought another pair of the Beasts, as it has been my go-to shoe for both running and walking. Being a larger guy, over 250, this has ALWAYS been been my go to shoe, providing support, cushioning and stability. If you’re someone who is still looking for all of that, and are larger, look elsewhere. The Beast is no longer “it.” They have taken cushioning to an extreme in the heel, making it so mushy there isn’t a lot of stability. Can a shoe have too much cushioning? Yes if you’re larger it feels like you’re running on unstable soft ground. They cheapened the shoe everywhere else as well. Style? What style? The shoes were getting more and more ugly, until they came out with these, the worst they’ve EVER done. What in the heck happened to Brooks? For $160, I will look elsewhere. Fortunately I found some old ones at an out town shoe store and bought their stock. But I think when the old ones die, I’m done with Brooks Beast. A shame, they used to be great shoes for larger people.

It's a great shoe in terms of everyday life. I purchased it to walk/run and it just didn't fit my needs.

Beast 20 is running smaller in width and length than Beast 18. I take 13 4E (14 4E was to big) in Beast 18 and first pair of 20 shoe is tight. Width okay and with mesh front shoe is working. Do believe it is well cushioned and stable plant. I walk 6 plus miles a day and be curious to see how long pair lasts before cushioning deteriorates?
Be nice to have more color selections also.

I prefer the Beast 18 it was more stable and not as flimsy as the 20. To much stretch material on top of the shoes in the front shoe box which makes it more unstable.

It seems the new 2020 Beast has less arch support and padding which I need. I've bought The Beast shoe for many years because of that so I was a little disappointed.

Roomy and good cushioning.
Would like to use more outdoors but we have a governor that has us locked down for 8+ weeks. Hopefully I'll get to put them to a real test before the end of summer.

This shoe would have been my 4 experience with Brooks Beast. This new rendition is to cushy for me. Since i have fat feet firm is important. I am an old guy 78 and walk I do not run . Since my left foot is an 11 1/2 D and my right foot is 11 1/4 barely D the wide front of the shoe compared to older models made it impossible for to wear the right shoe without slippage. I used the shoe outlets to make the shoe fit as tight as I could and it do not solve the problem . I think you normal width is probably a D plus rather than the original D. Therefore I was forced to return the shoes

I think the Beast DNA was a better shoe, more stable, the top material felt better to me, I liked the blue color better than black and I think the DNA was a bigger shoe all around and I liked that too.
