Overall pretty good as with all Brooks shoes. Pretty expensive, and not any more comfortable than my Addiction walkers which were out of stock. Finding a size 15 extra wide is no easy task, so I had to take what they had. I am on my feet all day, and walk 3 miles every day during my lunch. My addiction walkers had almost 400 miles on them. I'm sure I'll change back to them as soon as they get more in stock.

He has had Beast 20, size 14 4E, and desperately needed a new pair. Only had them in 14 EE. Disappointed when told Beast 22 was delayed until 2023! Hope you make plenty of the 4E width. Will have to find a different shoe if supply becomes such an issue in the future.

It is still the best shoe for my heavy frame and flat feet. However, there is a lot of room for improvement. The top layer of the insole comes unglued within the first month. The shoes also gets uglier and uglier with each design iteration. I don't know why they have to this huge ugly white bottom instead of a color-matched sole or black.

I've worn these shoes for 12 years and have gone through many pairs. They have stood the test of time. However, there have been changes to the Beast 20 versus prior versions. It still fits well, but somehow it just doesn't walk the same as before. The craftsmanship has also declined, and I notice a big difference compare to earlier models. Lastly, I don't love the new shoe laces. They don't say laced nearly as well compared to old ones; they feel more cheap. The old ones gripped really well to each other when tied, so I am now using them on the new shoes.

Not as solid as the previous beast. Loved the previous stability. Will go to another model but Brooks is the Best.

This is my 2nd pair of Beast 20. Men's 9 2E. Unfortunately, returned as less wide than my current pair. Shoe top material not as giving, toe box narrower. Not a runner, first pair is the only shoe I can wear reasonably comfortably d/t bi Morton's neuroma. Had hoped to order a men's 4E, not in stock. Disappointed, as have searched high & low for painfree shoes.

The construction is not that sturdy specially on the big toe side for me at least on right side as e I have bought ripped from that side. Therefore I bought another one and it looks like it is going to do same thing. The previous models of Beast that I bought in prior years never had this issue.

I bought these because my old favorite, the New Balance M1540v3, wasn't available in my size. They're comfortable, but the cushioning feels to me like too much of a good thing. I can feel my foot sink in at every step, which means I'm losing energy, like walking on the beach. Also don't believe the "black ebony gray" description. The very deep sole on these is bright white and the upper is jet black. If you want to be inconspicuous this is not the shoe for you.

These were my first Brooks, I got them because of a recent condition I was diagnosed with (Hallux Rigidus) and my doctor recommended some good brands with rigid shoes. This is the most I have paid for shoes but I have to say they are the most comfortable I have ever owned. The bad thing is, after only a few months the front rubber Is separating from the shoe. I can't see paying 160 for shoes that fall apart after a few months.

Shoe fell short of desired arch support. As an over-pronater with flat feet, I need greater arch support. Older versions of Beast (pre '20) preferred.
I'd also recommend:
Older versions of Brooks Beast.

I have worn Brooks "The Beast" since 2012 . I chose them for the excellent support and stability following ACL transplants. The clerk at the footwear shop suggested them after I told him what the orthopedic surgeon wanted to protect my knee. Sadly the changes in the Brooks products and finally The Beast have me searching for a better product. The change in the soles may be a money saver for Brooks but the easily damaged flimsy foam in the two pair of Adrenalines literally chunked off. I cannot imagine who thought these changes equal an improvement. The new Brooks Beasts appear to have the new soles as well. My husband no longer feels they are comfortable. I think the soles lack support and stability. Bad decision Brooks. It will result in loss of sales since they are no longer a good value. It makes me sad. Five Stars...No More.

I'm not a 'review writer' but I wanted to add my two cents. The Brooks Beast has been my shoe for many years. Like the other reviewers, I agree, this model (BB '20) is less supportive. The sole bends when I walk in a way that the other models never have. I am never aware of my feet when I wear a 'Beast', which is why I wear them, but with model BB'20, I am. I really hope that Brooks goes back to the older, more supportive, more rigid construction. There are plenty of shoes out there which are light and bend with the ground. If you wear a Beast, you wear it because it is supportive enough for all day walking and you never feel the ground. For me, no joke, it's part shoe, part public service. I hope it comes back. To clarify, it's not 'uncomfortable' which is why I gave it 3 stars. But in the past they were magic. I would like the magic back please.

I have been using Brooks Beast over 10 years. The quality of the material used in Beast 20 is dismal, already cloth covering the toe is coming apart. I am fine with the guiderail and the sole which are only the positive about the Shoe. All other materials lack quality. I liked the Beast 18. Please bring back features of Beast18.

I have worn the Beast for many years. My favorite pair is 12 yrs old and though i only use it for mowing, it still has heel support, arch, heel, and front side support. I bought a new pair last year--most of the support is gone--the part that comes up vertically behind teh heel is completely softened, no longer stiff. I tried on a new pair and was not impressed, the price should be MUCH lower, by half. There are no other shoes to offer in the brand, so the product for me has ended. Sorry Brooks, but it was great while it lasted.

The Beast 20 doesn't last as long as previous versions. After about 2 months, feels like I'm walking on naked ground. Also, please add more colors to the Beast. There's only 2 choices, which are drab. New Balance and Hoka have more choices in colors than you. Colors are in. Let's jazz it up some now.

Unfortunately, I have to amend my very favorable review posted April 26, 2021. I really liked these shoes. At about 120 miles or so, I began developing a blister on the inside of my left heel. I thought this odd since I had never had this problem before. So I would just bandage up my heel before each run. Today, after my run I removed the laces and the inner liner to closely examine the shoe. It appears that the plastic cup that cradles my heel has broken leaving a well defined ridge where my heel makes contact. It probably wouldn't be noticeable in an every day shoe, but really becomes a problem on 5-6 mile daily runs. I started to contact Brooks about this, but since I already have about 150 miles in these shoes, and usually replace my shoes every 300-400 miles, I just let it go. For the time being, I taped a (don't laugh) panty liner inside the shoe, and will still bandage my heel to try and get another few miles out of them. However. I doubt that I will try another pair. Don't get me wrong, Brooks shoes are great. I'm just no longer a fan of Beast 20.

worst Beast I have purchased and this was my 6 or 7th Pair. My 19 were far superior. You failed this model 20. Really disappointed but will look elsewhere
