I consistently purchase the Beast because it provides the degree of support and comfort I seek in running shoe. I also like that I can easily insert my orthotics into shoes simply by removing the cushion insert. It might be nice to have a wider range of colors to select from--grey and black are fine, but other choices like blue or green would be great!

Best motion control shoe out there?particularly for those of us who are skinny, yet still over 200 lbs. As a podiatrist, I always direct my patients to Brooks!

I do not run. I have severe plantar faciitis in both feet to the point I cannot walk on a bare floor. My podiatry doctor recommended Brooks for support of the arch in my feet while walking. I originally had the standard Beast and now the Beast 20; both the grey The 20 seems to have more heel support. I have found the black vs the gray seem to have some variation in the toe box, which does not make sense just because of the color. Of all the different Brooks shoes, the Beast has the best support for fallen arches. Tried other brands advertising arch support but set them back for a refund. I also have bunions and so require the 4EE width. The insert and the side support seem to wear out about 3 months and I buy another pair. This last time I bought two pair so I would have one ready. I am a real estate appraiser and as such go up and down many sets of stairs in the course of a week. If Brooks has a shoe which gives more of the arch and side support I have not found it, with the 4EE width. I hope folks that need a shoe for foot medical reasons similar to mine feel comfortable trying this Brooks Beast model. I recommend the Beast.

Love the new Beast 20. Wish there would have been more colors selections in my size 13 4e.

I mostly run trails, so I use the beast for walking, daily stuff etc, but if I ran on roads I think it would be great, from my experience walking in it. Here's a few things I like about it and some areas I think could be improved.
Likes for 16 and 20 beasts: beefy comfort, overall looks, wide widths!!
Criticism: length-I wish they made a 13.5 (their 13 is too short for me, compared to 13s in other brands, and their 14 is too big for me, although I can kind of use it. I hope they make their shoes in 13.5
Another criticism for me is the color choices! I think this shoe would be even more awesome with some more color. Right now I think it has too limited color options. I'd love the true blue they use for their adrenaline, and they could make some with more "exciting" colors!
Details:
I've had the beast 16 before, and I liked it a lot. A 13.5 would have been perfect for me, but I went with the 14 and it was ok, not too bad, but I hope they make 13.5 at least in some of their popular models.
20 beast: I actually loved this beast when I first saw it. A lot of people were at first unsure cause it shed some of the previous pieces it had. But actually it retains its beefy sole especially while being a bit more sleek. I think it's still tough, but has a "smooth" exterior! The sole beef is quite strong and the exterior rubber on the sole is excellent as it is for all their models I think.
I like the wide widths, but I think the lengths could be improved, as mentioned earlier. I think they need to make a 13.5 cause their 13s in general seem to be shorter than true 13s in my experience with the ghost and adrenaline 13s, cause I wear 13s in most other brands but find Brooks 13s to be short, so I am forced to go with 14s which are a bit too long.
Generally, I'd say the beast 20 is my favorite beast, compared to the 16 and 18 which I've worn.
The two main criticisms I have are: the 13s for Brooks shoes in general are too short for me, I'd go crazy for 13.5s if they made them!!
And the other critic is color!! I wish the beast 20 had some more color options. I'd suggest the true blue that's been on their previous models, and also perhaps something else like an orange or red or some other bright color. I like the navy with the gray, but I think something a bit more playful would also be great if they could!
The shoe in general I think is excellent!

I am very happy with my new shoes. They are replacing my Beast 18s. This is my third pair of Brooks. They are very comfortable and very supportive. Especially if you have foot problems, these are great shoes. Very satisfied customer!

Three stars due to really nice quality shoe; top notch materials and nicely finished. My son is a severe over pronator, and his favorite shoe is no longer made. He has tried several brands/models and the Beast was one of them. For him, the Beast was hard on his knees and the support for his over pronation too stiff. He did think the cushioning was very good though, which is important for over pronators.

I have flat feet and knee problems as a result. The Beast is the only shoe allows me to run without pain.

Very comfortable, light weight and it breathes good, very easy to adjust how tight a fit you want by just pulling the strings.

The Beast 20s don't appear as rugged as my previous pair but I really appreciate how light and comfortable they are. If they hold up well, I'll buy again. I'm not a runner. A two mile a day fast walker and I wear these shoes all day.

These are the most comfortable Beasts ever. I've worn Beasts on and off for seven or eight years, because at 220 lbs, I am a broken down old athlete with flat feet, over pronation, and medial collapse of my ankles. I've tried them all, and The Beast has always been the best and most supportive running shoe specifically designed to prevent over pronation. The sidebars in the older shoes, including the Beast 18s were effective, but felt stiff, harsh against the medial ankle. The Beast 20's are more cushioned, provide just as much support, and feel light...really flexible, but solid. The new mesh is water resistant, and looks great, even after playing 18 holes in wet grass. Yes, I even prefer them to my golf shoes, because they offer more support, are lighter, and more comfortable. I love them. I always keep two pairs for alternate day's wearing, and to slow down use degradation. They last longer that way, but I still buy two new pairs every four months or so. Thanks, Brooks.

I have bunions and hammer toes and need a wide shoe with a stiff sole and a soft upper. The Beast in mens 8.5 4E fits me very well and is the most comfortable shoe I have found in 2020 for walking. I previously have worn the Brooks Adreneline GTS but the GTS 20, even in the same size, is a bit too narrow and the sole is not stiff enough.

Everything they say about these shoes absolutely true. I'm a heavy guy with arch support problems and I probate. With other shoes after I went from my 5 mile walk I would have pain in my feet and ankles. With these there's very little pain if any at all. This is my athletic shoe from now on

Likes:Same great sole cushioning, comfortable lining. Dislikes:Concerns about shoe rear, ankle cushioning band irritating the Achilles' tendon, styling needs to 'man up', they are beginning to look like bedroom slippers, more color choices would be nice.
