Great shoe for pronated ankles. Provides needed stability. I'm experiencing little joint pain after standing and long walks.

Likes:Same great sole cushioning, comfortable lining. Dislikes:Concerns about shoe rear, ankle cushioning band irritating the Achilles? tendon, styling needs to ?man up?, they are beginning to look like bedroom slippers, more color choices would be nice.

I've shoe is narrow compared to 18. I tried the Wide but just didn't fit my foot. It is well built shoe but had to change.

I love my Beast '18 and want to buy another. But the white sole (instead of grey and black) on the '20 makes this shoe less acceptable for everyday wear. Why did you make this change? Garland Allen, Santa Monica, CA

I'm not a runner but a 75 y.o. man with mobility and balance issues. Although my feet are pretty numb, these are the most comfortable supportive walking shoes that I've experienced in many years. I'm so glad that a knowledgeable shoe salesman turned me on to them.

Top of the line for control and it has wonderful shock absorption. The outsoles have improved, so I am now getting 500 miles.

I've been wearing Beasts for over a decade now. I need a motion control plus shoe, because, as my physical therapist put it, I am a "plus-size" runner with flat feet. Be very careful with the 2020 model. It's NOT as stiff and resistant to over-pronation as previous models. Apparently Brooks decided to make the shoe "lighter" and more cushioned. Laudable goals, but when you weaken the purpose of the shoe (stopping over-pronation for heavy, beast-like runners), you turn the shoe into the same light-weight, cushioned shoes that simply don't work for plus-size runners. There are hundreds of light and cushioned shoes on the market; we don't need another. Bring back the Beast please.

I agree with many of the other poor reviews on the Beast 20. I've worn Beasts for over 20 years as my primary running shoe. I pronate and buy the shoe for maximum support, and the 20 just doesn't provide it. In addition, the toe box feels tighter than prior models. I've read your standard response about the re-design, but why not just create a new model rather than adjust the model that has worked so well so long for so many people.

I am a huge fan of Brooks. Very comfortable.
I have wide feet. They are the only pair of shoes that have the insole and width I need. Had ankle problems for years. Brooks Shoes are my best solution yet.

I have worn Brooks running shoes for a loooong time. Unfortunately, Brooks cannot resist tweaking a good shoe model and making it worse. The Brooks Beast is one of those models that Brooks has changed for the worse in some years and then for the better in other years. The Brooks Beast 20 runs too short in this model year. Also, the Beast 20 shoe last has been tweaked and is slightly curved. Even in the EE, there is no room in the toe box. Traditionally, the Beast was the best choice for the heavier runner - straight last, great support, roomy toe box, great heal cup. But unfortunately, Brooks has been hit and miss on this mark for the last decade. The Brooks Addiction has been much better over the same time period, but I notice that the shoe last (the foundation and sole on which the shoe is built) is now curved on the Addiction so the fit might be compromised now for the traditional Brooks Addiction buyer. Over the past few years. I have found that the Brooks Ghost model fits my foot much better - straighter last, good arch, great toe room. great heal fit. But the Ghost is not as sturdy as the traditional Beast or Addiction so the Ghost will break down faster for the heavier runner.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks Ghost, New Balance.
