This is my 4th generation of the Beast and I love them all. I found this shoe after some metatarsal breaks in my right foot. I need a shoe that's pretty stiff (1/2 shank). Though they don't push it in the advertising this is just as firm as previous gens - OK maybe a tad less but still very comfortable on my feet. I wear them every day. I wear the Beast 18 on weekends, 16 for working out, and 14 for yard work. The only wear part on the 18 was the cloth mesh around the ankle, that developed a hole around the cloth mesh around the ankle - but no sign of similar on the 20.

These shoes are the most comfortable I have ever owned and very light also, huge improvement over the previous versions of the Beast I have owned. I am not at all happy with the quality, especially at $160 for a pair. Should last for more than a couple months before they start falling apart. The materials used are very fragile compared to previous versions.

I have neuropathy so my doctor recommends the Brooks Beast. I have to get them in a 13 EEEE to keep from hurting my feet. My only complaint is that the shoe laces are extremely long, too long. I like the stretchy laces that come with the shoes but I guess that don't come in a shorter size. I have had to order shorter non-stretchy ones from Amazon.

I have been wearing same size for several years. They fit about the same. I still like them. I do think 4 or 5 years ago, they were a sturdier shoe.

These shoes are incredibly squeaky. It's not the sole...it's something to do with the construction. Every single step makes noise. Last pair of Brooks were great. These suck! Will be getting a less expensive pair of Brooks or I'll go back to New Balance.
