I have been wearing the Beast for about five years. I need the support and the 4e width. The biggest problem with the Beast in the past was the thin mesh on the top of the toe box. My right big toe punched a hole in the top of all the past models. The 2020 Beast seems significantly changed. The style has changed and the material used on top of the toe box is new. Perhaps I?m not the only one who found the old mesh top of the toe box a problem. The size is fine. My 13 4e may be a bit bigger than the previous model, which was a bit smaller than the one before that. I?ll wear the new Beast for the next six months and if I?m still satisfied, I?ll buy it again in the other color. I have been so satisfied with Brooks shoes that I have recommended it to others.

I am not impressed with the styling of the shoe compared to previous Brooks Beast models.

excellent stability and cushion, a true wide shoe when ordering 4e a bit stiff but very comfortable

I am mostly a walker, and this has been a great shoe for me! Brooks understands that a foot shape is wider in the toe box (to allow toes to have a bit of wiggle room) and narrower towards the heel (that's what needs to fit comfortably snug to hold the foot in place). Walking down steep heels, the heel and instep are well seated so my foot doesn't slide forward and jam my toes. And even on trails with uneven surfaces, I find good stability and cushioning.

I bought the beast tennis shoes for my brother last year in black. He loved them. I bought them again this year in silver. My brother is very flat footed and pronates inward a lot on one foot. These shoes him the arch support that he needs.

I'm still in the breaking-in stage. Very comfortable to walk around the house. Looking forward to a road test, soon.

I own the Brooks Addiction 14 and love the space it has for my toes. In fact, I plan to buy multiple pairs of them. I decided to try the Brooks Beast 20 for a bit more cushioning when working on my feet all day. I definitely feel the additional cushion but it feels one size too short. I would need to go up one full size to have more big toe space. Since I wear a size 16, which unfortunately is the largest size Brooks makes, I'll have to look for another brand for top of the line cushioning options. I'll keep wearing the Brooks Addiction 14 though which luckily has barely adequate cushioning to get me through 8 hours of work without my feet hurting.

My 3rd pair of Beasts. 2nd of the model 20. Live the new version. A lot lighter feel. Only complaint is lack of color choices in wide widths.

The shoes were for my husband. He has bad knees so he needed something with more support & these seem perfect. Haven?t heard him complain since he?s been wearing them.

I really miss the Beast 18. I have purchased three or four pairs per year since the shoe was first introduced. I only purchase and wear Brooks shoes, specifically the Beast line. I think the Beast 18 was of a more substantial construction. It was more supportive, more durable and more comfortable. I have already purchased three pairs of the Beast 20 for this season but may consider looking for other shoe options in the future which is difficult for me after so many faithful years with the Brooks Beast line. I think the Beast 20 is a lesser quality substitute for the Beast 18 right down to the cheaper shoe laces. Too bad.

Purchased based on a friends recommendation to mitigate plantar fasciitis which it does. Plan to order another pair of Beast 20 after I return the Adrenaline 21 pair.

The Beast 20 has a very comfortable fit. Well cushioned and good foot support. I wear it as an indoor shoe on hardwood floors. The Beast 20 feels like an improved version of the Beast 18. I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well so I bought an extra pair. For outdoors long walks up to six miles I like the Ghost 13 which also fits well and feels lighter. I can wear the Beast 20 or the Ghost 13 all day and feet feel comfortable. I feel like the shoes have held up well. No gross structural problems in my experience.

Great support as always, but I don't love the new top material. It's not very strong and stretches too much, so feels less supportive.

The shoes are absolutely fabulous! They fit well and are so very comfortable for my extended daily walks, 5.5 miles. I returned the original shoes for a half size larger. The Zappos Customer Service experience was beyond awesome. The exchange went flawlessly and I had the replacement shoes before the shoes being returned were even delivered!

The Beast 20 has pulled the teeth out of the Beast 18 and Beast 16. There is no longer overall foot support in the sidewalls and less ankle support in the upper heal section. The canvass upper just gives no support. I have ankle issues and this version of the Beast just provides little to no support for it. Previous versions felt like slipping into a snug glove with great support (sitting, walking, etc.). Now it is reduced to just a great base with lots of cushion (thus the generous 3 star rating). And the flimsy shoe strings are extremely disappointing. The Beast 18 came with great easy to tie heavy gauge strings. The new flimsy strings keep slipping out of the fingers when you try to tie them.

Awesome shoes. I've worn Brooks Beast since 2014. They're great - especially if you have foot problems

The shoe is ok. I was trying to order the Beast 18, but apparently they are no longer being made. This one seems to have less "heft and substance" than the Beast 18, but that is just an impression, not a scientific measure.
