The Glycerin 18 are a great shoe. I tried the Glycerin 17, the narrower toe box did not work for me. I have run in the Glycerin for about 4 years. I got the new Glycerin 18 in the wide and they are a better fit. My splits are better and the little nagging aches in my back, knees, and shins have disappeared. I like to alternate between the my Ghost and Glycerin shoes. These Glycerin's are the best of the models I have used.

My first marathon I wore the Glycerine 12. The Glycerine has been my go to shoe for sometime due to it's light weight, cushion and stability. Switched to the Levitate mostly because over time the road seems to get harder on the feet. Returned the Glycerine 18 because it appeared harder on the road. Levitate is now my go to shoe because it fits like a leather glove as it warms and very soft on the road.

I have been wearing Brooks shoes for years because they are the only brand that consistently fits me perfectly and they feel great the minute I put them on. I use them for uphill street walking and light hiking. This Glycerin 18 didn't disappoint either. My only observation is that the tread depth on these is a little more shallow than other models. Hopefully, they won't wear out any faster than the others! Great shoes!

I've had this pair of Glycerin 18 for approx. a month and is pleasantly surprised how good it is. I wear the Glycerin for work only. I am on my feet all day long and put on a lot of steps while at work. At the end of each work day with all my previous shoes of different brands & models, I had constant pain and stiffness. Glycerin hasn't given me any of that. Initial impression is that the shoes are comfortable and appears well made. I can't rate the quality yet until further down the road. Hopefully after 6 months+, my positive impression remains.

I had the G17, loved them, I put over 1k miles on my last pair (still wear them to walk around the neighborhood).
I?ve put about 40 miles on my brand new G18?s in 5 days. Overall amazing. Great cushion on foot impact and a nice bouncy response during your kick back. New upper is just a comfortable as the G17. I have a wider foot and not feeling any discomfort.
Only complaint, could be the socks (but not likely). I had to rest a couple days after my first 2 runs in the G18. The friction blisters on my achilles (both R&L) needed time heal up. Pretty painful stuff.
I plan on giving them a couple more rounds of usage, if the blisters continue they will be returned (praying that?s not the case).

Excellent running shoe except for 1 factor, the toe box is too low. The ghost 12 has a higher toe box. Other than that it is a fabulous shoe. It is very cushioned with a soft feel. If it had a higher toe box I would of rated it a 5 star.

Shoe was ok. I would put them on the lower end of the Glycerin line. Felt as though the comfort of Glycerin was not there. That being said I still got about 150 miles on them before I had to replace with something else, because I was just not liking them. Replaced with the Ghost 13, which felt much better than this Glycerin model.

Good, but not enough support/padding for the ball of my foot.

Sorry to say that these 18s make my feet feel hot and don't seem to have as much lateral support as the earlier editions. I've been a Glycerine fan for 5+ years and may now gravitate to Ghost to see if they pick up where the Glycerins have left off.

The Glycerin 17 was a vastly superior shoe in almost every way, in my opinion. When I put the 17s on out of the box, the first word out of my mouth was "ooooh," because the cushion and support was excellent, and I felt like I was walking on a cloud. My only knock on the 17s was that the sole wore out faster than I'd like. Fast forward to the 18. I grabbed a pair thinking I was getting roughly the same shoe. I put them on out of the box, and all that great cushiony feel was nowhere to be found. The broke in ok, but the comfort was never anything like the 17. Also the upper part of the shoe has worn out and is close to having holes, which is a problem I never had with the 17s. Just a note to shoe manufacturers: stop screwing with a design if it's working. You guys are killing me. Every time I find a shoe I like, the next iteration is junk. Seriously. Stop it.

The shoes look great, but has no cushion and they hurt my feet. I returned the shoes.

Forward pitch of foot bed is a problem. Rounded toe is new, but not an improvement. Overall the 18 model is a miss vs. the 17.

See photo- I have run many miles in the 17's and the 18's. I have a neutral gate, standard width foot and am in my mid 50's.
-17's definitely have more cushion
-17's are definitely a tad wider. My foot is a definite medium size and the 18's are snug.
-18's are definitely firmer after they are starting to get some wear on them vs. when the 17's start to get wear the shoe rolls to the outside
-The sole on the 17's wear longer than the 18's. At about 200 miles the sole on the rear and mid foot are pretty worn and you feel it in your knees. The 17's I would get about 250 miles. Both which are not many miles for a shoe at this price point
- Laces on 17's too long and come untied. 18's just perfect length and they do not come undone.
-18 inner sock rubs on top of foot Inthink because they fit snugger. 17's no problem with this
-Glycerin 17 & 18 color schemes are definitely sub par compared to what is offered in the Ghost 12 & 13 models. Why are all of the side midsole on the Glycerin's white (except for black shoes), why are their no Glycerin fun schemes like the camouflage or the fluorescent or the nightlife hi-vis models? I could just live with more colored midsole colors as the white looks bad and dirty after a weeks of running. By the way if you look at the Glycerin shoes on some of the Brooks websites in other countries they offer different color schemes.
-Ghost vs Glycerin- have run in Ghost 12 and as an older runner just not enough cushion for me compared to the Glycerin shoes

Comfortable, and very good cushioning. However, after about 350 miles of walking and jogging, the sole at the heel has broken through. The cushioning is gone on the inside of the right heel. A shame it doesn't hold up longer. Can't afford to replace so often, as a recent reviewer has said.

I notice less support with the last two pair I bought in the last two years. But I'm almost 70 and I have way more aches and pains. I walk a decent pace about two miles each day. These Glycerin's seem different though and not in a good way. I was thinking about going to one of your other styles for my next pair. I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. What would you recommend? Wm McCoy

2e was not wide enough. It should be available in a 4e, like the Ghost

The first few days that I had the shoes I got a blister on the back of my foot and my heel hurt on my other foot because it felt like there was no cushing. I kept wearing them to see if I needed to wear them in a little bit and to give them a chance. They felt a lot better after a couple of weeks. I havent made up my mind yet if Im going to keep them, I may go back to the 17s (which were very comfortable) if they dont get better. Also the colors are really bad, not much options.

I have been wearing my new sneakers, waiting to get a better sense of them before reviewing them. They apparently are the closest to the style that I believe is no longer available, Brooks GTS 17. I have now gone back to wearing my old sneakers, the GTS 17. I prefer my old sneakers.

I own the Glycerin 17, & love them. 18 feels, not quite a 1/2 size larger, but maybe 1/4 size. The fit and feel are definitely different. These shoes aren't cheap, & the Glycerin 17 are definitely worth it, 18, not so much.

Not enough support. The cut of the wide is not as wide as with the 17.

I've previously owned a pair of Glycerin 13s & Glycerin 15s and loved them. I don't love the Glycerin 18s as much, though, because - while they're comfortable to run in - they've gone to a primarily mesh construction/design which feels cheaper. In my experience, mesh designs have more quality issues and don't last as long.
In addition, the design aesthetics on the 18 are kind of plain and meh compared to previous versions.

New 18 doesn't seem to have as much cushion on sole and shoe laces are a bit short. But still in break in phase, got 20 miles in them so far so jury still out! The 18's are my 5th pair of glycerin's so far and loved every pair prior so don't see any reason to panic yet!!
