I made the switch from the Eberlestock Swtichblade to the UA 24. I've been running the switchblade as my EDC bag for about 1.5 years now, and it suited my needs; but the floppy top drove me nuts.
Enter the UA 24. The Tri-zip style is unmatched, and the internal storage organization is a cherry on top. Not to mention the separate storage for your laptop/notebook (not having to enter the main compartment is amazing). I've been running the UA24 for about 2 months now and I'm not sure I'll ever carry another bag for EDC again. If you're worried about carrying a water bottle and the impact on the internal storage, don't. A small tweak in a water bottle shape make this bag worth the hype. Who needs all that water in an EDC bag anyway? 10/10 would recommend

I've had the urban assault 24 for a couple of years now. I mainly use it for travel, both short and long trips. The pack is very comfortable and so far is seems extremely durable. There's plenty of room on the interior with various pockets to fill with your stuff.
I really like the separate laptop compartment in the back, keeping your laptop/tablet protected from getting banged around by other items stuffed in the main compartment. The water bottle holders hold a nice "grip" on bottles, keeping the bottle from flying out when bending down with the pack on, putting it in overhead bins on planes, etc.
My only complaint about the pack is that it doesn't not stand up on the bottom. I believe MR's design was that most folks would lay the pack down and use the large opening of the pack to load/unload and get stuff out. Sometimes however it's necessary to just sit the bag down and it not fall over.

Use this at work walking about 6 miles a day loaded. Dependable and comfortable. Obviously well thought out.

I got this pack to replace my old one that I'd had for many years. This pack holds everything the old one did and is somehow way easier to carry and lighter. It's also easier to get in and out of to find all I need. Very happy

Bought this as an upgrade for business travel (which is a 'thing' again!), specifically for the extra laptop sleeve separate from the main compartment. Has plenty of capacity in the main compartment for notebooks, power supply, headphones, wallet, etc. Pockets externally are plenty big enough. Low-key grey goes with everything :)

First purchase, but was issued Mystery Ranch in the Army. The same quality of materials and craftsmanship in this bag and one multiple times more expensive. They do not compromise, just put out quality.

Have never owned a Mystery Ranch pack. I was pleasantly surprised of the quality and design features. It holds way more than it looks without being floppy. Very comfortable to carry.

Grabbed this for work and daily use and I love it. Great for planes with the easy access from the top.

I watched and read review after review. Like they all said, this is a high-quality bag. All the stitching is perfect. Materials are great. Not a loose string on it. The splash color was a little brighter than I expected. Seems maybe 10% brighter than what I expected after seeing the pics. That's okay with me. I do have the same criticism that others have, which is that I wish the water bottle pockets were larger, looser, or elastic. It won't fit anything bigger than the tall/skinny SmartWater bottles or a 24 oz Hydro Flask. If there was any reason to only give four stars that would be it. But I knew that ahead of time so I guess it wouldn't be fair. Really is a top-notch bag. It shipped fast. My only silly disappointment was that Mystery Ranch doesn't ship a sticker with their bags. I mean, they're not exactly cheap. Seems like a missed opportunity on their part to not have their logo floating around out there for people to ask about. This was my first Mystery Ranch bag. There's no way it's going to be my last.

Bought this 6 months ago, perfect everything pack. I use this as my commuter/school pack, and as a climbing pack. I was skeptical of the 3-zip system initially, but because there is a vertical zip I can access the bottom of the pack without rummaging through the top. It makes retrieval way quicker then a roll top or conventional. Haven't used while hiking and probably won't given it's designed for more urban activities.

I bought this bag not quite a month ago for my EDC My issue with the bag is the size of the side pockets. They are only capable of handling my smaller water bottles. (Not Rtic/Yeti/OzTr. I carried a LLBean bag for 20+ yrs and think this will match it

Bought this intending to combine a daily carry and a laptop bag. This bag is PHENOMINAL for that. It has the perfect amount of pockets. The laptop is protected. The carry of the bag is extremely comfortable like all Mystery Ranch products. Period.

I have had the bag for a year now and it has become my every use bag. Can easily go from using it for work our just loading it up with extra for the range. I have gotten a lot of use out of it with no issues or changes from when I first bought it. It does everything I need it for.

This bag has so many pockets for organization of all my day to day stuff traveling all over the country as a manufacturing systems consultant. Laptop cords and adapters galore, no problem. Writing utencils and markers, notebooks, easy. I typically travel M-F and while its not big enough for that many days worth of clothes, I think you could probably get away with 48 hours worth of clothing in warm climates. Cold climates, its going to be pretty tight unless you wear anything ore bulky on your body. the front pocket could be flexed for many different uses. The back pocket is very thin but long. I really like the built-in structure that prevents the bag from collapsing over on itself.

I've been running with a MR Two Day Assault Pack for office to field work. With added air travel I needed something a little slimmer to fit on airplanes. Also the slightly smaller form factor than the two day assault makes me pack less (smarter). This pack has strong but not over padded shoulder straps, easy access to 15" gaming laptop (I also keep an 8" notebook in the same zip section), and well formed top zip pouch. The water bottle sleeves are tight and don't hold nalgenes, which is fine, but it also won't hold your coffee mug. The interior is extremely well organized. I keep a yeti spill proof mug inside the bag, and use the exterior side pockets to store snacks and shove my phone or keys. This bag will double as a field bag when I am forced to pack light. Great purchase. Using it everyday.

It's not a large pack, but it's great for a simple urban daypack, computer bag, small hiking bag, etc. All the features you love about mystery ranch bags, just smaller.

I've been using the urban assault 24 for a couple of weeks now. I love it! I work in SE Alaska and carry a laptop, sat phone, food and drink everywhere I go. Great internal organizational features, sturdy construction, highly recommend this pack for town and in the woods.

Just took it on my first trip. Love the look, fit nicely under the seat on the airplane and fit everything I needed for the trip.
