I love this shoe, I shattered my calcaneus a little over a year ago, had surgery and now have 6 forever screws in my heel and to say that I have daily ankle and heel pain is an understatement, I have had the Torin 4 Plush for 10 days and have wore them everyday I have gone hiking and walking with little to no pain, it has been amazing to not have pain while walking, these are the best shoes I have worn in a very long time, thank you for making such a great shoe.

I was having issues after knee replacement surgery and was not able to walk much of a distance without knee aggravation and metatarsal pain. So far these shoes have helped to relieve those issues! This is a major win for me right now!

I have been wearing Altras for many years because of the zero drop (solved a knee ache I was having). Most recently, I have had my first serious and painful running injury, plantar fasciitis. Because I was involved in a team long distance race, I couldn't stop running. So, I bought the Torin plush and along with some inserts, I was able to run 16 miles for the race with relatively little pain. Additionally, my 13 yr old daughter has been complaining that her foot hurts when running 3 or more miles on the road. I bought her a pair of the Torin plush and she no longer has that complaint. So, although the shoes weigh a bit more than others, they do make the miles on the road much cushier. If you want shoes that allow you to feel the road, these aren't for you, but if you find the miles on the road tough on your feet, then these are the shoes for you.

I am a walking commuter, not a runner. I put maybe 10 miles on my sneakers most days. I have arthritis in both big toes and need zero drop plus cushion. I have had some Escalantes and the last version of the Torins. These are absolutely the most cushioned and well-fitting altras I've worn. I don't find that debris gets into the mouth of the shoe when I walk. The style is much nicer and more streamlined than the previous Torins. But the best part is the cushion - absolutely plush and comfortable. The length of the laces is cray-cray, but they also stay tied really well.

Just bought these recently at my local running store. I'm a casual runner (4-10 miles a week) and usually go with Mizunos. I am new to ZeroDrop shoes, and these are incredible. They have helped my running posture and they workout my calves 10x more than my other running shoes. Never felt that good after a run in awhile! Also, the wide toe box is amazing; shoes are very comfortable to wear with whatever you are doing!

I bought these yesterday, and ran 5 miles in them today. It was so weird, like running on an elliptical. The impact was so minimal. My legs felt like they were going in a circular motion with the ground bc the cushion was so shock absorbent. Very cool feeling. I look forward to getting back into running with these. I'm been off and on not running regularly, and I think these are the magic ticket. I've already recommended them to many friends on Marco Polo.

I've been wearing Torins for years. I was disappointed with the 3.5 iteration. I was excited to see this 4.0 come out so quickly after that one. So I went and bought a pair. I love them!! The shape is more streamlined, even than the 3.0's, which I loved, and still have the great cushion that I need. As a bonus - they look great! (The navy/plum are gorgeous in person!) These are definitely my favorite Torins!! Thank you for this redesign!!

I received my first pair of altra's as a gift (Escalante Racers) and fell in love with the wide toe box, it was a game changer for my wide feet. I found myself increasing mileage and needing a more cushioned shoe to deal with the extra miles. I knew I wanted to stick with altra's due to the fact that the wide toe box has fit my wide feet better than any other brand's wide version of a running shoe. The torin 4 plush has been a great addition to my shoe collection. I've put over 400 miles on them and they are still in great condition and leave my feet and legs feeling great after a long run. Also, for a "plush" shoe they feel lightweight and quick, which is saying something since I switch back and forth from these to the escalante racers. I'm giving them a 4 star just because every so often I do feel a rub on the inside arch of my foot but I can't pinpoint it to shoes or certain socks I wear. I highly recommend!

I have rheumatoid arthritis. My toes are very misshapen, and I have no padding and large callouses on the bottom of my feet. The shoes are working well. I ordered a second pair. I have worn Altras for a long time due to the wide toe box. I have noticed it getting smaller each year. Please don't make it any smaller or I will lose the best shoes that I have ever owned.
4 stars because tongue is crazy long but not uncomfortable!

I bought this shoe to have more cushioning to run a half marathon on mixed terrain (paved & dirt trails). I love the Blue/Green color & the narrower fit, as I tend to have narrower feet. I've always bought size 8 in Altras, so for me, this felt the same lengthwise. The Torin 4 Plush has become my go-to shoe for longer runs. The only reason I didn't give this shoe 5 stars is because the laces are way too long! Even triple-knotting, the lace length is too long; I would easily trim another 5 inches off, at least. Otherwise, I would totally buy another pair.

I love the altras. I have hip problems so these shoes help me a lot because they're zero drop and super cushy. My biggest complaint is the laces are MILES long. I put a runners loop in my shoes and still have to double knot them to keep from tripping. Why are they so long?! The other problem I have with this particular version that I haven't had in past versions is my heel slips out when I walk, even with the runners loop. I don't have particularly narrow feet and yet my feet slip around the back of these sneakers. I don't wear these running so I would imagine I would like them less if they were my running sneaks.

I wore the escalante for the past year for all my runs and really loved them. But soon after my first marathon I started having foot and ankle issues. I thought I would try something with more padding, and I'm so glad altra created the Torin plush, because it's exactly what I needed! They are so comfortable, great for both fast and slow runs. If I had to critique one thing on this shoe though it would be that it doesn't have a "pull tab" on the back of the heel to assist with putting them on. And the laces that come with the shoe are really stiff and long. But beyond that, they helped alleviate pain and give me what I needed to train for my next marathon. Thanks Altra!

The Plush version of the Torin 4 seems wider than my regular Torin 4. My foot slides around and feels a little insecure in them. I prefer the regular just for the fit, but the extra "plush" padding may appeal to some.

I have every foot pain imaginable. I'm trying ALL shoes looking for relief and hoping/needing to get walking again. Immediately when I put these on I knew they were great because of the wonderful cushy feel I had been searching for. Torin 4 plush completely relieved and possibly healed (although I'm being careful) the pain I had at the balls of my feet. That area is where you'll feel the most wonderful Cush. What my particular feet desperately need is also a lot of cushion in the heel area. For me these shoes don't help my heels at all. Your foot hits flatly and almost feels like your heel is lower than the rest of your foot and gives no cushion or shock absorption to my heels so, my heels are killing me but the balls of my feet are feeling great. Another thing is that I've only had these for 3 months and it already feels like I should by new ones. I wear these every day to work. I'm going to put a foam insert in the heel area to see if that helps. Initially I thought the shoes were too big (I ordered my usual sneaker size 8) so I ordered a 71/2 to compare but they were too small. The roominess of the shoe is wonderful and very comfortable with zero pressure points any where. These would absolutely 100% be the #1 shoe if they had a very cushioned heel that was as bouncy as the front half of the shoe.

I have been in love with Torin since 2.5.
These 4 Plush are really soft and cushy! I just wish they came in a size 5! I need to put an extra footbed in, to make them fit.
The only thing I don't like are the shoe laces, they're a MILE long! I'm NOT exaggerating, I have to double knot them 3 or 4 times, so they aren't dragging on the ground.

I knew my size until they discontinued the Intuition. I was told to get the same size in these. They are too long and too wide. Even when tied tight, there is movement around heel as they're too big.

Love this shoe! Very comfortable and cushy. Only problem is within the first month of wearing the sole started peeling off. Haven't seen this issue in any other reviews so I'm going to give it another try with a replacement pair. Hopefully it was a one-off situation.

I fell in love with Altras after buying a pair of Impulses at the suggestion of a good friend. They fit my size 6 slightly wide feet perfectly and have helped alleviate knee & hip pain that I was beginning to experience during my runs. Looking for a little more cushion, I opted to upgrade to the Torin 4 Plush.
Pros: I liked the dark plum color scheme and thought the lacing configuration was a nice feature, allowing me to customize snugness at different points across the bridge without having to strangle my entire foot. And the cushion was absolutely heavenly!
Cons: Overall, the width felt a little narrower than other Altras and the shoe was easily a half size too big. But the deal breaker for me was the heel design. The heel tab was noticeably higher and wider than my other Altras, causing my heel to slip at every step. I even tried adjusting the lacing (maybe that's what the laces are crazy-long?!) - no joy. Not being a huge fan of blisters, these are going back.

I tried several Altras because a fellow runner recommended them. I was looking for a shoe to replace my Nike Pegasus 35s and I was displeased with the 36s. These were not the answer, however, I chose the Torin 4. The upper part of this shoe might be what makes them so much less comfortable than the Torin 4, I’m not sure, but if you don’t like these try the Torin 4.

I was very hopeful that I had finally found my dream shoe--stability and well cushioned. Granted my bar is pretty high since I had a traumatic lower leg/knee area fractures and required a total of 7 surgeries over 2 1/2 years. Since I had spent months literally unable to wear a shoe on my injured leg, it has been very difficult to find shoes which are comfortable as well as offer stability. I did purchase a pair of Brooks, which have great support and stability but still not quite enough cushioning for my very sore lower leg, foot and ankle. Well, I must return these because the mid-foot is too wide for my foot but the toe box was just a little too wide. I have a narrow heel and mid foot but need room in my toes. I wear size 11 to 11 1/2 in Brooks but tried the 10 in Altra and the length was fine, which was surprising. I was surprised that the cushioning in these Plush shoes did not seem to be more comfortable than my Brooks. I can't thank Zappos enough. I really appreciate Zappos free shipping and returns and ultra quick shipping since finding a comfortable shoe has been a true trial and error situation. Thank you Zappos I love You!

I have Morton's neuroma in both feet and wanted to love these shoes. I'm not a runner, but walk almost every day. The roomy, foot shaped, toe box is wonderful. The cushioning is better than other shoes I've tried. (& I've tried so many)! The tongue is too long and hits my ankle. Also CRAZY long are the laces. I don't care for the way the shoe laces up and I find it annoying to undo when removing the shoes. I use these shoes to walk my dog and they provide better comfort than others. I cannot wear them otherwise and I don't know why they only work for me when walking the dog vs just walking around the house and yard.

Love the fit and wide toe box. Loved this shoe for work and cardio classes. However when running the tongue seam on the inside foot rubbed raw spots on both feet. First ever for torins with this tongue type and this would be the perfect shoe if the tongue were the same as the past torins. Had to return and still searching for my best marathon shoe.
