My calves and feet are getting stronger with these shoes. I have battled plantar fasciitis for a while but I have no symptoms with these shoes.

These shoes were to small and I gave them to my friend who has never worn a pair of Merrells she loves them.

Comfortable fit, a nice wider toe box lets your tootsies breathe and flex while still keeping your foot in the right place in the shoes. These are my first pair of zero drop shoes and I am really happy with them.

Love these shoes. Marathon trained in these on gravel roads, biked over 2000 miles in them, and they have held up well. Light and springy with just the right amount of support.

I was on the search for an extremely comfortable high performance shoe and tried many other high end big brands. The Bare Access XTR did the job and I was extremely pleased with the comfort level. I haven't owned Merrells in many years and I'm so glad I came back where I belong. Thanks for a great shoe.

Fabulous! Lightweight, roomy toe box and just the right snugness. Even made my feet look smaller! Love these Merrills.

I've been a Merrell fan forever. I started wearing the Bare Access the year it came out, and I liked the "sure-footed" and lightweight feel. Bought them again. My 2nd pair was getting raggedy so I decided to get the new model. Whoah, big changes for the better! This model has even more of a glove-like feel, seems to have more buildup in the sole (though still zero drop), the stripes in the design are more subtle, and-- there's tangible arch support now! I immediately got another pair in another color. They are handsome, lightweight but supportive, and feel amazing. Also, I should note that Merrell used to run small; but these are spot-on for sizing. I should also say that I'm not a runner but do a lot of walking. This new iteration feels comfortable on hard surfaces for much longer. I'm just really happy with the shoe.

This is my sixth pair of Merrell active shoes. I love the bare access XTR as they feel as if their at one with my foot. Being a ballet dancer for many years; I am used to being, "At one with my shoe." Merrell shoes feel natural with proper support of the many arches of the foot.

This is my third pair of Bare Access shoes, each pair somewhat different from the others. I have loved each of them but this pair is my favorite so far. These shoes are quite light and pack/travel very easily. I find they have enough support to see me through long days of walking on light trails, around home, or through the cobbled streets and stone floors on European adventures. I have a high instep that these shoes comfortably accommodate. I purchased the solid black which is proving to be very versatile with my wardrobe. I am in my 60's and moderately active.

These shoes are great for cardio classes, weight lifting classes, step classes and all around working out! I own them in three colors and am considering ordering a fourth!

Although the shoe fits to size, the toe box is wide like a crock shoe. Therefore, the box bunched up a little when I drew up the shoelaces. Also, the tong slips down a little into the toe box.

I loved the style of these shoes. However, they have a very high arch support which makes them uncomfortable. It feels like my foot is rocking back and forth over the arch support which makes for an unsteady feeling when I walk. Very sorry to have to return them. Length was true to size and width was perfect.

Super light shoe. There isn't really any arch support so if you are looking for more structure this ain't the shoe. These are my dog walking shoes and love them for that.

The Bare Access XTR is overall a genuinely decent running shoe, particularly considering its cost compared to other zero drop runners. I have been a fan of Merrell's Bare Access shoes for a good while; since my days working at service-intensive shoe store. For folks who prefer zero drop but need a bit of cushioning for longer runs, they are a great medium ground between a true barefoot runner (which this is not) and a super cushy midsole. The XTR does feel different from my older models, however. It's narrower, the material on the outside is thicker, and the midsole is noticeably firmer. That said, there's still room in the toe-box, and the sturdiness of the rest of the shoe seems to make it better for cross-over use. These days, I am mostly running on pavement, so the toughness is appreciated. Overall a quality runner.

I have worn Merrell shoes for years and this is the first pair I had to exchange. I have always worn a size 9 and these were too small. I exchanged them for a 91/2 and they fit like the 9's normally fit. Beware and don't make the mistake I made.

Loved the color, toe box, width, size, everything was perfect except for too much arch support. I would not expect so much arch support from the barefoot shoes. Unfortunately returning

This is an attractive shoe, and what pleases me is that it offers good support, which is important to me and I don't always find.
