Kept me warm and dry during my trip to Iceland. It's a VERY warm coat. My only complaint is that the zipper doesn't catch 100% of the time.
I suppose some more inside pockets would be nice, as well. But I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought this coat for my 19 year old son. He absolutely loves the cost it's stylish and the fit is perfect. Most importantly the cost keeps him warm and he has gotten several compliments.. great buy!

I use this jacket whenever temperature drops below 30 degrees. It is a bit too tight around the neck and the hood without the fur is a bit too small.

Very nice looking coat. I'm 6-1, 210 lbs and it feels okay (not too loose). However, with the straps at the sleeves, I had to fasten it all the way, so it would grip my wrist and not go beyond it and to my knuckles. A "large" would probably be the best fit for a person my size, so I'd suggest anyone reading this who is to go with that instead of what the site's size tracker says, which was to go with an "XL." Thanks for reading.

First, read reviews from outdoor websites and they named it one of the warmest jackets ("almost as warm as...") except for a canadian brand that sells for THREE to FOUR TIMES the cost! That's pretty good company to be in!
This is the warmest jacket I've ever had! I'm surprised it's not sold in every store in wisconsin. It's stunningly warm & blocks wind (but see below). If you wear it for a few mins indoors you'll start to heat up and it stays that way when you go outside. It's long hem is great to keep things warm. I've only had it in 5 deg F. temps with windchill of -10, but i can easily see this being warm down to -10 to -20 deg F with even lower windchills.
For size, I said "true to fit", but I think it might be a little big... the 2xl felt a little tight and when i raised my arms out in front of me the cuffs were a little short. I worried about ordering the 3xl without trying it on first, but it works great for me, 6'3" 280lbs. The cuffs now feel more in the right place when i raise arms, and drop down lower when my arms are down - good! Also, there's definitely enough room for t-shirt, shirt, sweat-shirt combo underneath. Also enough room to not be restricted in any way with just a t-shirt & shirt. IMO better to be just a little roomier.
Last though, i noticed on my 3rd day of owning it, a heavy north wind blew against my back as i was walking and there is enough of a gap between the hood and collar that the wind flowed easily into the hood. I was bummed. My solution will be to bring the jacket to a master tailor and have them add about 4"-5" strip of velcro mid-way between the zipper and ends of the hood on either side. We have enough high-wind days that it's worth the effort to do this for me. That's my only downside. But it kept me from giving it 5 stars

I bought my husband a large even though the size guide suggested an XL and it was still too big! TNF, you may need to reconsider your size guide and for the customer, buy at least one size down from what the size guide tells you.

I got this jacket for my grandpa for Christmas in the dark green color. It looks great on him and he seems pretty comfortable in it. Only complaint is that it seems like the sleeves are a little bit on the short side, and the jacket overall is a bit heavy.

We live in CA. I bought it for my son, who is going to Washington DC, for a school trip. I was quite worried that I would buy the wrong coat because I have never been to the east coast on during winter. After researching I settled for this coat. Hopely it will keep my son comfortable.Seems very warm but very heavy.

This is a tremendously well-designed winter coat. I got it because I often wear suits/sport coats to work in the city, so the coat keeps me insulated in the nasty Boston cold, while looking sharp and matching over my business attire. However, this coat is also monster-sized. I'm normally a medium, but had to exchange for a small so I didn't look like a stuffed polar bear. I'd definitely keep the size in mind if you are going for a more sleek look in your wardrobe. Otherwise, fantastic purchase and I get loads of compliments.

I work outdoors sometimes installing cameras in Minnesota. During winter I needed something that would last and keep me protected from the elements. This parka is exactly what I needed. The built in face mask into the hood is especially convenient when carrying tools and hardware when up high on lift. All and all this is even better then a carhart for outdoor job sites.

I've taken this coat with me to Iceland as well as the 15F and very windy weather I'm currently experiencing in the US. Keeping it brief... I've never gotten cold in this coat, the windproof aspect is incredible, and it truely is comfortable (although a bit bulky). The negatives I've found are the waterproofing aspect. While the water may not penetrate through the 3 inches of down feathers, water will penetrate the coat. I experienced this is a light winter rainstorm. The other big negative is the hood. It's not well connected and not sturdy enough to battle heavy winds. The fake fur is also annoying as it gets in your mouth constantly.
At the end of the day however, I would still recommend this coat to a friend if it was at a good price.

Got a new one to replace my worn out 10 year old version. New one is much lighter, has less insulation, and far fewer pockets. I kind of miss the old one except I had to have the zipper on it replaced a couple of times. New one could use more insulation in the arms.

I like this parka a lot, the material feels very durable and this is one of the few items that North Face actually makes XS for. The jacket is very heavy, which I would assume is because of the down material. But it does keep me very warm. One major complaint would be the pockets, The front pockets feel very small for my personal taste, because I like to put scarf, gloves, and ear muffs into my pocket. Also, I feel like there could be more pockets on the inside of the jacket instead of just one.

Very warm, well made and great looking parka. I'm 6' 0" and 180lbs, with athletic, broad shouldered build, and the Medium fits like made to measure. The North Face online fit-guide pointed me to an L, but I tried in-store and found that had too much slop around the hips which would have constantly allowed cold air inside.
Zippers are sticky, sometimes not wanting to open, not terrible, but quirky. Only disappointment is the hood design, as you can't zip it up around your face like a snorkel parka. The hood is removable and personally I'd have preferred a fixed hood which closed more tightly than a removable one that I'll never remove. Still, overall really impressed with it.

I noticed North Face is starting to cut corners. No double lining in the sleeves, no sleeve pocket. Awesome jacket I love it just wish they added a patch or two along with another logo on the sleeve. Just personal preference but the jacket is warm and does it's job well. I stand at 5'3 ordered a xs and it fits perfect.

I was planning on using the coat for casual wear, mainly in the winter. However, when the coat arrived it was obvious that it was more suitable for a much colder and harsher environment than Michigan. It was a very nice coat, just not what I needed. I returned it and got the lighter and more compatible MEN'S THERMOBALL TRICLIMATE JACKET. Which suits me much better.

This brought this for my husband as a birthday gift. He is a big guy and usually wears a 3XL or 2XL. I brought 3XL and was too big for him and even though he's 5'11, the jacket ended mid-thigh. Maybe this was not his taste. Movement is restricted. Feels very heavy and definitely not a city jacket. This would have been a great jacket for sub-zero climate but this winter was very mild and did not have the right chance to test this fully. I would recommend this jacket but I guess it did not the serve the purpose. I had to return because it was too big and heavy.
