Very warm and good quality but hoody's not furry, the zipper is too small. Good for 0-25' F weather

This is an amazing winter jacket however, I am a little bummed out because I bought it to wear during the Sundance Film Festival and it came with a defective zipper. One of the teeth on the zipper came off as well as the sliders and nobody in Utah carries this anymore and I can't send it back in time to get it fixed before the festival. Super disappointing but everything else is good minus the zipper and some feathers coming out of the colar fabic.

Other small sized NorthFace clothes fits just perfect, but this one was way bigger.

This is a very warm and comfortable coat. I bought it because my old coat just wasn't cutting it in the cold anymore, and my research kept pointing to the McMurdo as the best, unless you have $1000 to spend on a coat. I've had no problems with the zipper, other than needing to remember to adjust it BEFORE I get in the car. A great winter coat.

The North Face has always been my choice for winter coats. They are well designed and most importantly warm. However, this coat could have gotten a 5-star if the zipper was better crafted. It's hard zipping the zipper standing up. I had to sit down somewhere or bend my back every time I have to zip.

I purchased this for cold Iowa winters and it keeps me very warm. It does seem to have cold spots in the sleeves around the elbow bend area. The hood is also very small as well as the opening for your neck when zipped fully. I am 5'7 135lbs and purchased the small. The jacket fits well except where mentioned above. The pockets are a bit awkward at first but I got used to them. The neck gator is nice but tight due to the small hood. The zipper is ok but can give you trouble from time to time. All in all a good jacket but it isn't prefect.

I really like the jacket but I find it hard to zip up, needs a bigger zipper to fix the problem other than that I`m happy with the parka.

Seemed to be very warm. Was also very very big (even the small size). Could fit several layers underneath if necessary. Somewhat heavy.

The coat is absolutely fantastic. The sleeves are just abnormally short. I'm 6' 1" 230lbs and wear XL shirts, hoodies, jackets, and coats. The sleeves always fit fine on everything except this coat. When I extend my arm out, the sleeves are about 4" short.

It's truly amazing coat and i love everything about it. It's my first Northface and it completly lived up to the hype. Wish i would have bought one 20 years ago. Only thing troublesome is sometimes i cant zipper the coat. Keeps getting stuck

The quality is great as was expected. My son wanted a parka to keep him warm. After much shopping around, he decided on this one - good choice.

I ordered this since I was looking to upgrade from a Uniqlo parka which fit me just about right but I wasn't happy with the quality. After some research I decided to pull the trigger and get it in navy. It looked amazing. The material and quality was just great. Unfortunately for me, since I'm a small guy with a below average frame the XS made me look like I a human marshmellow. Was very sad to return.

Jacket is very warm and true to size. I am 6'0 with long arms so the upper pockets near the chest are hard to reach at times because the entry point is small. I hurt my shoulder trying to fit my hand in the pockets when it is extremely cold. If you have shorter arms then this coat is for you.

Submitted my +10 year old McMurdo I for warranty claim and TNF replaced it with a McMurdo III. The McMurdo III was somewhat disappointing because it lacked the features provided by the McMurdo I, such as ... ribbed cuffs at sleeves (McMurdo III has none), bottle pockets (yes, I used them and McMurdo III has none), drawstring at mid-torso and at bottom (McMurdo III has none, fully-lined hand pockets (McMurdo III is only lined on one side), zippered vent (McMurdo III has none). The McMurdo I had perfect hand pockets for me (both top and bottom pockets). The McMurdo III's top hand pockets are positioned higher, and are smaller (I can barely fit my hands). The McMurdo III feels like a result of some cost-cutting. The gaiter is the only new feature, which is nice. It's still a solid parka, but I wish I had my +10 year old McMurdo I back in it's new condition.

I'm 6'1" and weigh 220 with 35" sleeve and 45" chest. I ordered L and XL because I thought I was in-between sizes. TNF size calculator said I should be an XL, and it was correct. I could wear a large if I only wore a t-shirt, but I'll likely be wearing two layers and need the XL for to not feel restricted. The zipper works great when you zip it right. Here's the trick: do not put a finger under the sliders and lift up at all when starting to zip. Simply push the non-slider side through BOTH sliders and gently lift the top slider. That's it! I'm giving four stars for two reasons: the zipper should be easier (bigger teeth might help) and the hood could fit better. Having said that, the hood will function fine for me. This jacket is week built and very warm. Great but overall.

tested in harsh winter, it keeps you warm and toasty. Poor zipper - it takes a few minutes to align the zippers and pull it. My zipper came out on the second day of use. Trying to get replaced. If problem persists, Im going to return it.

This is The most expensive winter coat I have ever purchased! Ok, I got it through one of a few Sporting Goods stores here in NYC (not worth mentioning believe me) as a serious investment towards my staying warm and dry as I approach 60 and not as active as i once was. had to get XXL as my 6'2" 210 lbs just fit an XL and my arms were restricted/exposed at wrists. I believe i'm going to appreciate the warmth of this coat period, water resistant?? not a huge fan of dryVent tech thus far on my other TNF Jacket. This coat seriously needs a draw cord around the waist if not also at bottom hem. (cheap remedy was a 5.00 Webbed accessories belt placed outside and around coat to use on them really brutal days)Where's an outside tech pocket/chest pocket?? now will have to fish for me phone in pants pockets . Although I read nothing but Bad reviews on the choice of zippers used, I can't say anything bad about them from appearance so far. The Hood is insulated and Furry collar are both removable. Pockets have that felt lining along only 1 side of pocket not both.Like placement of the lower pockets but not liking the upper hand warmer pockets as they are redundant. Yeah, an outside Tech pocket would have made me happier with this purchase. It get's pretty Cold here come NYC Winter time and hope I'm prepared now

Bought this as a gift for my significant other. He loved it! Was a great jacket, love the face mask feature. The only downsides were that the jacket was a bit bulky. He ended up liking another jacket just a litttttle bit more due to the slimmer fit.
