So far the shoe wears very warm. I did a 3 mile hike and I was very uncomfortable from the heat that built up in the shoes.
I have since did a couple of 2 mile hikes, with the laces a bit looser, and the shoes were more comfortable; still a bit warm though. Hoping things get better as the shoe breaks in.

The shoe is great, however it doesn't fit me. New Balance 990 in size 11 is perfect for me. This shoe is way too narrow across the ball of my foot, and the size 11 is a little short ....

Decent Hiking Shoes, But Poor Customer Service
I recently purchased these hiking shoes, and overall, they perform well. They’re comfortable, provide good support, and handle trails as expected. However, the laces are too short, which makes it difficult to get a secure fit.
When I reached out to the manufacturer, I was initially told that laces aren’t covered under warranty. I wasn’t asking for a replacement due to a defect—I pointed out that the laces were too short due to a design issue. Instead of offering a simple fix by sending longer laces, they just directed me to buy my own elsewhere.
It’s a small issue that could have been easily resolved with better customer service. Unfortunately, their lack of willingness to address this left a bad impression. A good product, but disappointing support from the company.

Very comfy, rugged shoe that gave me 10 months of good city walking and hiking, but then the right one lost its waterproofing, which was supremely disappointing - that was the whole reason I picked these. The shoes do not dry easily, which made for a really uncomfortable week-long hike through some muddy areas. Sadly I have to avoid buying another set of Keens after this, just not reliable enough.

Falling apart already. So disappointed. Always liked Keen products because of their durability. Obviously they have let their standards slide. Won't buy Keen anymore.

I've had 3-4 pairs of this same shoe. For some reason these did not fit. I don't know if they changed the last or what. They killed my right foot.

Soles fell off after a month. Keen sent me replacement. I wore indoors for a year. This fall i wore them in morning dew daily. The glue failed. Too bad since the upper is still good.

I bought my first pair of these hikers in October, 2021. Within a few months, the synthetic leather on the sides of the toe box, began to crack and split open. Bean, it's in historically consistent way, took back the hikers and replaced them in March of 2022. So, the new pair is just 14 months old. I only use them for moderate hiking, and only during the times of year here in CT where I don't need winter boots. Again, the sides of the toe area have disintegrated (that same synthetic leather) so the the shoes have opened up. I'll glue them again (you can see the shoe adhesive in the second photo) just to keep them going for a few more months. But for $150+, they simply lack the quality to manage perfectly normal hiking use. They were sized for me a the flagship store, so no, it's not because they are too small. The fit and comfort is perfect (hence 2 stars vs. one star) but there is something about the material they use on the sides of the shoe that can't manage regular use. I will not buy these hikers again.

I was disappointed. They were not like my old Keens at all. They were shaped like a rectangle and not like a foot. The toe box was too narrow and the heel box was too wide. The length was correct, however.

Absolutely no complaints about the comfort but I’ve only worn these a handful of times in 4 months and my sole is coming apart. Expensive shoes for this to happen so soon.

Quality is poor for this specific shoe. My husband wears only Keen shoes for the past 10 years, after breaking a bone in his foot. He wears either the hikers or sandals depending on weather.
This was the first pair he’s been disappointed in. His shoes start out as indoor shoes for him then after about 6-12 months become shoes he wears outdoors. This particular pair has stitching that is beginning to fall apart, and the first pair that stink, which is totally uncharacteristic for his feet.

Dont plan on wearing these for long term walking or hiking. Feels like you're carrying cinder blocks. Uncomfortable.

I have worn Keens for quite a few years now. They make my knees feel great. Unfortunately, the insoles in these are different from the way they used to be. There is an extra bump towards the outside of the foot which is as high as the arch support on the opposite side. It tilts my feet and ankles inward which in turn hurts my knees. I'm returning these shoes.

Unfortunately they have changed this formerly wonderful shoe. Fit and style are totally different. Not offered in any blue or grays either. Returned.

They were very comfortable but started to come unglued after 3 months of daily wearing. At 4 1/2 months the soles were coming off. This is the third time I have had Keens that didn't last. I was a loyal to the Keen brand for years because of the comfortable fit, but the durability of the shoes has declined and I won't buy them again.

Trying out men’s size since all women’s sizes have been too tight. I wear 9W in women’s size but 9M in men’s is too long (even tho it felt wide enough). I ordered the 8M & 8.5M in men’s. For the 8.5M, it’s long enough but the middle part of the foot (the narrowest part) is actually too tight. I call feel my foot curling in, which would actually damage my foot if I wore these.

Waterproof fail! Rain, not puddles and the toes were soaked through. This was made the whole trip difficult, and I needed to get new shoes while I was on vacation. My wife’s waterproof Merrells did fine.

The size is true to fit, the width is perfect, the support is great, BUT this is the second pair in 5 months that are not holding up, stitching around the toe, after only a month of wear. I have bought this brand and style for years. Not the best shoe anymore!!! My husband will not return as he has worn them despite my recommendation.

Keen used to have nice, wide toe boxes, to allow your toes to spread out. Unfortunately, they’ve narrowed just about all of their toe boxes in the last few years, which has made them far less comfortable, at least, for me. Worse yet, their quality control has gone way downhill. As a result, I’ve moved on to better (shoe) pastures. I recommend Altra and Hoka One One, as well as Topo Athletic brand shoes. I’m a very recent convert to all three of these brands, and I’ve never been happier. They have wider, but supportive toe boxes for proper “splay” of the bones and tendons in your feet without leaving you feeling like your toes are just flopping around.Their quality control is also MUCH better overall. Spend your hard-earned dollars - and take better care of your feet - by investing in these and similar high-quality brands. Also, if you have a store near you that specializes in running shoes (ex. “Snail’s Pace” in Southern CA), I strongly recommend taking the time to be professionally evaluated and fitted (for free) before buying new athletic shoes, regardless of your needs. I did so and ended up buying Altra shoes (“Rivera”) to wear to work all day as I walk on concrete floors, and my feet have never felt better. I also purchased a pair of their trail-running shoes (“Lone Peak 6”) to use when I work in my garden. I swapped out its standard insole, which is perfectly respectable, for a Cadence brand one, just to make the shoe perfect for what I needed to use it for. (Do NOT underestimate how beneficial the right insole can be, if you need one.) No more sore toes from crouching down among the shrubbery for me, and no more aching feet after mowing the lawn, etc.
Fit Tip: Each 1/2 size up is only another 1/4” in length. That’s all, and you’d be amazed at what a difference that little 1/4” can make to your comfort after 10 hours on your feet. I wear a standard Women’s 11.5M or a Men’s 10M/D in my athletic shoes. If you typically wear Women’s shoe sizes, don’t be afraid to branch out and try the comparable Men’s sizes of the same or comparable models, especially if the Women’s athletic shoes you’re trying don’t go in half sizes above 11. Your feet will thank you.
