Superb on mountain trail or for off trail training. While I use mid cut for pitches above 20%, the low cuts are great for lighter work below 12,500 on predictable rock. They are durable, flexible, and light for their resilience. I'm happy with the sole wear, and can do 300-500 miles before wearing through the primary rubber on outer rear ankles (my tendencies in wear, not a shoe issue). Water resistance is fine, as is natural dry time after stream immersion. I've had four pairs of Moab IIs -- mid and low cut -- and it is my fundamental piece of gear for 14ers. Age 72, 70-80 training miles/month, objective hikes in July/August, generally class II Rockies.

The Moab 2 Prime Waterproof is one of the most comfortable and sturdy Merrels in have ever owned. These are my fourth pair of Merrels and I expect they will last a long time just like my others. This pair replaced a pair that were 12 years old and had walked all around Scotland and Ireland right after purchase. My wife just got a new pair and loves hers as much as I love mine.

These are my every day walking around shoes and my warm weather hiking shoes. The waterproofing has held up to PNW spring, summer, and fall, keeping my feet dry as I cross through wet mud and shallow streams. They’re so comfortable I can wear them straight out of the box for an 8 mile hike with no blisters. The footbed is wonderfully stiff and the soles grip really well, both of which make hiking in the very rocky terrain of the Cascades a piece of cake. This is the second time I’ve purchased them and couldn’t be more pleased. As for styling, I prefer them to the women’s options, which were less rugged and girly-looking.

Used my Merrells to hike the Grand Canyon and a slot canyon in southern Utah. Had to wade through knee deep muddy water, but they held up perfectly, and after a good rinsing are as good as new. Sturdiest, most comfortable hiking shoe I have ever owned.

These will supplement/replace a pair of Moab Adventure Laced Waterproof shoes purchased in Summer 2019 whose soles have worn down. While the two pairs look similar (I got the Mist color in the Moab2 Prime, and had the Dark Earth in the Adventure), the Moab2 Prime shoes are slightly bulkier, slightly heavier and stiffer than the Moab Adventure. (And, they are more expensive!) My usual size 9M worked well for both pairs of shoes, so I consider Moab2 Prime true to both size and width. The Moab2 Prime shoes felt good right out of the box, but I checked the fit with different socks because of some reviews that noted sizing issues, and all seemed good.
I am pleased with the shoes. I hope that they hold up as well as my other pair.

Hello. I bought this pair of shoes for a vacation to the Gatlinburg area. Outstanding choice! This was my 1st pair of Merrell's. I chose the Grey color because of the "weathered" & "neutral" look. The fit was amazing, right out of the box. I noticed the "stability" of the sole immediately after putting them on. After wearing them the 1st day, I knew that I made a great choice with this purchase. This will definitely NOT be My last Merrell purchase. I have already recommended these shoes to Friends and Family. The (free) Express Shipping was great, as well. I ordered them, and had them inside 4 days. Great Customer Service, Merrell!!! :)

I have worn Merrells for years and my husband has worn another brand. I bought these for his birthday after he mentioned he wanted to try something new. He loves them! First pair he has worn straight out of the box to go for a walk. Won't be going back to his previous brand of shoe!

This shoe ran 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear. Once I sized up, they were perfect. I have hiked in them several times and they are great! Comfortable and supportive.

Exactly what I was looking for . Most comfortable , well made , waterproof and good looking . Got 1/2 size larger than usual because 2nd pair and the leather did shrink minimally after getting wet many times . OUTSTANDING

These shoes have been very comfortable and lived up to their description so far. Unfortunately, a couple of other models did not stay waterproof for more than a month or so the 3rd time was a charm with this pair. I wear them daily for walking the dogs through wet fields and my feet stay dry! Thanks to Merrell for backing their brand and providing fantastic customer service. I highly recommend.
