I've been wearing this style of shorts for a few years now and love them. I needed some new ones this year and, after reading the reviews, I decided to order a size up which was definitely the right choice. Be advised: These are at least one full size smaller than previous versions of the same style!!

I ordered a new pair of the long shorts to replace the ones I have from a few years ago, which I really liked, in the same size. The fabric and length are still great but the cut has changed slightly, and it makes a difference. The leg is now more tapered and it pulls slightly in the hip because it is a little smaller. My old pair still fit great.

I bought a couple of pairs of these previously. They look exactly the same- same stitching, seams, panels etc. I ordered size 6 but they actually seem smaller that the size 4's I got before. Also, waist has no stretch at all like the previous.

Too small in waist. I bought a 4 and usually wear a 2. Definitely upsize. Cute otherwise.

They have changed the sizing and also I think the fabric. I ordered one size bigger because I heard they run smaller than they used to, but I actually need 2 sizes bigger. Plus they are not as stretchy as the ones I previously ordered. Maybe it's the color. Last year I ordered size 6 in a tan color and am olive color and they still fit perfect. This year I ordered blue and black in an 8 and need to return them. They are way smaller and not as stretchy. I love the length and weight though. Hopefully I can get the right size

I bought the same size as a pair I have that fits perfectly, and they were too tight on the waist. The material around the waist also was no longer stretchy. Not sure why Columbia would muck around with the sizing and material like that.

The grey ran smaller than the black. I was excited to get them and then disappointed when they didn't the fit like the black ones I ordered. If they fit they would've been a 5 star.

Wanted to like them! Ended up returning. Waist to crotch length felt wrong and wasn't flattering to wear with form fitting top.

I wish that I was taller--these are really comfortable and slimming, but at 5'2" I look a tad ridiculous wearing shorts this length.

Sizing runs smaller than previous similar purchases.

Only reason this isn't 5 stars is that it runs much smaller than usual for me. I have several pairs of Columbia pants and capris in size 10 but the long shorts in a 10 are much smaller

I have several pair of shorts and pants, but this particular pair runs very small. Quality is great, but just too tight.

I've worn these shorts in the same size for at least 10 years, and I've loved them. In fact, I have about 10 pairs in a variety of colors, because they're very comfortable and lightweight. But the latest pair I bought are very small -- like I can barely close the snap. My weight/size hasn't changed, so I assume they've changed the sizing of the shorts, which is unfortunate.

Good quality runs very small. I wear a 14W and it fits like a 12.

I am generally not a fan of pockets at the side seam because they tend to gap open unless you are quite thin. This short has this problem in a serious way, because the fabric is (pleasantly) thin and a bit slippery, making the pocket gap much more pronounced. That said, Columbia could have prevented this problem entirely by sewing the interior pocket mesh to the front fly facing. Too bad, because these pants otherwise fit well, but the designers ignored an essential detail.

Got my normal size 6 and couldn’t even zip these up. Ran very small

I read the reviews before purchasing, so I was disappointed when the size 10 did not fit me. (5'7", 148 lbs) so I had to send them back for a size 12.

Great shorts! Asinine size/name label tags- sewn into shorts.

I wanted to like it, but ended up returning them. I am short so capris always look like short pants on me, these length wise would've been nice as a crop. The pockets weren't placed properly (IMO, generally I want bottoms with pockets but I want to also be careful that they don't add to the hip area. no one wants bulky hips). These stuck out like wings, yet the fit everywhere else was perfect so there's no way sizing up would solve the issue. Zipper pockets or clips could've potentially solved the pocket issue (take note Columbia).

Sits low on body and therefore zipper is very short

These shorts would of been great, I loved the length and the fabric, but didn't realize they had a zipper. So unfortunately I will be returning them.

I ordered these in two different colors and these fit better than the black. No idea why. If they shrank at all, I wouldn't be able to get them on. Not a fan.

I wear a size 4 normally and I could barely pull these up. So tight and uncomfortable. Not stylish in the least. I'm sure they would be lightweight and good for travel/hiking--just size up.

Unattractive on my body shape - I'm pear shaped size 12-14 5'3" 175 Quality of fabric is nice tho
