Bought 2 pair of these about 30 years agoone pair for backpacking, the other stays on my Harley to keep the bottom of my rain pants secured. After a recent weekend 'ice hike' here in NW Wyoming, I noticed the cam was missing from the cam lock buckle. Turns out, these gaiters are stiff enough they stayed in place without the strap being cammed tight. I contacted OR to see if I could buy a replacement buckle. They sent me one free of charge! THAT'S amazing product support for a 30-year-old purchase. These have always kept me dry in snow or wet meadows. Great product with no end of life in sight!

My main use of this product is for winter time responses with my fire/rescue agency, however, I will also use it for other outdoor activities

When your post-holing for miles in spring snow which is more like ice, this gaiter takes the cake. No rips or tears, it's thick enough to dull the cuts from sharp ice when your foot plunges through the top layer. Saved my shins big time on our PCT hike before the melt with the thicker material vs the Lighter weight models.

I've had several pairs of gaiters over the years and they get used on a regular basis. The pair I recently purchased was because of a stitching failure on the boot strap. Sent in the information and was pleasantly surprised to get an in store voucher to replace the defective ones. Overall these are a great product and Outdoor Reaseach stands behind them which is awesome.

These gaiters are made so that they stand up once the Velcro is fastened. I never cinch the top tight. It allows for freedom of movement and breathes incredibly well.

Have owned several pieces of OR gear and like the rest. These gaiters are tough and withstand the elements and terrain you throw at them!

I work as a Forester. In the winter I can wear these for days on end in all kinds of conditions. Mud , snow , heavy brush etc. I'm talking years of intended use and likely some abuse. They are some of the best gear I've purchased for working, hunting and playing outside.

After about 4 years and I don't know know how many climbs, I sadly tore my veriglass gaitors. Upgrading to the crocs more for a little extra cold protection as opposed to durability however the extra durability can't hurt. Almost every pair of pants I have had the ankle reinforcement patch but they are always small and who wants to destroy a $200 pair of pants when you can just use a pair of gaitors. Very few guides wear them and I have never understood that. I have seen them rip gear but who knows. While I realize these are no substitute for over boosts, I think when you combine them with a super gaitors boot, you really have a lot of warmth.

Used these extensively this past hunting season where it rained for 7days straight. If you have purchased waterproof boots and complained about wet feet, it's probably because your not wearing gaiters. When pants wet through, your socks wick the moisture down in to your boots giving you wet feet...these help prevent that!

Through snow, rain and grueling bushwacking in Northern BC, these gators have prevailed. They provided extra warmth when conditions got desperate and kept the snow out of my boots when an unexpected storm arrived on our doorstep.

Used these on a week long hike in rain, mud, soft beach sand. These were amazing at keeping the elements out and me clean and dry. Would recommend to anyone.

Awesome gaiter, not the fanciest rig on the mountain, but it gets the job done for a great price, and has the durability that any gaiter should need, as they tend to have sharp and dangerous neighbors to the south.

I'm a Mountain Search and Rescue member and use these every time I am in the field (More then 10 uses per month). Rather we are in snow, or dry brush, they do exactly what they are supposed to. I am 6'3 with a Size 13 boot and the XL fits like a glove. The underfoot buckle strap is pretty good quality and has held up well with trekking over Joshua Tree and Lone Pine rocks in California.

Tough gaiters! Perfect for the snow and marshy terrain. I wear a 7.5W and the mediums are perfect.

-Kept my ankle-high winter shoes nice and dry while walking through deep, wet snow in mid march.
-Fabric and foot strap are nice and durable, didn't see any knicks after bushwacking all day.
-The hook on the front of the tube that grabs onto your shoelaces is a nice feature that keeps the tube glued to the side of the shoe.
-I'm a size 9.5 shoe, bought a size Large gator.
-The Hook and Loop strips are very strong upon delivery, I didn't have any issues with it coming undone.
-The cinching strap at the top helped keep the tube in place even though I purchased a size up and was wearing thin pants.
-Pretty well snow-proof in my experience. Everything underneath the gators was bone dry and everything else got wet.
Very happy with my purchase!

These gators have seen about a weeks worth of use. In 18" of snow, they kept me dry and warm. They also saw limited use across rocks and have not shown any wear.

Took on a 3 day 2 night snowshoe trip in the rockies. Did an amazing job keeping my feet warm and dry even in deep powder.

Purchased OR Crocs two months ago and am very satisfied with purchase.
Used up in Nelson, BC, Canada for snowshoeing in 1-2' powder without any issues of snow or wetness in my boots.
Wore in dry Utah backcountry/bushwhacking with plenty of thistles, talus, scree and no issues with mud, snow or tearing. Found out my hiking buddy has had his pair for over 5 years of heavy backcountry/snow use and swears by the Crocs too.
Overall, I'm confident these will keep my tootsies dry and my pants from tearing for years to come. Thank you for an awesome product, OR.

Could be a little tight for someone with large calves and wearing extra layers. Works great in mud, snow, rainy conditions, and to keep bugs from crawling up your legs.

Used in winter for XC-BC skiing. Work well. The under foot strap and buckle set up works very well and is durable - a weak spot on other brands.
Fit at ankle/boot cuff area a bit narrow. The velcro tab near the lace hook wore out very quickly but has not affected performance. If I recall correctly I think an old model used a button which worked well. This is about my third pair of OR gators over the years and would buy again.
Overall OR products are good and I've got several of their items. I trust their products as they are both relatively durable and functional.

Not only is this an excellent pair of gaiters that are comfortable and protect my feet and ankles but after many miles of use and the instep strap broke, they were replaced with a brand new pair. I fully expect this to be the last pair of gaiters that I need.
