Bought this model for my partner as a Christmas gift to use for work, after her first Timbuk2 backpackwhich she put through the ringer (she also used it for camping) but which nevertheless lasted for a decadewas beginning to look a little too shabby for professional settings. She loves the ergonomic fit of this new model and has already twice commented that it's the most comfortable backpack she's ever worn. Also loves the inner design for organizing all her things.

I have used this thing for work and travel all over the place. It has been around the world and held up to all abuse.

The product is well made and very easy to use. The materials seem to be sturdy. The online store is easy to use and ordering from Japan was easy.

I upgraded to this bag from the original Q that I was gifted when I graduated high school about 10 years ago. The Q was a great bag and it has lasted me a long time. I also took advantage of the Timbuk2 warranty with my Q and had a small tear repaired. That being said, I wanted something a little more sleek and elegant that I could take to work. The Authority was perfect for that. It has all the compartments I need and manages to maintain a sleek silhouette even when completely full. I also feel that the zippers on this bag glide a lot more smoothly than those on my Q. The ONLY gripe I have is that the water bottle slot is too small to fit most bottles, but given all the other great features, I can see past that.

I use it for graduate school and for academic conferences. Just the right space for my needs, and it looks sleek. Loving it so far. Quality seems durable!

Very comfortable, low profile, and stocked with compartments that are easily accessible and well placed.

I bought this because New York Times wirecutter said it was awesome. And it is. Best backpack I've ever had by far. I think my favorite thing is at the bottom is rubber so if you put it down and the floor is wet, none of your stuff gets wet.

Backpack for future business trips. I travel every three weeks for business and I was looking a spacious backpack. This one looks perfect for business trips

Plusses: The backpack holds two laptops plus gear plus a water bottle plus paperwork, books, magazines and more. So.. it has a lot of room. It's also wicked comfortable, even when carrying a lot. Minuses: The top passport/wallet/earbuds pocket could use a zipper pull. Organizing vertically will take some time to learn (I'm used to a messenger bag, where horizontal organization is the norm).

I bought this backpack to replace a much more expensive one (from the four letter brand beginning with T) and this one is so much better! The straps are placed at a more comfortable width so it stays on my shoulders and somehow the height at which they are attached to the bag makes the weight on my shoulders feel minimal even when I am a carrying a lot. I love how waterproof it is and the tiny stealthy reflective stripes on the side that you can't even see during the day. My least favorite part is the front pocket, which I don't find very useful, because it is so deep and has a pretty small opening. It doesn't bother me but I'm not using it a lot, I did have a tiny bag on a keychain ring which I attached to the key strap and put inside that front pocket to hold little things like chapstick. I like that you can stow away the chest straps. I'm very happy with this and can't believe I spent over twice on a bag that was just okay!
