I bought this for my 8-year-old son. It works very well for being out in the snow and all of our winter sports. He has been ice skating, sledding, and cross country skiing in this coat and it worked great for all of those. He gets cold fairly easily, and this coat has kept him warm. Love the color combination too...nice to have something other than black!

Bought this jacket for my sons and they really like it. It isn't bulky, which my kids love. It is "true to size" but obviously being a jacket it is slightly bigger, giving the perfect amount of room for layering! Very happy with this jacket!

This jacket fits perfectly for my 8 year old, so the size charts were very accurate. It is only late fall, so I won't know how it will perform come Winter , but Columbia has always been our first choice for winter jackets for him.

This a great coat. It is made of good quality material and very durable for my active child. I would recommend this coat to anyone.

Love everything about this coat - warm enough for the middle of winter, but lightweight and not bulky. Love the zipper pockets and adjustable sleeve cuffs. Wish there were some other colorways, but oh well.

Seemed somewhat thin for a winter jacket. I would call this a late fall early winter, or late winter early spring jacket. The quality is very good true to what Columbia puts out

Very comfortable and definitely warm

Jacket is warm and waterproof without being too bulking and has the omniheat inside which really works when moving around. Material has a nice feel to it.

Thank you Columbia! We needed a jacket for our six year old who is taking Alpine lessons this year. We wanted a warm coat that was not over bulky. Well, look no further!!! Our son loves his coat. It makes him feel invincible and it will work for all our winter outdoor activities. At the end of the day, this is a quintessential piece of gear for any youngster who recreates in the winter. If you need your little one to be warm, feel like they are superman/woman while wearing, and desire quality, here you go!

I bought this jacket in an XL size 18 for my teen who is wearing Men's small or medium shirts. He has wide shoulders but a very narrow torso and waist and the men's winter jackets were all huge on him. This fit well and was not too short on his long torso. It's quite lightweight for the amount of warmth it provides but I did get him a fleece vest to wear under it on really cold days as it has a reflective rather than cozy lining. He likes that it isn't too bulky. The only thing that would make it better is a chest pocket. We only just got this one but his last two jackets were columbia also and they held up well enough that his younger brother could wear them. We ended up with Columbia jackets because both kids like red and this is a snazzy true red color set off by a nice dark blue. It looks grown up but not boring.

My son really likes this jacket. Our snow season hasn't started yet but we've had other versions of this inside reflective heat liner and it's been great! They are thin but he says they really do keep him warm on the winter playground and in the snow! Love that they added the grow with me sleeves! We love this brand, it holds up really well to make to to younger brother too!

I love this coat on my sweet boy. The red and blue is classic, it's warm, wind and water resistant but not too think, noisy, or stiff. Very comfortable, clean look and so far seems very sensory friendly.

My son is extremely picky about his winter gear. He doesn't like thick coats but needs to stay warm in WI. This coat is perfect for him and he loves it. He is able to move around a lot but not confined by a lot of coat.

I ordered these for my kids for a trip to Colorado. They aren't too puffy, they fit well and they seem to be comfortable. Great purchase.

I love this jacket for my son. It is nice and warm, the length is great, and I love the adjustable powder skirt for snow play. I love the adjustable hood, it helps keep the hood from sliding over my son's eyes which is always an issue with other brand jackets. The fleece lining in the hood is soft and cozy. I absolutely love the outgrown system, it is such an ingenious design and makes me very loyal to Columbia for my kiddos jackets. I loved this so much I bought one for my daughter as well!

My nephew always hated winter coats bcuz most of them are either too heavy or puffy. But this is one cost he does not mind wearing. He told me it keeps him warm and it's not as bulky or heavy. I would definitely buy another one

My 5 year old has been toasty in this jacket. He loves all the pockets. Handy for storing various items for easy retrieval. He also loves the fleece-lined hood and hand pockets for extra warmth. He wears a 7/8 shirt and the Small jacket will give him plenty of room to grow. I expect he'll be able to wear it next winter, too.
