I felt this coat fit true to size. I am 5’7” 140 lbs and the small fit well. I love the style of the coat with the longer length in the back. I had wanted this coat for a long time and finally splurged on it when it was on sale. Sadly, I had to return it because everything about it is cheap but the price tag. From the Velcro tabs at the cuff, the plastic zipper, to the plastic snaps on the hood, you’ll be disappointed. I struggled with the zipper for a good 5 minutes to get it zipped. Also, within a few minutes of wear, it was covered in a white “dust” of feathers. I could tell this coat was not made to last which is what you wouldn’t expect from this brand and price.

I bought this version of the coat a long time ago and it's been my absolute favorite winter purchase. Replacing it has been a challenge! The current version is just not the same quality. Feels like very thin material, there's not much soft fleece on the collar to comfort your face and the front enclosure it not as nice. It is a cute style though and I love the extended rear so your bottom is covered while sitting on cold bleachers. Nice coat but not for the price point.

Finally a Parka that doesn't make a short person look like a ball. I am 5'1" and. 105 # and bought a medium. Lots of room for layers and the overall length and length of sleeves is good. Warm but not bulky. Buy it.

I absolutely love the fit, the style, the grey color. The grey fabric though is a looser weave which doesn't keep feathers in as good as other fabrics. Elbow areas were especially noticeable. Only wore for two weeks but had many comments about my feathers falling out. Other colors are a different fabric which could be better.

I bought this for my daughter who is at school in the cold north. She LOVES it. It's thick and warm, but comfortable when she's inside buildings. The fit is just right; she's a medium and this fits her great, with a little room so she can wear a sweater under it. And its fitted enough that she doesn't look like a block. The longer bottom makes in interesting, and the grey color is gorgeous. This coat is worth every penny.

The original Metropolis was perfect. I wore it every day for 7 (long!) winters, so was ready for an update. While I like the shape and fit of the Metropolis III, I am very disappointed in the quality. It sheds feathers like crazy and doesn’t seem as durable. I’d return it if I could. :(

I walk or run every single day and this coat has been my go to coat for years when I walk. Living in the midwest there is no such thing as inclement weather just inappropriate attire in my mind. Initially I took my daughters old Metropolis parka when she got one in a different color. It is now 10 years old and I decided that I wanted a new one for all the outdoor walking I do. I LOVE it. Even in temps with wind chill at zero or slightly below - i still walk outside and the longer length, higher neckline and hood make it possible. Not to mention with a last name like Metropulos I'm pretty sure the coat was made for me. Thanks Northface.

True to size

This Parka is great. The fit is good and flattering. I know I am going to use it a great deal this winter. It is soft and warm. Good buy!

My last NF parka was over 8 years old and I needed a new one. This jacket is the perfect replacement - warm and light! It's comfortable and not bulky at all.

I am 5'1" and 130lbs I originally bought a Med and returned for a small, small fits perfect! Love the color and is so warm!

I love this coat!! I purchased this in white, which is different than everyone else's black coat here in New England. It is warm, washes well and has a perfect hood. I bought this with my Heathcare Workers' discount, which I very, very much appreciated--THANK YOU, North Face!!!

I bought this parka for the cold winters in WI since I walk to work. Any part that this coat covers keeps me extremely warm especially with windchills in the -30's.

Really love how long this coat is, and is very comfortable for long walks with the dog on cold days!

I swear I could sleep in this coat, it's like being wrapped in a cloud!

I feel like I could live in this coat. I live in Minnesota and so it's pretty darn cold, but this coat is so nice and warm. Plus the scooped bottom to it makes it very stylish and sleek! Love the look, and I would definitely buy it again.

I'f been looking for the perfect winter coat which was lightweight enough for travel. After several tries, I never found one that was light and warm enough for 40F and below. The light parkas were not warm enough and the warm one was too heavy. Now I've struck the perfect bargain!

I bought this coat to replace the North Face coat I bought in November 2008. The updates are great -- it is longer! I am excited to test in out in Chicago's continuing winter, or next winter, whichever comes first!

I love North Face down coats! I have had a long coat like this one in a brown color for 15 years and it is still perfect!!! I just decided it was time to probably get a new color to add another option. I can layer thick winter sweaters and jeans or simply running tights and long sleeve workout shirt under this coat and be just as warm. It's very roomy I find. My only wish is that the waist sizes were smaller. These coats have gotten slightly better over the years, but seem to be cut to fit a box figure rather than a womanly hourglass. You could take a solid 2 inches out of the waist from every coat and still have a graciously plenty room in my view. Highly recommend for staying warm in cold weather!

I originally sized up in this coat based on reviews, but that was a mistake because the bottom of the coat flared out too much. My true size small fits much better so I'm glad I swapped! This is a nice lighter down jacket - doesn't feel like you're packed into a heavy thick puffer. Great for every day and keeps your bum warm.

The hood! It does not stay on. I deeply regret purchasing this. Something as simple as touching the hood and it will just fall off. A small gust of wind and it's gone. Very poor quality for the price paid. I would return it if I could.

Bought this summer 2020 before my first New England winter, using my healthcare discount. It's light weight and warm for everyday use. Seems a bit cheap, and snags easily. Feathers are constantly coming out in clumps. And the hood has plastic snaps, that don't hold. Cannot hang coat by hood, or it even unsnaps when I pull it up to cover my head. This is my first NF coat and I'm not impressed. I would return if I could.

Love the look of coat, it's warm. The hood is terrible being a snap on and comes off constantly would be better as a zipper. I have only wore coat 3 times and feathers already coming out of 1 sleeve. I love Northface but not very happy with this particular purchase

I love the warmth, style & comfort of the coat. What is awful about the coat is the hood. I love Northface but this was a poor design. It constantly snaps off! I am considering returning it or getting the hood sewn on, which I shouldn't have to pay for being this coat already cost a pretty penny.

Love the coat its super cute but the hood makes me want to return it, it's held on but plastic buttons that you barely touch the hood and it falls off, I've had the jacket for a week and have almost lost the hood multiple times because it doesn't stay secure.
