I bought these because I was told Hoka was the best running shoe company. I'm leaving for the military and I've been wearing 1 pair of Nike running shoes for 4 years now. They are okay, but I wanted a running shoe to decrease my shin splints and ankle pains. These hokas have a higher arch for my flat, flat feet so immediately the shoe caused me pain. I'm not a runner, let me add. I tried the shoe on the treadmill a few times but that arch situation makes it impossible to run long distance.

I bought these to replace my worn out Asics for road running. With the COVID crisis I couldn't try anything on so I went with recommendations from reviews and bought a half size smaller than my normal size. They felt good at first, but there was more than a thumbs width of space at the toe. I went on 4 walks to see it they would work and they are just way too squishy for me! It's like walking on a couple of thick foam pillows, which is not a good thing. I can't feel the road at all, which prevents me from being able to walk efficiently because it takes so much more effort to push off the road. I'm pretty sure I ruined my feet by even trying to like these shoes and going on multiple walks because now my feet are in constant pain when I'm barefoot. I'll be sitting down and then stand up to walk around my house and my feet absolutely scream at me. This developed after wearing these shoes.
