I wish I could return these. I've been wearing Hoka One One for two years or more and this pair does not match any of the other pairs. I thought the drop, which was similar to the Stinson ATR 3 version, would be comfortable. There is no way that this compares. Even a well worn version of the ATR 3 is more comfortable. My heels ache after wearing the Clifton. I said it felt a half size larger; you have to wear the shoe to get the feel of the drop and if you can stand for hours without pain. In the Clifton you can't. Can I still return?
I'd also recommend:
Hoka One One is still the favorite.

I have horrendous back pain and wear Cliftons daily as my casual shoe. This is my 8th pair of Cliftons. Loved 3, loathed 4, okay with 5. The Clifton 6 cradles my feet and are beyond light, just like the 3's, which is a necessity for my back pain. However, after wearing these shoes for two weeks, I've developed persistent achilles pain in both legs. This is new to me and coinciding with the purchase of these shoes. Other reviews are saying they run a half size big. I'm going to get a pair a half size down and see if it impacts my achilles. I really hope so as I love everything else about them.

In Brooks I wear a 8.5 W so I got the 8.5 W in the Hoka's. I found them to be too bulky but I have few friends who love them and have feet issues(plantar's and Metatarsal) so I thought I would give it a try. So I was very happy when I got these, they were actually pretty cute. But they were too wide and I don't like the foam mushy soles. So I returned them and went back to Brooks.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, ASICS and Mizuno

My daughters and I have ran in Clifton's since the Clifton one , this is not a bad shoe , it feels ok however , we thought it felt like the Clifton 4. Which I did not like , still like hoka, but will be returning these. Maybe we will try the rincon

I am terribly disappointed with my new Clifton 6's. There is noticeable less cushion than the previous model (Clifton 5) and the fit and toe box has changed! Buyer beware! Toe box is wider, narrower fit elsewhere and less cushion. The Hoka One One Clifton 5's were heavenly! They were like walking on clouds. Why change a great shoe and decrease the cushion????? NOT an improvement. Saddened by this change.

Color not true true to picture. I looked at them on two monitors and they look like two shades of blue which I liked. In person they are light blue and gray..

This style didn’t work for my foot. I’ve always worn Brook’s mostly Ghost which I love but thought I’d try something different. These actually hurt my high arch and instep. I’ll keep with my Brooks.

I always buy women's Clifton wide, this time they were too narrow and hurt my feet. The sole was more than a quarter inch wider on my old pair which was the same model!! Sad to say I sent them back and will have to find some shoes that are more comfortable

I got these for work I stand on concrete floors for hours they were very comfy at first then they started to hurt my feet and continued to hurt for a couple weeks maybe now they don't hurt as much. I have gotten another pair like this before and they always comfy not sure I would get them again.

Inconsistent fit. Two shoes--same model and size--fit differently: one pair was at least 1/2 size larger than the other.

I've worn the Cliftons from the first generation until now. Unfortunately, the Clifton 6 is about a -size too long in the forefoot, which caused too much flex for my feet and toes. I've had cheilectomy surgeries on both feet, and the Cliftons (and Hokas!) saved the day. I was so disappointed when my feet started hurting on one of my hour-long runs. As far as fitting myself, I 've worked at two running specialty running stores, and I'm familiar with proper shoe fit, so this change in the forefoot length was very noticeable. There was also a change with the upper fabric (it also caused big creases with the extra length). I'm a solid women's size 8 in Hokas and other shoe brands. The rest of the shoe (throughout the midfoot and heel) feel great. Sad face.

I really wanted to love these shoes for work, however they hurt my feet so bad that I had to take them off throughout the day. I have a bunion on my right foot and metatarsalgia in my 3rd/4th toes, and these hurt right where the laces were. My heel was also pistoning out of them which made them feel loose and not supportive. I'm very disappointed

I ordered this shoe in wide, a half-size down from my normal size. It felt a full size too large and much too roomy in the toe box. I also have relatively flat feet and tend to supinate; after going for a 30-minute walk in these shoes, was feeling some discomfort in my arch. Not enough ankle support in this shoe for me. Very squishy/pillowy and soft but if you are looking for more structure and firmness, this isn't it.

I bought these after a stress fracture in hopes the excellent cushioning would help. I really don’t like the way these feel on a run. I’m a forefoot runner, and I feel like I can’t properly bend the shoe enough and the whole foot strikes at once. It makes my gait feel off. They are also too narrow in the toe box. The cushioning is very comfortable, so I guess I bought very expensive walking shoes.

For me these medium-width shoes felt wide and offered no support. I laced them up snugly to get some support, but that just hurt the top of my foot. They are certainly very cushioned, so much so they felt “sploshy”. I have a knee replacement and my leg hurt after a trial run, so these shoes were not for me and I had to return them.

These shoes run HUGE. Unfortunately I had to wear them to find this out and therefore could not return them. I wish I had known.

the left shoe felt great but the right shoe rubbed against the inside part of my arch., along the edge of the foot bed. Needs to be a smoother edge to the foot bed. The foot bed was also bent inside when I received it so maybe I got a defective footbed? I could tell it would create a blister so returning.

I absolutely loved the Clifton 4s. It got rid of my shin splints and my back pain when running. This edition is no where close to as good as the 4s. I ordered the exact same size as what I had with the clifton 4s. The shoes fit lengthwise and widthwise, however, the toe box is too large vertically and the opening for the ankle is too large. To make up for the size difference, I tightened the laces which resulted in the tops of my feet hurting. I am exchanging the shoes for the Arahis to see if there is an improvement. Hoka, please bring back the Clifton 4 design and in wide width! They were revolutionary!

The seam near the base of the toes in the new Clifton 6 rubbed blisters on the base of my 4th toes. My Clifton 5s never had this problem. ??

warning that the shoe insert isn't sewn in so the sides stick out and will poke you and dig into your foot. didn't make for a comfortable walk.
