My pair arrived on may 12th 2020 and started falling apart July 26th 2020. 2.5 months of hiking and disc golf are apparently too much for the adhesive that holds the sole to the shoe. I bought the Speedcross 5 GTX because they are advertised as more durable with excellent grip and water proofing, well guess what if the sole is not attached to the shoe it doesn't matter how good the grip is. The sole is peeling from shoe on the inside toe. I want my money back. I thought I was buying a Lexus but these shoes ended up being a Pontiac.

The Solomon Speedcross 5s are awesome! Exceptional overall construction! The new low-profile laminated construction saves weight and it’s looks super slick! The new thicker and more durable better? treads are awesome as well, they’re way more comfortable and more adaptable ?when walking on wet tarmac if needed. There is one feature I’d definitely would like to see added to these sneaker and that is there needs to be an additional centered “climbing“ shoelace loop in the center of the top portion of the four-foot for a stronger adjustability/hold in the toe-box. Because Solomon have lengthened and widen the toe-box a little too much, they’ve slightly overcompensated now. It’s simple if you have wide feet get the wide model??, ?I do not. There is exceptional underfoot comfort with good arch support and the height of the drop is perfect. If Salomon makes the toe-box any bigger it's going to be too sloppy, as it is slightly already for me compared to the Speedcross 3s which I admit were snug. The Speedcross 5 GTXs are by far the best Outdoor Gore-Tex Sneakers on the market! I am the one that requested Salomon to bring GTX / Gore-Tex model to the States, so thank you Salomon! I’d like to see the toe-box shortened by 1 or 2 mm as well as the width, as the toe-box has become slightly a tad bit too sloppy now.? But they still rock!!! I have now purchased three pairs because I like them so much, I would just have the toe-box slightly tweaked/decreased? by 1 mm a bit.? It would be cool to see this exact same upper with midsole with a hybrid tread geared for slippery tarmac conditions. GearFreakNY Approved!

I've got a hundred or so training miles into these, and a number of 5-10k races. They've seen gravel, grass, mud, and everything in between, with a minimal amount of pavement. They were purchased with the intention of tackling training and racing duties for biathlons, and besides fulfilling those duties, they've also turned into my go-to fast hikers and trail shoes. Through all of this, I've slipped once, on a wet, rotting root in the woods. On dry pea gravel, they bite in hard and fast giving the confidence of traction and speed. In damp grass and mud, they dig deep and break free cleanly. I'm a midfoot-strike runner, and these still roll very naturally. The Gore-Tex membrane can't be beaten at waterproofing. I've raced in these in the rain, on hills, and bone dry feet with incredible stability is a feeling that can't be over appreciated. I recommend these shoes every chance that I get. They go fast, brake hard, breathe well, and have been extremely durable.

I was looking for a weather-proof shoe that I could slip on quickly to run errands, take my dog out on walks, and hit the trails, and these shoes fit the bill perfectly. Love the way they look and feel. My feet run on the narrow side, but these fit comfortably and provide adequate support for my foot structure. These do feel a bit like football cleats if you’re walking around on pavement due to the treads, but it’s hardly noticeable and doesn’t take away from their comfort. Super grippy as well. These definitely won’t be my last pair.

This are the best cross training, running on dirt, hiking, camping, and versatile shoe I have ever owned. They have rubber in all the places that normally wear out and have tons of tread and lots of grip for running in the mountains. I could not recommend these shoes more.

More than satisfied. They fit perfectly and have grip in the nastiest of situations. GTX is a must. Muddy spring trails are a breeze in these.

This is my 3rd pair of Salomon goretex trailrunners. They have gotten better each time. This version has an updated look - more techy, higher quality look and feel. I love the look! Previous 2 versions have lasted about 1 yr, being worn pretty hard most every day, my primary shoe/boot. Now: Very very high quality + design is nearly perfect now. I love these shoes!

My husband continues to order Salomons. He has become a life-long fan! They're comfortable from the start - no breaking-in process required. He has ordered several different colors/styles, and he has yet to find one he doesn't like. A great shoe.

I've worn the speedcross since its inception. Mostly trial and dirt path running and hiking. The toe box is too wide in the speedcross5 for any really technical trail running, as I get too much forefoot movement. The outer sole is not durable and the studs wear down fairly quickly after only one month.

I love the look and the great ground traction. These running shoes run quite narrow and unfortunately the Wide widths were all sold out. I wish there were a little more cushioning all around the foot. The length is good and the arch support is moderate.

My first pair of Salomon shoes and my first for trail running. Overall a great pair. Very stable, excellent grip and very snug. My pair have gone through plenty of mud in the forest but had no problems. Very pleased with this pair.

This is my third pair of SC 5 GTX and this is the best model in my opinion. They fit more snug than the SC 6 GTX. I hope the SC 5 GTX stays in stock forever.

I use these as walking shoes and I am not a trail runner however these are extremely comfortable. They're great for none-tarmac or hard surfaces and whilst they are fine for tarmac etc I think running in them on a hard surface would not be as fun!

My first pair of proper trail shoes and they don't disappoint. Very comfortable (the tip of buying half-size bigger than normal was spot on).

A few runs undertaken so far, a few 6km in muddy wet Wales now I'm back in Norway, 5km in the snow at -6 and now 11km in the snow at -15. Couldn't be happier at the moment, feet dry, feet warm and no moisture building up. Shoes look great, the grip is second to none and pretty light for what they are. Will push them through this Norwegian winter and into the summer trails. I cant see these shoes having any issues.
