The only shoes for the nursing profession and Hallux Rigidus.

I've been wearing Brooks Walker 7.5 wide for about twenty years now and, as a nurse who works 12 -18 hours per shift, I am on my feet a lot. For years this has been my "go to shoe" for work and play, but now I have to find a new shoe and new brand because the changes you made are awful!!! Gone is the comfort, great support, and long wearing Brooks Walker! What I have now are two pairs of two month old 7.5 W Brooks Walker 2.0s that have holes on the inside of the big and little toes of all four shoes, poor outside foot support with wearing on the soles to prove it, and broken down heels (because even using a shoe horn with the wide width the heel folds). I traditionally buy 9-12 pairs per year, changing shoes every 3-4 months depending on hours worked, but I won't be buying anymore Brooks Walker 2.0.!!! Please let me know if you ever go back to the quality of shoes you made in the past!

Unlike the other recent reviews, this shoe really works for me! I have never owned a Brooks shoe before, but this shoe is comfortable and fits well. I am often on my feet all day and this is a good choice. They look nice as well. Whatever was changed, I like it. Note: I have a narrow heel. I have extra bones in one foot so there is a bump on my foot where the shoe support usually is, but this shoe works okay with that. I have a neuroma on the other foot by the toes so I need a roomy toe. This shoe meets all these needs.

Really miss the original Addiction Walker - the Addiction 2 is not nearly as comfortable or supportive - feels like a cheap version of the Addition Walker - any chance you will bring back the original shoe?

Please bring back the old version of this walking shoe. I would order 2-3 pairs of width 2E a year. This new style is hard and uncomfortable with different sole. The old version was so comfortable they were all I would wear...

These are not the same shoes I've been wearing for 15+ years. My legs and knees hurt more now than with the old ones I gave away. What happened???? It's like you've taken old shoes and retread them. I'm on my feet for at least 10 hours a day - I'm exhausted by the end of the shift. My old Brooks Addictions were wonderful. I'm going to return them and see what other shoes are going to work for me. Probably another brand. What a shame that you don't acknowledge the changes.

I decided to read some reviews first, and was surprised to see so many customers stating my complaints. I have worn the Addiction Walker for 15+ years because I need a supportive shoe that comes in a narrow width. My orthopedic doctor said they were the best. I would get 2 or 3 pair every year and was always happy when the salesperson came out with the same old shoe, no changes. Until this year. The salesman assured me the changes were minimal and mostly cosmetic. I totally disagree! As others have commented, the shoe does not fit the same. There was nothing wrong with the shoe that needed fixing. I am fortunate that my shoe store has a great return policy, as I may have to return them. I am not sure what I can get instead, since there are not many other brands available in narrow sizes. Just please bring back the original design for your loyal customers! I also miss the bone color.

Was recommended by my orthopedic surgeon for slip resistant work shoes. They fit great, they feel great. They are EXTREMELY SLIPPERY at work. I have never experienced a shoe so slippery in my 30 years of working. They were fine until it came time to clean the floors at night. I literally went skating and thought I was going to fall. Changed my stride instantly and put pressure on my bad knee while just trying to walk and keep from falling. I have no clue how these shoes are rated slip resistant???!!!

I tried these a second time since the first ones starting falling apart rather quickly. I'm a Brooks fan, so I was thinking maybe the first was just a fluke. Beware that if you order the black leather, your feet will be stained if the inside of your shoes either get wet from rain or sweat. The stain is so hard to come off! I'm done with this specific shoe. I wish they had more black leather options :(
