Eyelet broke and rand separated from boot within 2-3 weeks of hiking ever day.
Also the sole was very slippery on wet surfaces but sticky on dry land.

I received the boots a year ago as replacement for my third failed pair of Bora 2 boots that I loved. I have used these boots for 17 days of backpacking over the last year.
Pros:
- Fit. The fit is great! They felt great right from the start and the break-in period was short.
- Sole. The sole is excellent! Like the Bora, these boots have the best grip on rock (wet and dry) as well as wood. Not great in frozen conditions. I loved the sole!
- Lace up system. The lace up system was great! Easy to adjust so your forefoot was at a different constant tension, to the upper part around your ankle. I like my forefoot to be a just snug and I need it tight around my ankles.
Cons:
Durability. These boots are not durable at all. After my first three day trip this year holes developed where the fold points are at the ball of your foot. The spot where the rubber around the lower boot meets the fabric. This just should not happen. The holes appeared on both boots.
The toe cap on my left boot tore and left a flap. I assume I caught my toe on a abrasive rock. In the 30ish years I have been backpacking in the mountains and on the BC west coast this has never happened to one of my numerous pairs of boots. May just have been a very sharp rock up on the Jonas Shoulder so maybe they get a pass on this.
After getting back from my last 7 day trip of 108 KM in Jasper new holes developed on the other side of the boots where the folds occur. So now there are holes on the inside and outside of both boots where your foot bends and creates folds in the fabric and rubber.
The upper part around my ankle has worn be rubbed down and a rip has developed from only two days of wearing the boots along with my Arc'Teryx GTX pants. Again, this has never happened on any other pair of boots before.
The laces began to fray after the last year's 7 day trip and did not last through the three day trip.
Lastly the sole on the midfoot is delaminating and has come away from the midsole of the boot. Not sure how this would happen as I was not on much rock mostly trial and stepping over the tons of deadfall on the North Boundary Trial in Jasper.
These boots are comfortable and stylish but not at all durable enough for real world backpacking or hiking. I am now in the market for a new pair not made my Arc'Teryx which is really too bad.

Cannot wear them for off trail. Laces loops on top two tiers have little (no?) backing so the loops supports embedded into the fabric cut into your lower leg when laced even moderately tight. If you feel the lace loop with your finger you can also feel the loop support behind the fabric. It appears to be unsupported except with the light fabric which allows no surface area (or a backing support sort of plate) to support and dissipate the pressure from the tightened lace.
I tried a few combinations and some socks, but after one hike (no trail, alpine exploration one day test hike) no change. Initial comfort changed to harsh squeeze on feet.
This is also not an individual foot issue - I wear shoes from all the other brands (and some European/ Japanese brands not available in Canada) and I have never had this issue.
Also the lower foot bed is strong, but the upper - because it very light - will not withstand even a very slight twist, such as you would make when scrambling an off-track route. They immediately pinch the top of the foot. Arcteryx has some very good upper end ski-mountaineering boots, but they have a lot of work to do to get it right on the lower end hiking shoes.
Unfortunately these may do for a hike along a groomed trail in Capilano Canyon, but I am certainly glad I did not take them on the Strathcona Park Traverse (no trail/ high alpine) Route.

I love my other arcteryx products and also loved these boots, they were comfortable and flexible. Until injuring my knee while wearing these boots! The lace hooks on the inside of the left boot caught the laces of the right boot causing me to fall with force. Even after lacing to the outside of the boot and tucking laces in it happened again. After having physio and mri scan to find the injury these have ended up being the most costly boots I've ever bought. Not to mention the loss of earnings from time off work.

Outer bunching pinching my foot. Wore thicker socks but it ended up wearing a hole through itself from basic sidewalk breaking in walks afyer supper. Maybe a dozen walks tops. Just not a durable well fitting design.
Thankfully after the store fought for me I'm getting my money back. Ownership a few months worn 12 times.

I rarely give products a one star rating. For these shoes I must unfortunately make an exception.
I liked the stealthy look of the shoe, the lacing system and the normal width of the shoe.
However litterally on the actual first day of use a 3K walk in a light drizzle both of the shoes already started leaking by the seams in the sole. The fact that both shoes leaked testifies to the fact that the quality control has been terrible. This is far from acceptable from a brand as Arc'teryx which prides itself a brand that make outdoor apparrel of the highest quality.

Do not buy these as they are dangerous. If your feet happen to get too close to each other, the top shoe lace clips interlock and cause you to fall. This can happen often in scenarios where you're hiking in a technical environment. Eventually, on my first hike, some of the clips tore off.

First off I am a HUGE Arcteryx person. I have many pieces from them and my go to hiking boots have been the Bora Mid GTX Hiking Boot, they have been all over the world and I loved them. I was preparing to hike Half Dome and needed a new pair of boot and bought the Acrux TR GTX Boot. Right out of the box there was an issue with the insoles and footbed. Taking them out and putting them back in over and over. I finally got to the point where there were tolerable. I even had custom insoles made for these boot because I wanted to like them. The laces were redone to give a "window pane" because the top of my foot starting hurting after several 10+ mile hikes. I never had to put this much effort into a pair of boots. The day came to hike Half Dome, almost 18 miles, over 4800 ft of elevation gain, 12 hours, and I will never wear these boots again. I am still an Arcteryx person just not of these boots.

From a technical perspective, these are some of the best boots I've ever owned. Comfortable, flexible where they need to be and I especially like the lace lock mechanism. They look great too. As regards their Gore-Tex benefits? None, they leak more than my sieve, even on their first outing. Big fail for the kind of money they cost.

Whoever thought shoe laces being held in place buy a cordage was smart shouldn't be designing boots. You've got a limited time before the two tear through each other. Once that happens there is no fix. It's a shame as I liked the boots themselves. It's just such a silly design flaw.

Broke TWICE at the exact SAME spot. I didn't want to risk it again so I stopped reordering. They didn't give me a proper refund but only a voucher, and at this point, I can't trust their product.
I wasn't able to hold on to these for more than 3 days, but for the days I had them, it fits fine and my feet were comfortable. It's a good foot ware as long as it doesn't break.

I bought this boot two years ago. The grip and fit were perfect but right away, I found the lacing hooks to be problematic. The stiff laces and the wide opening on the inner lacing hooks made it easy for the two boots to catch each other while I was walking. After tripping a couple of times, I'd learned to tuck my laces in. Just a couple of weeks ago, even with my laces tucked, I took a serious fall. Luckily this was on the sidewalk, not a steep hiking trail. My lacing hook had caught on something and in trying to stop my fall by forcing my feet apart, the lacing hook popped off. Wear with care.

I have used several Arc'teryx products in the past, such as Norvan LD GTX Shoes, Magnus Coat Men's and Covert Cadigan.
I am pleased with their design and performance, specifically the high-quality sewing and seam finishing.
However, I recently purchased ACRUX TR GTX BOOT MEN'S, which was a complete disappointment. Despite being lightweight, the quality control of sewing and finishing seams is poor compared to other Arc'teryx products. Please see the attached photos.
I cannot recommend this product from Arc'teryx and suggest that you look for an alternative, even if you have had positive experiences with other Arc'teryx products in the past.

The boots are ok, but the shoe laces are terrible, very slippery and won't hold. Constantly need to keep retying them. The lace slipped open, making the loop catch from my right shoe catch in the metal hook my left shoe, causing my feet to lock together and falling on my face. I have tried for one week to get a refund and the Arcteryx is DOWN!!! Bad service.

I bought these over the lockdown days to do city hikes in. I wanted something that looked good, and kept me warm, and dry. The Acrux were a little overkill but I like the brand and their reputation so I treated myself.
I've got these on Jan 27 and have done about 10 KM of pavement walking on a day on them, the quality overall is decent, but the sides of the tongue started tearing and exposing the underlying foam from about the first week. Other than the the rest of the build has held up.
I'm a very size true 12 without a wide foot and these run incredibly narrow. So much so that they're just flat out painful to walk in. I've been patient and tried to tell myself that I just need to break them in but it's clear that this is just not the case. I paid a lot for these so I'm just suffering through it until I find someone who wants to take them off my hands. The other parts of the boot are supportive and fit fine. Regardless, every step is a wince at the price I paid and pain in my feet. Incredibly let down and regretful

I liked these boots, but after three moderate length hikes, the soles have delaminated. No exposure to water. No campfire or extreme heat. No rough rocks. They’re just a newish looking pair of boots with the bottoms coming apart. I love Arc’teryx products and own several items including rain gear and backpacks, and have never had a product of theirs wear out so quickly. These were a disappointment.

I've bought these boots a month ago for the cold and wet winter months.
You will think Arcteryx and Gore Tex is a great combination.
I've walked outside in the rain and use it for outdoor activities but unfortunately the boots are definitely not waterproof. My feet were soaked and the water stayed in the boots. It took 3 days until the boots were totally dry.
