I have a wide foot, and it's difficult to find D to EE width shoes for women (that have some style). I ordered these men's hikers in order to get the D width. They are narrow for a D, but I can get my foot into them and have worn them hiking. Have to wear a medium instead of a heavy sock, but my foot feels secure, my high arches are not tired after 6 miles, and my foot does not slip in them on the downhills. Overall, I wish they were wider, but I will keep them for the short hikes. They aren't as breathable as I expected, but if you aren't a desert dweller, that might not be an issue :)
I'd also recommend:

Absolutely love this boot, i have had it for 3 months now and i have worn it on multiple cold weather hikes in the rockies. I wont recommend it as a good low output boot as it does get cold quickly, but it is stable and super comfy. It also super lightweight which makes me feel extra agile after coming from some other brands mixed material boots. my feet have also stayed dry in the snow

Bought these boots for the upcoming fall and winter. Snug at first but loosen up by now. Nice looking and ward and seem to be waterproof. Wifey liked them so I purchased them for her.

I took these on a trip through the upper Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, with 24 miles of it in a rainforest.
These boots held up incredibly well, and being new remained more comfortable than I had expected with my feet coming out happy every night. The first 2 days my feet were kept fairly dry, but the third day was very wet with constant rain and a few stream crossings where water covered the top of the boot. At the end of this day my feet were very wet inside. I have not been able to determine if the wetness came from the tongue, or was just wicking down through my socks, so I will keep an eye on this and update this review as I get more experience in them.

So I got these coming into the Fall season and still being on the road to bagging all 58 14ers in CO. These boots have seen 3 14ers so far. These routes are mixed with dirt trails, mud, river crossings, scrambling, and climbing. Wore them on hot days, rainy days, and through snow...and here is what I have to say...
Fit - like a glove...I dont think my feet has been in any shoe or boot that felt so...perfect.
Traction - amazing traction. Lose gravel, climbing rocks and ledges, these boots have brought back confidence.
Warmth - so warm...maybe too warm for summer in my opinion. I wore these in 20-30F weather with a thin pair of hiking socks...my feet felt great, even after trekking through snow and getting wet in river crossings.
Comfort - after multiple days of miles and miles of trekking, the longest single route was about 10-12 miles with about 20lbs on my back, my feet did not hurt, no blisters, but were stinky. Confort is key.
Durability - these boots have hit so many sharp rocks and scuffed boulders and ledges...after wiping the dirt and mud off, there is very little to no evidence of abuse.
Waterproof - yup, they definately are. Love seeing the water and snow just roll off the boot.
Laces - I hate the laces. They are a more stiff and durable laces, but they dont stay tied. I have to stop maybe every 100-200 ft to just te-tie them. Walking downhill is even worse. On the 2nd 14er, I learned that double knotting them works better, but I would still have to re-tie...not near as often, but still. Engineering...I submitted a ticket...fix this!
Other than the laces, these boots are amazing!

I bought these boots and used them straight from the box to the top of Scafell Pike (highest mountain in England) very comfortable and very robust, the only issue I noted was the ankle cuff was slightly tight/stiff but I'd put this down to them being new, first use!
I have a pair of the Bora mid GTX boots and these new Acrux are just as comfortable but seem to be better made. They look to be more tuff, robust and the rand looks to be stiffer better quality. I couldn't fault the boots and knowing Arc'teryx, if there are any issues they will either repair or replace with minimal fuss or drama.
What I don't understand is this, Arc'teryx make this boots aimed at trekking, then they have the total other end of the scale the Acrux AR designed for ice climbing. Where's the middle of the road boots that are B2 rated for flexible crampon use??? Come on Arc'teryx!!!! You guys are missing a big market in the uk for the winter walkers who don't want to scale frozen waterfalls!!

Not sure if they'll replace my go to boots. The footbox seems narrow and I'm not sure if they'll break in or not. The reviews talked about them not being too water repellant but not so much about them being narrow. My Asolo boots are made in the same region and feel so much better. I want to like them more but we'll see later on.

I absolutely loved this boots and they were my go to for day hikes and on rainy dog walks. Sadly though both pairs didn't last. The latest pair lasted about 2 years before I caught them on a branch and it tore through the boot.

these boots are both amazing and terrible. with 500+km backpacking with these boots the goretex liner has kept my feet dry as long as you don't go over the top, they are extremely light weight, and the locking lace eyes are a cool feature to keep tension on the laces, their sole traction on dry ground is impeccable.
now the downside, thetoebox on these boots is so so narrow, and the lace to toe design makes it even more noticeable. the factory laces are the worst, they are stiff and do not bite into themselves and are a nuisance constantly coming undone. the two quick lace eyes have caught the other boots lace loop when not covered by gators or pants and has caused stumbles and its the only boot ive has this happen on. and the vibrab sole is down right dangerous on wet rocks and roots that cover the west coast trails. i have stopped wearing these boots on the coastal trails because of this.
so with that, these are great waterproof boots for waking around town or backpacking on dry alpine trails. for wet coastal trails look elsewhere.

The shoe is narrow. Feels like it was made for a woman's feet. I had to return it. It is well made otherwise.
It felt like someone tried to make a unisex shoe. Not a good idea.

I brought these for hiking in the snow and mountains in the alps. They kept my feet warm and dry so i can't fault them for functionality.
Funnily enough, I broke them with the laces loose and with an injured ankle on dry, even ground. I'm returning them and contemplating whether to buy another pair... what you guys think?
How long is the manufacturing guarentee? Would they break again?

Good: Lightweight, stylish, durable, comfortable, true to size and good for all day hikes on nice days.
Bad: I have owned two pairs of these boots and I have not been impressed with the waterproofing. The upper material absorbs water and top of my feet get wet.
These boots would be a five star if they were waterproof.

The boots work pretty well when hiking in terms of functionality. It is water proof, and provide stable support. However, it causes me a lot of pain on my medial malleolus every time. I tried different insoles, socks, lace techniques, etc. Nothing worked.

Design:
I just purchased a couple of pairs: For myself and for my girlfriend. My jaw dropped when I first saw this boot - Great job!!! Design Department - You knocked that one straight out of the ball park. Looking at this boot you can tell right away it is more than a boot, it's a serious footwear tool.
Engineering:
This boot amazingly hold some of the best qualities any average to serious hiker will appreciate: It is tougher and stiffer yet still really plush.
From ARC'TERYX to you:
If you are familiar with the attention to details ARC'TERYX is known for, you won't be disappointed with this product. This boot is as good(or superior) than expectation.
This is not footwear - this is a hiking tool!
And a great one at that!!! If you get a chance to try a new pair at the store I want you to try dancing a few step with it and also, try to motion as if you were wearing a pair of ice skates. You might instantly find yourself with a natural extension to your feet and ankles. This boot will hold you down no mater the direction or angle which make it extremely useful when you need to move fast jumping from one rock to the next or while maneuvering yourself on uneven surfaces which brings me to my last "pro"
This boot is safe:
Not often you think of safety with footwear unless you need to wear steel toe all day long at work. In this case the safety is twisted ankles, better agility while climbing, walking, jumping, running and breaking. Best part is you don't have to suffer with the weight or the discomfort of a work and safety boot. This boot ratio is amazing!
Now the Nasty little bugs that will be fixed on version 2:
This will be totally random in my opinion. I say chances are probably around 10%-15% that you will develop weird pleats where the toe bends. the shell of the boot is an extremely durable and flexible shell and with time I hope it will ease itself a bit but like any other textile - the boot shell remembers how it is the easiest to bend under compression and you might end up with your right or left bending inward instead of outward which is terribly annoying. My girlfriend has no such problem, and so does my left foot - supper happy! My right foot though is such whiner, always reminding me, every step I take, "Hey man! something is poking me!" That weird little none compliant little pleat inside the boot is insanely annoying. As previously mentioned - the chances you will get introduced to the same problem is probably none existent - but be aware of it! if there is any kind of weird pleat when you try you boots the first time, just ask the clerk to exchange the right or the left from another box of the same size - this won't make any difference to the store and you will pass the pleat forward to someone else who didn't read my review lol and buy yours and keep this to yourself until you get out of the store with your new amazing boots.
Last but not least - I live in Squamish - Yep, like jacket they have. Anyway, if you mountain bike you know how slippery wet roots are on a trail. Do yourself a favour, and negotiate your passing over the root at right angle just like if you were riding your mountain bike. Your butt will thank you.
How to fix these two cons:
ARC'TERYX got the lamination down path we all know that. my advice: either use a thinner laminated piece where the boot bends at the toe or create a "W" crush area which will probably eliminate the variable of the potential pleat not often found in the Acrux TR. Second would be to add an additive to the rubber of the sole like carbide or diamond dust (yep, like they use on blades to cut tiles) - even walnuts like they use in vehicle tires would be a great start. Slippery, wet pressure treated decks boards, slimy rocks and roots on the trail would become a none existing issue.
I feel that once these two issue have been dealt with on Version 2.0, this boot will be hard to beat and will more than likely be one that will go in the books as one of the greatest boot ever manufactured. Get yourself a pair you won't regret it.

Bought these boots 2 years ago and used for Summer walking in the Lakeland fells and Scottish mountains. For the first 18 months I was really pleased with them: lightweight, comfortable, robust and I thought water-proof.
Unfortunately, after my initial 18 months the rand (the welded rubber strip between the sole and the upper) came away from the upper on one of my boots resulting in water now leaking in.
In my experience I expect a relatively expensive, reputable make boots to last longer than 18 months normal walking.

I recently put the Acrux hiking boots to the test during a challenging 9-day hike along the Lake Superior Coastal Trail in Ontario, Canada.
Outsole: The Acrux features a Vibram outsole that excels on dry rocks, providing an excellent grip as long as you walk along the slope. However, on flat surfaces or wet rocks, the grip falls short, resulting in less stability. An improved side grip would be beneficial for a more secure footing in diverse terrain.
Toe Box: The boot offers a generous toe box with a sturdy toe cap, allowing ample room for your toes to move comfortably. I recommend going half a size up to ensure a more comfortable fit, especially if you plan on longer hikes or if your feet tend to swell.
Tongue: One notable drawback is the poorly designed tongue, which fails to integrate seamlessly with the boot's body. This design flaw can allow water to seep into the boot from the sides of the tongue, which can be particularly problematic in wet conditions.
Lacing System:The placement of the lace locks (eye loops) is not ideal, as it can create undue pressure on the top of your ankle joint when lacing up. This aspect may cause discomfort during extended hikes and could benefit from repositioning.
Liner: The liner's quality is commendable, and it dries relatively quickly when exposed to moisture. However, there is a noticeable issue with stitching, which can lead to rubbing, marks, and, in some cases, blisters, especially in the heel counter area. It's essential to break in these boots thoroughly, I got blisters even if I wore them for over a week before embarking on the hike.
Collar: It is well-designed, making it easy to put on and take off. The addition of a heel loop for hanging and carrying would be a welcome enhancement.

Bought the Aerios AR mid GTX boot which are very similar to the Acrux as always wanted to own some Arcteryx gear and bought them in the sale at a very competitive price. Now received them and I've got to admit they are extremally comfortable and look fantastic however I'm very concerned they won't last more than 12 months. Where the boot flexes
on the upper behind the toe the fabric seems to kink and I'm sure it'll fail very soon, I desperately want these boots to last but don't think they will. I wanted to buy a proper pair of walking boots but i think I've bought a fashion "brand"
