These shoes look good, feel good, and seem to hold up as I walk a few miles every day.

Every gait is different and different wear is expected. Based on prior shoes the number of miles received from this shoe is disappointing considering the cost. Otherwise , very satisfied with the shoe

It could be more comfortable for the price it's at.

Good shoe. Only just got it so I don't know how well it will hold up. My last pair of 1260s started coming apart after 2 weeks, just like the defective 1260 they replaced. I'd never had problems with new balance previously so I'm hoping it was just specific to that shoe. Only criticism is the shoe size is 1 full size bigger than other shoes they offer. I heard they ran big so I went down half size from previous new balance shoes and they're still a bit too big. Since I bought online, I wish there was more consistency in sizing. Or an app to let me take photo of my foot and have it say what size I need based on model I want to purchase.

The shoes are ok; however, not the best I have had from NB. These shoes are a very tight 16 D. Previously, size 16 D were not tight, they fit correctly. The shoe laces are far to short for this shoe.

I use it for walking. I would prefer more padding. A big problem with New Balance is that virtually all shoes have a great-sounding description in the catalog. There needs to be much more detail as to why one model is better than another, or who should use this particular shoe rather than another in the catalog. As for the 1540v3, what does it have that other models (such as the 840v4) don't have that makes it so much more expensive? I tried it at the recommendation of a chat with someone at the New Balance site. The 840v3 had fit me well, accommodating my inserts, whereas the 840v4 didn't have enough room in the toe box for that. Your representative suggested the 1540v3 as an alternative. It's basically ok, but not worth the extra money.

The laces began falling apart the week I started wearing them. Garbage. Texted support asking for new laces and I've been ignored so far. The sole insert doesn't cushion like they used to. Cheaper materials.

I have been running in 1340 for several years, but with 1340s unavailable, I bought the 1540 v3. It is an acceptable shoe but I miss the superior cushioning and better arch support that I had with the 1340s.

I have 9 pair of NB806 tennis shoes, all fit perfect. I thought this would be the same fit, but it wasn't.

The shoe itself looks great. I was just surprised at how large it was. I wear a 16 4E in Fresh Foam shoes, so that's what I ordered this shoe in. It seems to be a size larger. I'm going to reorder it in 15 4E. Maybe it is because this shoe was made in USA and all the other NB shoes I have were not? Kudos to NB for making large and wide sizes at all.

I'm a moderate pronator who has been using New Balance products exclusively over the past 20 years. It was time to replace my 1260v7's, which were awesome but long in the tooth. So I decided to buy two pair of the made in America product offerings, the 1540v3. The shoe seems stiff, heavy and one of the pair the right heel does not strike the ground evenly. To top it off the laces on both pair are short, barely enough to tie it, let alone tying it security with a double knot. This is not a model I will repeat buying

I've worn NB for years and thought I would try theses because of the reviews for stability. I was supposed to have ankle surgery but the Pandemic and the fact they cancelled all elective surgeries it didn't happen and now I don't have any sick time left. These were a little big and had a huge toe box. These are like a brick, they are stiff and heavy. I would not recommend these for anyone with ankle problems.

The arch support was ok. But there is no give yo the sole. These sneakers are called “Motion Control” on all the other sites it is sold on. I would suggest putting that in the title.
Returning them this week.

I am 6ft and 194lbs and have been a lifelong runner, racer, etc. This was the first pair of New Balance I had bought, and while the shoe is exceptionally stylish and good looking. The midfoot and heel strike was much too stiff and hard for my running style. I returned the shoe and plan to try the Fresh Foam 880v10.

I'm a big fan of New Balance and have had many pair. This was the first pair that I felt ran just a bit small.

It may fit for some people, but it didn't fit for me, despite that I have purchased other NewBalance shoes at the same size and they worked for me.

Shoe is comfortable after I addressed a design flaw that may be applicable to a minority.
I cannot lace the shoe to the very top eyelet on either foot because it cuts into my ankle bone. For me, the design rises too high. Shoe cannot be totally/properly laced. OK overall, but not perfect.

First NB discontinues the 1123 & now they change the 1540. I’ve been thru 5 pair of the 1540v2, the new version is a definite step back - not nearly as comfortable. The toe box is much tighter/smaller apparently lower than the previous version. Also, this shoe is much tighter across the instep as compared to the v2. Wish I had stocked up on the v2, now I have to start looking for a walking shoe again. But as always Zappos service rocks!

I use my 1540v3 for everyday wear. I have been buying this style for many years, so I have seen it go through changes. I have very wide feet so this is about the only shoe I can wear. That being said I still have a pair of the original 1540,s and that fit way better than the 1540v3. NB has made the toe box smaller. NB please go back to the original toe box size for the 1540. I know I am not the only person with this problem. NB has many styles but I only have two to chose from, so when you change them it is a real problem for me. I need inserts for a foot problem I have, but I can not wear the inserts because the toe box is to small it needs to be taller. I can only give it a 3 out 5 rating because the toe box is to small
