I have been wearing Kayano's for over ten years and since the 23 - 24 they aren't nearly as comfortable as they used to be. The gel cushioning in the heel is GREAT, but the upper part of the toe box is hard and not cushioned at all. The 26 would be perfect if they had the comfortable toe box of the 23. I am very hopeful that Asics merges the older, more comfortable toe area of the 23 with the awesome gel of the 26! Fingers crossed...

I tried an 8M and it felt a little short, so I tried an 8 1/2 and it felt narrower. I ordered the 8W and it didn’t feel any wider, but it did seem longer. In this style, the shoe from mid-arch through the heel was very comfy with the gel. In the ball of my foot it was like there is no gel. I am returning the shoe, which is too bad because I love the looks of it.

I bought Kayano 26 to see what was improved vs 25. Well to my opinion not much. I found the 25 version runs more close to the fit size and Made in China. Version 26 made in Vietnam same size 10 runs smaller vs size 10 on version 25. I had to return and re order 10.50 on Kayano 26. Am not sure why there is no consistency into sizes. I know for sure I am not a 10.50. Overall I love the prior version better made. Thanks.

These shoes were presented as an option for someone looking for a neutral footfall. It was my mistake that I didn't look further to find out they are neutral to an over pronated step. These fall closer to the over pronated step. I can wear them for daily tasks but running in them causes shins splints. The website advised a half size up from some of my other shoes and that was perfect. Don't use these for running if you have a neutral footfall.

Just when the Asics Gel-Kayano 25 were fitting great, I ordered the 26 expecting the same great fit. Unfortunately they were too small and when I ordered 1/2 size larger, they fit in length but are a little too wide. Sad....

I was excited that the Kayano 26 had the orange color around the grey sneaker. It is definitely wider than the Kayano 25, which I appreciated. However, it was too short and my toe was hitting the front, as I walked. The next size, 7 1/2, I presumed was going to be too big, since that is typical of Asics. So, wish it was a bit longer and I hope they keep manufacturing wide sizes. It would be great if they offered extra wide, since so many folks would be happy with that. Also, a bit more cushioning on the ball of the foot, would be a great plus.

I've been buying Gel-Kayanos in narrow for years and am always so happy with the fit since I have a very narrow foot and have a hard time finding a running shoe that fits. Recently, I went back to the store where I always buy my Gel-Kayanos and found out that ASICS is no longer making barrows. : (. I've looked online and called other stores, but I can't find narrow ASICS or other running shoes anywhere. I ended up buying Gel-Kayanos 26 in regular width, and my feet hurt. There's too much room in the shoe. Please, ASICS, bring back narrow sizes!

This is not a stability shoe. My feet roll in to my big toes when walking and running. Some previous versions were narrower; the width has been corrected in this version.

For the past 15 years or so, I've been a dedicated wearer of Asics. I've had the cheap ones; I've had the expensive ones. Sure, some lasted longer than others but none of them have ever been duds like these.
No matter how I tie them, it's as if the whole area around the laces, sides, tongue, etc... are way too tight. The sole of the shoe also feels extra narrow. The heel and toe box are fine. The cushion of the bottom is nice. I expected the areas around the tight middle to stretch and work out over time, but I'm ready to toss these. :(

I bought this in March and started using it in April and its already got tears/rips right next to the last lace hole -- where I slip my foot in - this is expected but would not expect it on something so new.. did use it but mostly indoors - my old asics never did wear out so quickly - poor qlty !!

I've always agreed with the "you get what you pay for" philosophy. So I decided to spend the extra money on these to see if they were an upgrade from the usual (not inexpensive) Asics I can easier afford. That philosophy does not hold true with these shoes, more money did not buy me better comfort. From someone whose feet always hurt, I am sad and disappointed.

Have been wearing the Contend style for a couple of years. Bought these because the website indicated they'd be good for my "numb big toe, shin splints" problems. They're worse with the Kayana! I hurt so much when I wear them. Not a great option, but I've gone back to my worn out Contends. Yeh, I know you shouldn't wear worn out footwear, but my comfort is more important! So very disappointed in sinking a big amount of money into purchasing these Kayanas, especially disappointed that the wearability is making my exercise experience worse. I really regret buying this style.

I've been buying Gel Kayano's for 15 years and this is the first negative review. The netting overlay that covers most of the shoe is so fragile that it ripped within the first month of wearing these. So, my new $150+ shoes looked ratty and old when they were in fact, new. I've read other reviews about runners having their toe pierce the front of these shoes which doesn't surprise me. I use them primarily for walking and casual cycling. This Kayano 26 version was sub-par and now, I'll be closely scrutinizing the new model that comes out in a few months and seriously considering switching brands altogether.

I normally love Asics, but was disappointed by these shoes. Very firm, so took some time to break them in, but even after multiple wears, they are leaving blisters on ankles. Unfortunately I have been wearing my much older, worn-down sneakers instead of these due to this discomfort.

These shoes are awful. What happened to Asics running shoes? I've been running for 40 years and have loved so many pairs of Asics. But now they are like running on cardboard. I use these for gardening as they are not really running shoes.
