I purchase a 1/2 size larger, but they are still pretty tight.

My son has worn these shoes every day. He is a runner and they have held up great. Buying the same shoes in the next size up. This will be our 3rd pair.

We always buy stride rite. Shoes look great and they are very durable and last long time. Nicely one of the few shoes you can get extra-wide size that we need to accomadate braces. This last round the shoes were not as wide, had to go up half size and barely fit.

My son loves this shoe! He doesn't always need a wide, but he does in this shoe in order for the strap to reach over his foot. This is his third pair...a win in my book!

these run small

This is a well-made shoe and I expect it to hold up as well as the other M2P Stride Rite shoes we've gotten in the past. The only thing I don't like about this shoe is that it's a bit difficult for my son to get on compared to similar sneakers he has worn. The tongue does not pull back as far/easily for him to fit his foot in.But he says the shoes are comfortable when worn.

These are cute shoes and look sturdy. However their extra-wide size was not wide enough. It seemed more like a wide size, without the "extra."

These are great shoes, especially for my son who has very wide feet and needs extra support. They do wear out a little quicker than I'd like, but I like that I can get the same show in the same color in different sizes (my kids feet vary in size). He can lit them on his own and they seem to be comfortable.

Nice, sturdy shoe for my 19 month old. They are a little tricky to get on as the shoe is pretty stiff but I'm sure it will loosen up over time. Velcro sticks nicely and my son seems to like them.

These are great for my somewhat active 2 year old, but my very active rough little 3 year old boy tears them apart in a month. Once your child is older and if they are rough, I'd switch to keen sneakers. They seem to hold up much better.

My son has a wide foot and we always order a Wide shoe size. These still felt a little narrow and stiff. I like the colors because they go well with many outfits.

My son is super comfortable in these; he wears them to kindergarten every day. I'm thrilled to find something that accommodate his super wide feet. My only complaint is that the toes were pretty scuffed after the first week.

I needed an XW sneaker for my grandson and these are great. Lightweight and easy enough to get on his chubby little feet. I like the wide heel which gives him stability. The only complaint is the velcro strap barely makes it across to secure. I think the XW shoes should have at least a 1/2 inch longer strap.

Toe portion wore out/down. Only lasted a few months of daily wear at daycare.

We like it a lot but we are disappointed it has worn down rather quickly, in 4 months. Particularly in the front.

These shoes are cute. The only drawback is how fast they scuff and tear on the front; otherwise the shoe looks great.

These were really narrow; I have to exchange them

Normally, stride rite is my go-to kids brand. However, I am very disappointed with this pair. My son has had them for 1 week and the toe rubber is completely scraped off and the fabric of the tongue has split open on both shoes. My 3 1/2 year old is rough on shoes, but these should have held up to regular wear and tear for more than 1 week.

Like some other Stride Rite sneakers we've tried, these were oddly stiff in the back and hard to put on. At 5, obviously, our son wants to put on his own sneakers, so these went back!

My son has a wide foot, so I was so excited to find shoes in an XW, and cute ones, too. My son loves them, and Zappos' next day shipping always makes me happy. That being said, he has had these less than 4 months & the seam at the toes has already come apart & I can see his big toe thru the hole. Kids are going to be kids, so at the price you pay, you should get better value. I'm ordering another pair, simply because they fit so well, hoping to get better life out of them. If not, I'll be back to the drawing board finding shoes for him.

These are cute and my 2 year old didn't want to take them off, but they look cheaply made and I can see how the big toe wears out quick as the other reviews noted. I think the front toe will also start to separate from mesh. We are going with the Keen CNX. For a few more dollars they appear to be a better made shoe.

Nice comfortable shoe, easy for my son (6) to take on and off. But disappointed to see the toe is already wearing after just a couple months. We are hard on shoes but I would expect more durability from stride rite.

The 2.5 ran true to size for my son's average width foot but after only a few days of wear they are already starting to show signs of fraying on the stitching near the "laces". We'll see how long they last but so far I am disappointed in the overall quality of the shoe.
