Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

Work for arthritis & orthotics. Colors ugly, only come in black, gray and navy. Need cute colors for women. The ugly past - brown, maroon & pepto pink.

3 stars because this is a shoe that is deep enough to fit my custom orthotics without being too tight on the top of my foot. However they are extremely bulky looking. Especially around the ankle area. Look kind of funny. Also not a lot of cushion.

I am a big fan of the 990v4 I thought the v5 would have the same quality and support I have come to know and love from New Balance. I would pay more money for the v4 if NB would bring them back.

The style of the shoe has been made more modern and I like the look. I have always had a pair of the New Balance 990s, but this new version is not as comfortable. I'm not sure why, but I am very disappointed in the fit and feel of the shoe.

The shoes are very comfortable. My complaint is that the navy colored suede parts have faded over the year I've had them. The navy looks like a dusty brown now. Disappointed.

I had a pair of 990v4 that I loved but wore them out and bought 990v5 as a replacement. Ordered it online, due to Covid. There was an issue with the stitching of the left shoe - it kept pressing and hurting my foot. NB replaced it with a new pair, but the fit isn't great yet - waiting to see if they'll feel as comfortable as my old pair. Also, my 990v4 were blue with orange on the inside, the 990v5 are plain, just one color - not as fun.

I purchased these new balance shoes. They are considerable heavier than my last new balance running/walking shoe and less comfortable too. It is weird because they look really wide but my left foot feels a little more cramped than I would like but the length is fine. Also, after using them a bit my left foot isn't totally happy. Not sure why - its almost like the balance of the shoe is off creating a bit of an imbalance in my gait. I think I will take them into an insert specialist to see if they can help me adjust them. It is the problem with buying shoes online. Err! What I like - is the color - a cadet blue.

Actually, I was very disappointed with these shoes. While they provide excellent support, they are extremely heavy and almost feel like I'm wearing hiking boots. I developed a callous from wearing the 990s for less than 2 weeks. I just discovered that the 990 is much heavier than the 880 and wish I had known that earlier. There weren't any reviews that I could find on your website. Friends have the 880 and they like them. We compared the weight and the 990 is 4 ounces heavier. This was a bad purchase. If I hadn't used them, I'd return them. I've just ordered a pair of 880s and am waiting for them to arrive. I'm sure I will be happy with them. Buying shoes online is difficult. This was an expensive and unsatisfactory purchase,

I always order New Balance because of their wide versions. This the first time I've had to return because it was too wide.

I have bought these same shoes for several years. However, this pair squeaks when I walk. Very annoying. Am contacting the company.

I don't think the quality is as good as it used to be. Shoe doesn't feel as sturdy as my older pairs

The cost per comfort just isn't there. This is my first and last pair of new balance shoes.

The shoe is beautiful but there were inconsistencies with the rubber on one shoe. It was chipped and torn a bit. For almost $200 they need to be made perfectly. Had to return.

I need an extra wide fitting and NB provides that but the selection is limited and uninspiring. The shoes are only satisfactory, not excellent

I wear N Balance athletic shoes, but this style runs a bit short, even though I ordered up a half size. It didn't find them comfortable for my toes.

shouldn't have rips on any sneaker for this price, needed them and didn't have time to return them, great support, lose stars for defect!
