Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

About a size 11-1/2 When I wear size 11 The shoe fit too tight and was hurting my feet Had to return them.

I ordered my usual 6 B in Navy. Fit perfect. Nice roomy toe box. So I then ordered the Grey color in same size, 6B. The Grey shoes are shorter in length and tight in toe box! So tight I would need to order a wide. I'm going to have to return them. Same thing happened to me with the 990v4. The Black color was sized differently than the Grey. Why can't New Balance remain consistent in the sizing of this shoe? Some serious quality control is needed.

The shoes are very squeaky. I am surprised that with the most expensive pair of shoes new balance sells that are made in America they would be so squeaky. I do like the support they have. I had to buy an insert for myself because I have such flat feet and it wasn't enough support without the insert. They are pretty Lunky they're not sleek. They do have pretty good support and make me walk straight. I think they run large I got a nine wide and it's way bigger than I thought it would be. I had to buy a shoehorn to put them on though so that I don't have to untie them every time.

There is not a good selection of sizes and colors of the 990 woman's shoes. I've gone to our local New Balance store as well as the website, very disappointing.

I walk every day. Love the shoe. However, I prefer gray and can't find this model in a gray and white size 7 standard. Why isn't gray available?

So excited to try out these made in the US sneakers. Great materials and craftsmanship. They are heavier than sneakers I've had in the past. So far very comfortable but a bit more sneaker than I'm used to. I have a small foot and prefer the cut on the shoe be lower. The tongue and ankle sit high on my foot.

I've been wearing NB for years because of high arches, and I wear custom orthotics. These fit well and are comfortable as always, but they squeak! Every step is like, grunch, grunch, grunch. Weird.

This shoe is really comfortable to walk in, use it almost everyday now. But this show is on the pricey side so make sure if it'll be a good investment for you:)

They are so cute but run big. I should have ordered a half size smaller. They aren't comfortable for very long but good for a cute outfit or a short while

The 990 line's been my primary wear for some years now and I decided for the first time to order my next pair online at newbalance.com rather than take the drive to another city for the nearest New Balance store. Unfortunately with the pair I received, the left shoe fit as comfortably as expected while the right shoe felt unusually hard as though I were walking on a floor in thin socks. I removed the insoles and in the right shoe could feel as though some cushioning failed to be added. It was like hard plastic covered with barely-there fabric. I bought some Dr. Scholl's insoles in hopes that would help, but it didn't. Fortunately, I was able to exchange the shoes at the store I was trying to avoid driving to in the first place and tried the replacements on first to be sure. My new pair is now as great and comfortable as my previous pairs, thankfully. Three-star rating for having paid that much to have one shoe defective and pretty much cancel out the initial convenience of online ordering.

I wanted a shoe that was cushioned and had great support because I like to go on a daily walk through my neighborhood or around my local lake. I found the sneaker has the support and cushioned heel but overall feels very stiff. I do not know if the sneaker will break in eventually and provide a comfortable walk but at this time after the walk I have to take the sneaker off and relax my feet. This is an expensive sneaker and I was expecting a more comfortable experience.

I've had many new balance sneakers, this one seems to run large. I may have to exchange it for a half size smaller. It feels sturdy for sure, but less supportive than the former 990 model. Time will tell how well it wears.

I have been wearing the 990 series for years now for my arthritic ankle. I was disappointed in the lack of colors, but went for the navy and silver as opposed to the grey. I had to keep checking the shoe because it is definitely bulkier than the previous ones. I thought perhaps they were mens. They are standard, not wide or narrow, but they look like they are wide. I honestly don't think the v5 is as good as the v4 but that's just me.

Orthotics are fine one these. Shoes very stiff. Need stylish colors for Women. The colors are men's colors - black, navy and gray. Don't want the old maroon, brown or peptones pink.
