Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

The 990v4 was perfect -- for me. The 990v5 is too large. To make it work I took the inserts out of the v4 and put them into the v5. I don't mind -- for for almost $200, why should I have to do this? The older shoe was perfect!

Great shoe for walking. First time I ordered, I ordered the wrong size and had to wait another week. Second set, the right size but UPS must have thrown them in a puddle. The box was soaked and the shoes were damp. Dried them and put them on because I didn't want to wait another week or pay for a third pair while waiting for my refunds

Nice color. Good toe area. I have to wear a brace, and it can hold the brace well

Hi, I love the shoes and purchasing via the internet was new to me but I would to it again the process was easy. I did miss the in-store help and luckily this is not the first time buying these shoe types. I usually get inserts with my shoe and unfortunately, I did not see them on the site and was not sure which ones to get. Hopefully, when then store opens I can go in and ask. All in all this experience and product are great! Thank you

Hard to get on but amazing walking some,Wish it came in more colors.

I wear a size 13 2A and New Balance is the only company I've found that makes this size. Unfortunately there is not great demand for this size and the styles are limited. I would give a 5 rating for the comfort but was only able to secure a basic grey color in my size. Would love to see more exciting patterns and options, please.

For both husband & wife, we have been wearing New Balance shoes because we find that when ordered properly (size & width) they fit the best of other brands.

my get a big hole in front and only I used 8 months and never washed. is comfortable

Because of my foot problem I have to buy a good stable shoe. I wear a narrow shoe. These feel great on my feet. My only complaint is I wish they made more colors in a woman's 11 narrow.

My feet are an 8.5B (40 standard), and I have been using New Balance shoes for at least 15 years. I use green SuperFeet due to very low arches. This model is wonderful. My feet are comfortable when I run, I can be on my feet all day, and the black ones transition well from street to gym. I find these MUCH better than the 1540s (I changed to this model because of the second paragraph of this review), but I miss this model so much. The 990s has enough depth in the back of the shoe so that my foot does not feel like flopping out, the toe box has enough space so that I don't feel squeezed, and the laces are long enough. However, while the bottoms of the shoes last a long time, the top mesh is not durable enough; I keep finding a hole into where the big toe is. Would this be because of the natural materials? If this were stronger material with the same structure, and if this model were vegan (I only just realized that it's a natural material and feel really bad about the pig material), then I would never switch models of shoes. Please offer a vegan version of this shoe, NB, and you will have a customer for life!

I have worn these shoes for years because they come in narrow my bunion breaks through the side I have four pair with the same hole in them would be great if that sot was not made of mesh but something stronger! The price on these shoes is way too high and never included on the sale promotions!

Put more padding in the inersole, sometimes it wears out more quickly than the outersole. Less padding in the tongue as it presses on the dorsal area and sometimes the ankle.
