Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

I have big, wide feet, a bunion on one, hammertoes on the other. These sneakers are the only ones I've found that fit and don't hurt. At this price point I wish they'd last a little longer before the "bounce" gives out, but it's a small complaint given that they are my primary means of transportation.

I love these tennis shoes! So comfortable, the best walking tennies I've had. And I have feet issues, these are amazing. This is my first time purchasing New Balance, but you have made a lifetime customer out of me!

I have worn the 990 series for several years (3rd pair) - New Balance has continued to improve the quality of this shoe from its inception. I tried one other competitor's running shoe because I could not get my size at the store - what a huge mistake - the shoe literally fell apart after only 3 months - back to New Balance - there is no comparison when it comes to quality and comfort.

I have a neuroma in my foot and custom orthodics for it, and these fit in the 990's. I have a lot of walking in my commute. These are the shoes strong enough to take care of my feet. My only problem is that I burn through the treads too fast.

I walk every day, these shoes are the best I have found for support and comfort.

I walk regularly a minimum of 4 times a week outdoors for exercise and I need to say that this is the best pair of shoes I have own for walking in my life (29 yrs old) No ankle pain, no foot pain. Runs true to size. This was my first pair and I regret not buying them earlier. (My feet felt better during and after my walks compared to the Nike Free Run shoes I own and wear)

I have never found a shoe that fits my foot without some after-market adjustments: wide in the toes, high arch, narrow heel. Also, I have an orthotic insert. I can make this shoe work with minimal customizing. First I replace the insert with my orthotic one. Then I re-lace it so that the laces begin one eyelet away from the forward eyelets, and I use the last eyelets (by the ankle) to pull them tightly near my heel.

I wear this New Balance shoes as well as the 990v4 alternately for my daily walk and other daily chores. They are very comfortable with a lot of cushion, I have flat feet. The material of the shoes are similar to the 990v4, that is why I decided to purchase another one.

I've worn these shoes for several years and have no intention of buying anything else! They're perfect!

I love these shoes! They are the only athletic shoes that I can wear. With narrow feet, orthotics, and surgery on my right foot, these shoes fit my feet perfectly! I have been wearing 993s forever and was glad to find this updated version. Sometimes, my toes start to wear through the mesh, so I just buy a pack of small sticky velcro pieces and place a soft one where my toe wears. It works perfectly. Is there any chance that you'll be bringing back the white vinyl ones? They would be great for boating, etc.

Being a 65 plus aged walker, a supportive, well cushioned shoe is essential. This shoe meets those requirements perfectly. This is an updated version of 990 shoes I purchased in 2018. Those original 990's were excellent, but these are even more cushioned and better vented for air circulation. I wear them for a daily walk, averaging 4 to 6 miles, mostly on paved surfaces. The recommendation to order half a size up was good advice. Most of my shoes are 7.5. The size 8 fits best in this case.

I should have gone with normal width. The wide width feels to wide for me. I feel I can't send it back since I have worn the shoe already. These shoes are comfortable. I would buy them again.

These fit great right out of the box. I did insert my own orthotics. But very comfortable.

990's have been my shoe of choice for several years, love it, fit, comfort, and it is made in the USA!!

I wear the 990 for every day use, as it cushions my feet and I feel secure.
