Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

I am recovering from an Achilles tendon repair and wanted something with a higher heel drop. These are the most comfortable sneakers I own. I wanted something that I could use for PT/activity as well as casually and these fit the bill. True to size, for me, in a 7.5 narrow. Highly recommend.

This is the 4th pair of 990v5 that I've purchased in the past 10 years. They are supportive and well-cushioned, AND they come in size 11.5 W!

I love my New Balance 990 tennis shoes. They are the only brand I have found that are so comfortable to wear every day. And they are made in USA which is great. I don't understand why they never go on sale.

From the moment I put these sneakers on they fit perfectly and were very comfortable. I actually bought a second pair of the same type. Would highly recommend.

I have been wearing the same type of shoes for over a decade. This type of shoe was introduced me I stick with it ever since. This type of shoe has "Wide (D)" choice. Due to partly hand made shoe, the price is little bit of expensive. If new balance have more friendly reward program, I bet it will be more attractive.

Looks good, feels good. A bit stiff, but I like that. NB tongues need or be l9nger, please.

Casual wear More comfortable than it looks. Well made and so worth the money. They will last forever. Sent it back only because I ordered the wrong size waiting for my size to be available again. Should order a 1/2 size smaller.

Xmas gift

I have worn ONLY this sneaker since I broke my foot a few years ago. It's the only shoe that supports well my weakened foot and ankle. I wear no other shoe -- ever! Also, I walk a strong dog that pulls. The sneaker makes it so the dog does not make me lose my balance.

The Syracuse U. track coach drew the shape of my foot and New Balance made the custom shoes that fit exactly. I was 40 years old at the time and did a lot of jogging. Now I hike. But I own 5 pair I wear all the time, everywhere on 2-mile walks up to the lake and Rotary Club meetings. In case you didn't do the math, I'm 87 years old. If I ever need to wear dress shoes, I need to clean off layers of dust!

I have been using the 990's for years on recommendation from my foot doctor. With orthotics, they give my feet the support it needs. They also wear very well.

bought these hoping they'd save me from my plantar fasciitis, and they did!! they are so comfortable and so cute. they match everything. the investment is 100% worth it. get them! i'm normally a size 7 and went with 7.5 in the regular fit. they fit perfect.

I agree with another reviewer. Women need color too. I've been wearing this shoe for at least 29 years, one year there was a turquoise! Got it. Since then same old, same old. I need them for support, but that doesn't need to be only black navy gray.

These are the only shoes I want. They fit great out of the box and allow me to walk and conduct my daily activities with comfort.

Only needs 1 improvement, longer laces!

I have used it at work to stand-up for more than 10 hours a day and my foot pain caused by bunions and fasciitis diminished so much. True to size. Easy to clean. Very comfortable. I highly recommend this product.

i DON'T LOVE THESE SHOES BUT NEED THE SUPPORT THEY PROVIDE. WHILE THE 990s ARE GREAT QUALITY, THEY ARE NEVER, EVER ON SALE AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A NEW COLOR AT LEAST NOW AND THEN -- ESPECIALLY FOR ALMOST $200 A POP. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT MEN BUY SO MUCH MORE OF THIS SHOE -- ON THE RARE OCCASION A NEW COLOR HAS COME OUT FOR WOMEN, THEY ARE SOLD OUT SUPER FAST
