Chose wide and fits well. Very comfortable around my toes, which I usually have an issue. Feels bit loose around the heels, but comfortable when walking.

Good quality. True to size. 992 is softer and more comfortable for me.

Black pair was too small. Should've been a 12. Highly disappointed for the cost.

I like the simple esthetics of these shoes. It is monotone--all grey! This makes it extremely versatile to wear; either casually or for a brief workout. It is quite comfortable to walk in all day. I would definitely recommend owning this shoe if you have not had one yet.

wanted to like these as much as my V4's and my 993's, but these fell apart after a year vs my v4's and 993's still going strong. Disappointed in the drop in quality of my favorite show.

I thought that my 933 were a great shoe and have 5 pairs of them. I decided to try out the 990 and will never regret it. These are a very comfortable shoe and fits my feet perfectly. Now I will be ordering these from now on.

I ordered a pair of New Balance 990v5. They arrived in short order, but were defective: some of the eyelet holes for the laces did not go through the underlying fabric, making it impossible to properly lace up the shoes. My only remedy was to send them back. I enclosed a note (which was ignored) suggesting that the sneakers simply be repaired and then returned to me. But no, they don't do business that way. If I want working shoes I have to place another order and hope that the replacement sneakers arrive ready to go. Altogether a bummer, leading to a waste of time and energy dealing with a simple problem that should have been caught during inspection before the sneakers were sent to me. Very disappointing behavior by New Balance.

Despite the AA label New Balance Shoes have NEVER been very narrow. Because I'm desperate for very narrow shoes I've kept buying the versions of the 990 and filling them with insoles as the uppers stretch. But this newest 'extra narrow' pair were just shockingly un-narrow. Customer service: After years of being a customer I finally decided this pair had to be returned. I almost never return anything and called customer service to get the process straight. The 'customer representative' grew impatient with me after less than three minutes asking twice 'is there anything else I can help you with.' That might seem courteous on the surface, but it was a fairly pointed way of implying: "I'm totally done with you now so hang up and go away." So yes, maybe I'll go away forever.

My Feet are very wide, and it's a miracle NB fills my needs, where the shoe industry history, really seemed to want to torture us down there, so whose needs got met that robot way? Mine, or the Vain-marketplace?
