At first I was very excited to see that most of the shoe was made in the USA. I was very happy that the shoe had a nice wide toe box as I have a wide foot / 13. I ended up ordering the 13 wide and it fit perfectly. I also picked up the new balance thin insert and they have worked really well. I mostly use the treadmill but could see these working well on the road as well. I'm really impressed with the quality of the shoe and am excited to see how long they last vs other shoes that I have used from NB that are about $50 less

This is my second pair of NB 990 series shoes. The 990v5 fit me the same as the v4s that I had worn out after more than 3 years of regular, daily use. Mostly used for walking and casual wear. I am not a runner. They are expensive but well worth it in terms of fit, style and durability. As I've grown older I appreciate good fitting shoes more and more.

Just purchased the new 990v5, silver. (mail order direct from NB, no shipping charge). From previous purchases I knew the exact size I needed before ordering which I highly recommend doing, I feel they run about normal or a tad small per size. I'll admit I almost dropped one star because of price, which I do feel is a bit high, but that said these shoes are VERY COMFORTABLE, look nice and appear to be well made, holding up nicely so far for brisk distance walking and casual. Been buying NB shoes for 20 years and they've always held up well. I have two older pair for cutting grass and muddy stuff. Bottom line, if you don't mind dropping almost 200$ for good tennis shoes, these are a great choice. I RECOMMEND!

I have been wearing New Balance shoes for years. In particular, pairs made in the USA. They quality is always amazing and the lifespan of their shoes exceed my expectations. This current purchase is, by far, the most comfortable pair that I have owned. My wife and I walk a lot. So, I wanted something that was made for activity but was comfortable for my wide flat feet. This pair fulfilled those requirements and more.
During our walks my feet would start to become sore after about a mile in. With the new pair, I can walk 5 miles comfortably with no soreness due to how well the shoes are cushioned. I have raved about them so much that my wife is considering a purchase here soon. A great purchase. This is why I keep coming back to New Balance's Made in the USA brands.

I have bought these shoes since the early 1980s. First pair that I bought had a problem with the sole coming unglued at the front. NB/dealer replaced. So for next we 35 or so years, I've bought same 99x shoes once or twice a year. I love that I get a good looking, good fitting, really comfortable shoe every time. No wasting time trying to find a shoe that fits. Low key / not flashy, so I can wear in the office. Of course, since you can buy online, that makes it really convenient. This last time, with Zappo's, I had the second issue with buying NB 99X. One of the shoes didn't have the "comfort insert". I contacted customer support. With just a couple of texts back and forth and there was path forward. Three days later I had replacement shoes. They, of course, fit perfectly. Very good experience. I recommend both the NB 990V5 s (for the consistent fit, quality and style) and Zappos (for excellent and extremely responsive, customer service).

Thrilled to have an athletic shoe that fits (size 16 AA). My ideal shoe size is 15 1/2 A width, but it doesn't exist, so 16 AA is the next best thing. Thank you New Balance for accommodating us tall guys with long, narrow feet. The shoes feel and look great!

As I wear a double "A", it is always an exception for me to have a shoe that fits. Only down side is the fact that the shoe is not available in my size in every color that is advertised. Otherwise, 3 thumbs up!

Fit was great. Incredibly soft and super comfortable. Perfect for my daily neighborhood walks on flat terrain. Approaching seventy and my knees do not work well and needs an extremely gentle impact exercise like a slow walk. These sneakers work perfectly for that.

Shoes are very comfortable. The only complaint I have is that there is a big monochrome American flag on the tongue. It's mostly covered up by the shoelaces and not noticeable to the casual viewer but it's there.
