I've been running Marathons in New Balance since the 1980's. Now that I'm 65, Ive decided to splurge a little and get the 990v5. I've worn 900 series in the past and really loved them but then I moved to Hawaii and options were limited or sold out in my shoe size. I started buying from New Balance website about 2 years ago and I got shoes for All Terrain, Walking/Running again. The 990v5 was not as snug around my toes as other 10.5-Wide New Balance shoes but I found it seems to let air circulate better and so far no side affects like a blister.
I ordered another 990v5 but regular/standard width. I'll report on difference, if any, in another review.

Hubby loves these! Normally wears 11W, and fit perfectly in his regular size. 990s are by far the most supportive shoe. Hubby has started getting arthritis in his feet (we're too young for this!), and needs a good shoe. The fun color makes him feel better about wearing such a conservative style.

I'm very happy with the shoes. The only thing I would change is that I'd prefer gray laces to the brilliant white---I feel a little conspicuous.
I have metatarsal issues and so I place a 3/4 insole in them, and they're great.

Right out of the box these sneakers are amazing. I am a size 11 in men and they are true to size. I have never worn a more comfortable sneaker. You will not be disappointed if you buy these.

I buy New Balance 99v5, and have previously purchased v4 and v3 as my flat feet need an orthopedic insert created by a PT.
The current shoe strings are perfect in length, allowing me to lace all of the holes, and tie the shoe lace around the knot twice, to prevent slipping.
I feel the shoes are easy to get dirty, but they have stayed clean for a couple of months now - since I don't go out in the rain very much.

Out doctor recommended these shoes specifically for my husband and they certainly are the best and most comfortable shoe he's ever owned. Both of us have worn New Balance for years but this particular one fits him so well and he said he noticed the difference right away. Our doctor wears them as well as he is on his feet a lot. Great shoe and a great American company.

Sizing was perfect. Having worn this sneaker model for several past in-person purchases, I was confident that the sizing chart for online shopping would be correct. New Balance 990 did not disappoint. Love the newly designed insole. Pure comfort, what else is there to say.

The 990v5 shoes are underrated for midsole arthritis. Having injured my midsole I developed walk limiting arthritis. After two months, I'm now able to walk and hike (within moderation). If you decide to discontinue the shoe, let me know so I can order ten more!

I have 6E feet and NB is one of the few manufacturers that make them available. These shoes look stylish and not like astronaut boots on my feet. They are comfortable, and I just finished wearing them for 8 hours today, most of the time on my feet. AND 70% of the content is made in the USA!
